I have a friend who not only works at Sweetwater but is a killer guitarist who played in a Pink Floyd tribute band called Pink Droyd. Yes, talking about YOU Mike! After you watch a Pink Droyd concert you feel as if you have seen the real deal they're that good. I think there's some RUclips vids of them. But the last guitar I bought from Sweetwater required only a minor tuning and it was perfectly setup and intonated. I bought it on a Wednesday and it showed up on my doorstep Friday morning. Magic
Beginners? My friend and I been playing for years but were jamming just yesterday, we both forgot..I don't even remember what but we both just said "ah yeah well Marty will know it". This man is a God sent to us all🙏

It's the nuances that make you one of the best teachers. Teaching the lithium riff but taking into account that D standard isn't really a beginner friendly thing was great. I wish I learned that song like that. 😂

Marty , I am a young man 😅 in my early 50,s and for the third time in my life trying to learn to play the guitar . My second try I had private lessons but didn,t work for me . I have collected a bunch of guitar books and guitars also in the past and recently started my 3 try …maybe because of my age I have more patience now , and finally its starting to work for me 😅. It's pretty crazy to think that I've been watching Marty since 2011-ish back when I walked into Guitar Center with my dad and picked out my first guitar. You really are appreciated. I've learned so many songs from your channels.
Really? Do you know any notes, chords, the fret board, chord theory, or what power chords are yet? Marty sure as heck doesn't teach any of that, the basics, day one stuff of any real music teacher! Its all fret numbers & string numbers with this guy, which is dumb, no real guitar player ever does or says what he does bc there is a much easier way! He is really teaching nothing! I urge everyone to please learn the correct ways & learn the things i first listed bc it is very important to become a good all around player & its a lot easier & faster.
Marty is my number one go for learning anything on guitar i find a song i like i find a tutorial the if i get stuck i search tutrial on what i get stuck on whatch bractice and come back finish the turial and im realy happy of what i achieve with each tutorial

Im pleased with my progress as a beginner you helped out a good deal. It’s coming up on the end of my first month and I’m playing 12 bar blues 3 chord songs and I can do the first half of the iconic Eddie Van Halen eruption tapping.. I appreciate all your help in my full on beginner stages

These videos are awesome. I have always wanted to learn guitar and now finally bought my very first guitar (electric guitar). And I think for beginner it is important to hear actual real music as fast as possible. It gives so much more spark to actually learn theory of music as well. If you just start from "boring" stuff right away, it might lead into quitting.

For everyone on here complaining about Lithium being wrong, learn how keys and octaves work before you complain. Except for the first chord being an octave higher (no choice without tuning the guitar down) he played it in the EXACT same key as the Nevermind recording. Play along with it if you think I'm wrong.
Sympathy can get even easier. A-shape power chord on the seven, A-shape on the five, E-shape on the five, back to A-shape on the seven. For the B, just do an E shape on the seven.
