I tried Moises for the first time. I play at a church that does gospel music that has some interesting chord changes. I would spend hours learning a new song and making sure that I was hearing it correctly. On Moises, having the chords visually "called out" for me, will save me A LOT of time.
i watched this video while at work when it came out earlier today, im over 30 songs into this program now. thanks so much for introducing me to this program, its a game changer for me.
I’ve been using Moises to prepare backing tracks for my bass cover videos for about 12 months now. It’s developed in leaps and bounds recently. It’s a must have
The other day I was asked to recreate a drum/bass loop of a hip hop song for a live performance. I had a hard time to hear the single drum elements in the mix, so I used the demo version of a similar tool RipX DeepRemix to isolate drums and bass. It worked perfectly. It's amazing what AI is capable to achieve these days!
RipX DeepRemix is an application you need to buy in contrast to the free Moises service. On the other hand, it worked as installed application on the PC, i.e., the song material didn't leave the PC whereas Moises requires you to upload the files into their cloud. In other words, you pay not with money but with song material, and I bet their T&C allow them to further use the uploaded songs, at least to refine their algorithms. A closer look is adviced if you work with client material to avoid copyright conflicts.
Regarding the mastering preference... I liked the original better as it seemed more punchy, perhaps because of less compression. But they didn't seemed level matched so maybe the slightly louder perceived volume of the orginal skewed my judgement. Regardless, they both sounded good and there was very little difference (youtube to my AKG K240 headphoes).
I would kid with my friends that Kanye always had software like this and I could only DREAM of having something like this day. THANK YOU! I only purchased this app because of this review. Didn't know about it before.
So a long time ago, I suggested a "new 256 track music format" where the record companies could go back to the original master tracks and record all the tracks independently. Call it GigaTrack256, or something, and make it extensible for future use. Then immediately go back to the Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, and Beatles tracks and re-publish them under the new format. Then listeners can not only listen back to each of the 256 tracks individually, but also make their own mixes using a digital mixer with automation. Then the record companies and artists could create additional revenue streams from all their old libraries with the new format... Not only that, but it would help prevent these tracks from being lost to time... Lastly, these tracks could be used to help train AI for better Moises/RipX algos.
It does a surprisingly good job, doesn't it? I fed it a mix of a song I recorded myself several years ago (rather than a commercial recording) to be sure that it wasn't cheating by using bootleg multi-tracks, and I was quite impressed. It's not quite good enough yet for real production work: there are still artifacts, glitches and spectral anomalies... but it's scary how good digital music processing is becoming. Certainly good enough for karaoke.
This app works when it wants to work. I often get connection errors when I try to upload full songs. But when I use a video that's under 1 minutes long it works perfectly. If not for the connect error issues I would definitely considering going premium. As a pianist this app has potential to be extremely useful for me
Just heard about Moises and found your video when looking for more info. Very well-done! I'm a guitar player and would like to use this to learn guitar parts and create backing tracks to play along with. One feature I didn't see you demo was the pan function. I'm curious if the software maintains the left-right stereo aspects of a recording. As a classic example, if I loaded an AC/DC song into Moises and isolated the guitars, would I get Malcolm if I pan to one side and Angus if I pan to the other?
I think you can put the stem into a multitrack DAW software of your choosing (IE. Cakewalk, Reaper) and pan it there as you like with no problem, then export it as an MP3 or another format when finished. Takes more time though.
So this app was good until they made it to where youtube music cannot be uploaded! I just tried today. I even deleted and reuploaded and I still get the message that the url cannot be uploaded now!
you guys at Moises have released something very unique, a dream for millions of musicians is becoming now true thanks to you. This app is simply awesome and probably the best the best audio technology i’ve seen since years. Congrats guys, you are amazing. Ciao from France 🇫🇷
As of July 5 2022 i was able to use any song from youtube . This is no longer possible, i got a message that url from streaming are bot supported. Any comments? Thanks
I use Moises for almost a year, and is a wonderful resource to practice, learn parts, making mock-ups to test things and so on. I paid for Premium almost first week!
why can't you see all tracks on a mixer board format and be able to have complete control over all tracks that have been separated, so I can re-mix anything on all the recorded tracks + add new tracks etc. Is that possible or maybe in the future?:
I have just started searching for an app to separate vocals and found this one among many. Although separating the vocals from the instrument helps some in what I'm looking for, it does not separate the vocals themselves in order to learn Harmony parts and that is what I am looking for
I already signed up for MOISES [did not even bother finishing this video yet!] it's amazing. This is the BEST stem-creator yet. (I've tried others) WoW! I'm a NOOB / Just learning to sing, so I need the Instrumental versions of songs
I purchased this a few days ago, and it has already made a huge difference in my ability to transcribe difficult passages. However, it does crash intermittently, and sometimes it gets confused about chords, and stops rendering them.
Inevitable artifacts aside, this technology is mindblowing. I'm also a music producer, and I think the more you know about audio engineering, the more you realise how crazy this technology is.
This is cool! I’m a new sub here. Stumbled into this channel…lol. I’m an older guy and I’m looking at performing in my later years after being a tradie in Australia all my life. Kids are grown up 👍😅 Love your channel. I’ve learned a lot about this software from this post. Much Gratitude 🙏
Where has this been all of my backing-trax life! I am from the days of the V-E (Lithonia, GA) there were some ROUGH times and the hardware was $$$$$. I could only afford the V-E, Jr. I sing a lot of Andrae Crouch music and he had the tightest backup singers. Vocal eliminators through the years, have gone from reducing the lead vocal to eliminating all vocals along with some instrumentation. Leaving you with a hollow-sounding backing track. I did not hesitate to buy the premium! My first test was Al Jarreau's cover of "Compared to What". "Solo Al" was gone, but "Bkgnd Al" was there with all the instrumentation! SWEET
How do I keep the Harmonizing...the Judds for instance...I wanna lose the main vocal but keep the harmonizing. Even my own original I want to make it Karaoke, how do I keep the background harmonies while eliminating the lead? It is Shana Lynn Walk Again...thanks
Just learned about Moises! I simply want to extract existing vocals, and then record my vocals to those existing tracks….how do I download songs to do this?
are you able to take out say a guitar Lead ? or any guitar parts ? I see there a thousands of Backing tracks Without guitar lead , was wondering if this is what they use ? ok thanks ...let me know...
I want to: 1. Rip a song from cd to my desktop, Windows 11, (I know how to do this). 2. Remove the drums using Moises. Do I need to let the entire song play with the drums removed? 3. I then want to import the drum less audio file into Cakewalk. 4. Play the drum less track while I record myself playing my e drums in a midi track, giving me the entire song with me playing the drums. Does this sound like something reasonable for me to do? Appreciate any help, tips. Thanks.
great video. Is it possible to download songs from my Spotify library? Also, is it possible to cut sections of songs and put the cuts into a new song to for example, create a 4 song band medley?
Wow, I'm learning bass and was looking for tutorials to remove bass from tracks with Audacity when I discovered your video. I had no idea that things had advanced to this stage. The premium subscription is actually reasonable enough for me to try out for a couple of months before seeing if it's worth going for the annual. Cheers!
Hello, is there a system to clean the split frequencies? Because when they separate they lack and lose something, they seem quite muffled, can you tell me something?? Thank you
This is just the thing that I've been looking forward. I am hearing impaired and have to listen and learn songs for church. Is possible to just play the bass by itself? Thanks for this. This is wonderful.
Hi, before I went for the paid option I uploaded the url from RUclips and all good… Niw paid for the “pro version” and the option to upload from RUclips isn’t there???
I have so many old songs that my band from the late 90’s early 2000’s recorded. Some mastered down to CD, some on old cassettes from 4 tracks, & some have 50 + tracks from our old DAW system. My bassist & drummer passed away much too young & we were never able to get very good recordings of several songs. Can Moises be used to separate the tracks & transfer to another app to re-record guitar tracks etc? I mostly want to save the original bass & drum tracks & build from them since they can never be re-recorded. Thanks for any help. I’m just now getting back into playing & am wanting to focus on remastering all of our old tracks but don’t know where to begin.
I can see this leading to copyright infringement in extracting samples to repurpose. Still, it was sampling that brought such creativity, like back to the earliest days of rap and hip hop. But positively, perhaps removing hisses and pops and scratches from old, early recordings, like folk and blues, would be amazing. And, permitting remixing classic rock that was limited to four or eight tracks, but bounced tracks down, bringing degeneration and muddiness - can now be fixed!? I could also see this for law enforcement trying to hear what the bad guy is saying in low quality recordings? How about for people with hearing impairment, removing some elements to make the spoken word more pronounced?
Pretty much what happened. Can’t use RUclips urls to upload tracks anymore so the only way I know how is to purchase the songs from Apple Music so it’s now becoming quite costly. Any other ideas?
@@pagodadrums LOL RUclips MP3 converter. Just type it in, there free, put the music on your device. And then just have them rip it from your device. LOL you're welcome and welcome to 2022. We're musicians don't get paid for their music.
We don't have an accompanist at church. Is it legal to drop the voices and sing along while the background instrumentation plays? For instance, things that are posted for free on youtube, it seems like that should be copacetic, but ... I don't know.
How is the support of their paid version? I am trying to ask them a question and the link to their help page says "not found". No email address or any other page where I can ask them, before buying the app. Is the vocal removal result better in a paid version via free one? I tried the free one and it left bits of vocal in, smudged all over the instrumental-unusable!
I was so hopeful but the artifacts are just so noticeable. The iso vocals would be bad for sampling, cutting, looping. It has a lot of cool features but as a Dj/Producer we are just not there yet. Thank you for the in depth review. I thoroughly enjoyed your breakdown. Have a great day.
I signed up for Premium. My music tracks will come from Apple Music - I've downloaded the songs from Apple Music to my PC in MP4 format and Moises won't take the file. How do you upload your tracks?\
Only problem... is there's no perpetual license option. Its all subscription based.. Id even rather pay per project cause idk how frequently ill use this
OK I am visually impaired with this app. I noticed that it does tell you the chords to play when you are playing this on a guitar however, does this app allow it to be verbalized on what cords are coming up or as you need to play them just wondering because I can’t have my wife sit here all day and tell me what chords to play I thought maybe that it would call it out Any info would be helpful
somehow i can’t access moises my review is 2/5 on the app review it was going good but then there was another face id and it failed and it went to something i didn’t even understand and right now it’s just loading
How to extend the time that's only the maximum time 5 minutes of track would last to play in Moises? Cos sometimes some of my tracks were more than 6 minutes and i dont know how to settle this problem Can you help Sir please?
EDIT: Can you separate guitar tracks I dividually as well, or are all guitar tracks lumped together? Thanks for the video! This app sounds like a dream for LOTS of reasons. As a guitarist that plays in Eb standard, being able to pitch-shift songs in other tunings into Eb alone is worth it to me. Let alone being able to hear isolated guitars to clearly hear pesky intricacies that get buried in the mix.
I played the saxophone. Can I eliminate the saxophone on a record? They always seem to be on the same track as the keyboards. Where I would like to have the keyboards still playing but not the saxophone.
A question please .. after editing vocals can I download the edited audio a a whole ? Would like to subscribe for premium in Moises .. so i like to know these detail. My intention is to create karaoke...
FYI when you download or bounce a mix make sure you select MP3 or M4A or WAV . I hadn't noticed. The default seems to be M4A and I got ticking noises when saved and played on an old Classic ipod. Anyway my 2 cents....
I want to re-do certain tracks and add effects on them and add new tracks like background vocals or guitar etc. and re-mix all tracks like on a consol and add bass and treble, midrange etc.?
Actually looking for a program that I can use when I'm playing out because I want to go solo. I found a couple of others but this was the first one I ran across. What are your dance and using this professionally at a gig
Hello and thank you for the useful video, however I am finding that the BASS does not seperate very well any any of the songs I try, the volume is low and I can hear bleed from othe rinstruments (very low though)
once I separate a track from its vocals, the instrumental looks very "poor" looking at the waveform. I believe once you get an instrumental you should master it. Possible to do it with Moises?
Ok I freaking paused when you asked what I want to use it for... First, I want to take old content from a few of my old bands and take out an "out of tune" backup vocals. I REALLY hope this is user friendly. I have been holding on for something like this in an app! Or am I expecting miracles?! Maybe lol
I’m a drummer and I’ve used this a app a couple of times. It’s a pretty cool app to use. However there is still a lot of room left for improvement. One, I thought when I subscribed for the “premium” account, I could upload as many songs as I wanted. However, I am also subscribed to Apple Music. So, either they are using an entirely different audio format than Apple, or I’m completely missing something.
To use a song from your Apple library, Moises app can only import a song purchased on iTunes and not a downloaded song from the Apple Music monthly subscription library. I hope this makes sense . I would include screenshots if I could 😅
Loved the app. Too bad it lost the ability to do track separation on RUclips URLs. I had a yearly subscription and decided to cancel it once the YT URL feature was taken away.
Hello! (Please HELP) I bought the premium account but when I try to put a song I export from the Moises application in WAV, my Ableton Live 11 lite refuses it… It says: This file can’t be read, it might be compromised or don’t have license. [File is corrupt] If you’d have any ideas about my problem I’d be so happy if you could help me, Thanks a lot!
This is correct even on a paid subscription with RUclips or Spotify. Is the expectation to dig out my old CDs? As you say, where else do people listen to music nowadays? Does anyone still have a "music library"? I can't buy this app because of this, even though it seems like a decent way to use the drum track for my cover band.
I can change the pitch of a song, but when I go out of the separated area, and go back in....or export the separated song, it reverts back to the original key? Am I doing something wrong? I don't seem to be able to save it in the new key
Hey Craig, thanks for your feedback! We're sorry about that! If you are using the Web or Desktop App, the track will revert to the original key. But if you use your phone, you can export the track with the new key! It’s something we’ve got our eyes on. Stay tuned for further updates!
Nice app. But can it be used to detect guitar solos in very noisy metal music? And then after that, can you have an audio file of just the solo? And also can I generate multi-touch guitar pro files with the proper transcription? If not maybe I can use melodyne or this other app to do the pitch detection for everything to then convert to midi. Then to import the midi to guitar pro? Also will it extract all the time signatures so it gives the proper meters when I import to another app? For example, I really want to transcribe all of the album "On Strange Loops" by Mitras so I can learn all the solos and rhythm guitars. But I would need all the proper time signature meters and all that. Would it extract time signatures from complicated rhythm music that does things like 7/4 time then switching to 6/8 time?
While separating the main vocals from the instrumental background, does this program (or some other program) have the option to separate the background vocals as well? If so, how? Thanks for your help.
So. For me, finding backing tracks for standards and songs that I like is impossible. The only option, as a solo guitarist, is to delete the guitar part(s) from the original recording and use the rest of the recording as my live backing track. An example: Joe Pass Tangerine. I have it preloaded, tap my footswitch to the track, and way we go. Now the challenge is getting that done asap. How I loathe switches and dials and all the tech. I'm a guitarist not a computer specialist.
If you run a song thru again and reduce vocals again, does it actually help remove the rest of the way? If there are bits of pieces left over from the first pass, does it sound worse?
I would love a program where I could submit my own song, with voice and a few tracks, and have it actually produce the music. This would be exceptional. I am a song writers and basic guitar player, and I write a lot of songs. But I always am in search for other musicians to be able to enhance my songs with better instrumentation. I give them three tracks, and they add drums, piano, guitar ETC, Do you know of any ai program that could do that for me? This would be great !!!
HELP! How do I change the key of the song AND download the tracks in the key I chose? I tried to do this but the app didn't change the tone in the downloaded files.
I tried Moises for the first time. I play at a church that does gospel music that has some interesting chord changes. I would spend hours learning a new song and making sure that I was hearing it correctly. On Moises, having the chords visually "called out" for me, will save me A LOT of time.

Fair enough!
I want to learn harmonies from a song. Can this also split vocals on a duet?
I signed up for Premium. My music tracks will come from Apple Music - I've downloaded the songs from Apple Music to my PC in MP4 format and Moises won't take the file. How do you upload your tracks?\
An absolute awsome app. no other app before was able to split vocals and background vocals. referrable program!
This sounds really cool Robert thanks for sharing.
somehow i can’t access moises
my review is 2/5 on the app review
it was going good but then there was another face id and it failed and it went to something i didn’t even understand and right now it’s just loading
How to extend the time that's only the maximum time 5 minutes of track would last to play in Moises? Cos sometimes some of my tracks were more than 6 minutes and i dont know how to settle this problem Can you help Sir please?
Very good app. Amazing how it breaks down a song. Its not perfect but future updates can only get better
Great demo! 🙌🏻
I played the saxophone. Can I eliminate the saxophone on a record? They always seem to be on the same track as the keyboards. Where I would like to have the keyboards still playing but not the saxophone.
Should work just fine
A question please .. after editing vocals can I download the edited audio a a whole ? Would like to subscribe for premium in Moises .. so i like to know these detail. My intention is to create karaoke...
On premium it will save the file, when premium expired are all save and done files will also be gone?
Are the separated tracks ready to be processed and made audio styles in APPS such as X-Mure?
I want to practice or make my own video of me playing any songs with the app.
will this work with a live show? can you load separated tracks back into protools to remix?
I’m not sure about that one. 🤔
FYI when you download or bounce a mix make sure you select MP3 or M4A or WAV . I hadn't noticed. The default seems to be M4A and I got ticking noises when saved and played on an old Classic ipod. Anyway my 2 cents....
I prefer the original before master. The drums are clearer and it sounds brighter in the original. The track separation is excellent though
Once the vocals are remove you will lose quality.
I want to re-do certain tracks and add effects on them and add new tracks like background vocals or guitar etc. and re-mix all tracks like on a consol and add bass and treble, midrange etc.?
Thanks for sharing I’ll try it you gave me the confidence
Actually looking for a program that I can use when I'm playing out because I want to go solo. I found a couple of others but this was the first one I ran across. What are your dance and using this professionally at a gig
I get a lot of artefacts. IS it better to use a native .wav file or are .mp3s good enough?
WAV
@@Homestudiosimplifed Thought so! Thanks!
Great video. Can I use Apple Music to download from?
No, I’ve tried. I can’t see the point of this app I’d it can’t process streaming services songs…really disappointed…
Maybe lol
Once the tracks are seperated, can you re-record a track and/or add another track?
Yep
@@Homestudiosimplifed okay, that's the one I need. Thank you very much.
Understandable. I’m not sure why they dropped that?!
All you have to do my friend is use a RUclips to mp3converter and then send that thru Moises. It bypasses that block. I do it all the time.
Hello! (Please HELP)
I bought the premium account but when I try to put a song I export from the Moises application in WAV, my Ableton Live 11 lite refuses it…
It says:
This file can’t be read, it might be compromised or don’t have license. [File is corrupt]
If you’d have any ideas about my problem I’d be so happy if you could help me,
Thanks a lot!
Not sure…
This one helped me a lot! thanks!
@@ulrika8198 hi does it works with you??
For some reason Moises doesn’t support URLs from streaming services, preferably RUclips…, Any suggestions?
Take a screen recording then upload that
Wont take songs from RUclips or spotify. How to get songs to the app?
This is correct even on a paid subscription with RUclips or Spotify. Is the expectation to dig out my old CDs? As you say, where else do people listen to music nowadays? Does anyone still have a "music library"? I can't buy this app because of this, even though it seems like a decent way to use the drum track for my cover band.
@@martyngilson i was able to just get songs from soundcloud
RUclips-mp3 converter...
Screen record :-)
Pretty cool program. Thanks for sharing!
Great tutorial! Elvis did a song “can’t stop loving you” in 1969 I’d love the backing track take… is it possible through this? Many thnx
Great suggestion! Try it! There's a trial version!
Rick Beato probably uses this or similar technology. Very nice!
Or adjust your key thru Stage Traxx 3 on your Ipad works well
Because they're all considered vocals... probably not.
I would love to use this app as to teaching vocal parts of songs and find actual keys of the songs.
I m trying bollywood songs to extrac tabla beats but all look blended with music unlike drums. How do i do please
Can the Stemz be downloaded great video by the way thank you for this😊
Indeed they can
I would love a program where I could submit my own song, with voice and a few tracks, and have it actually
produce the music. This would be exceptional. I am a song writers and basic guitar player, and I write a lot of songs. But I always am in search for other musicians to be able
to enhance my songs with better instrumentation. I give them three tracks, and they add drums, piano, guitar ETC,
Do you know of any ai program that could do that for me? This would be great !!!
There is a program called band in a box that does something sort of like that
HELP! How do I change the key of the song AND download the tracks in the key I chose? I tried to do this but the app didn't change the tone in the downloaded files.
Can a download song (e.g. from a CD), be uploaded into Moises 'asis'?
Can Moises split guitar tracks that have multiple guitars? If I want to split out a lead part? thanks!
Where do you get the songs that you want to bring into that software?
If a saxophone and a piano are on one track can they be separated?
