    We watch your videos no matter what, Jerry. It is you that entertain us, so just have fun with whatever content. Thanks for the demonstration of a recone. Not your first video on this content, but each time us bassheads see a recone video we are reminded of the key steps not to forget.

    So Debbie cooks you're dinner AND you're subs, wata gal! Can't go wrong with those Weller soldering guns, have been using them since the 60's! Great video!

    Jerry the best video/ build idea for you. is some sdrs in debs vehicle.(or any) Sdrs are (relatively) cheap. Views won’t be a problem, every entry level bass head and future entry level bass head wants a sdr review. That video will end up possibly being most viewed for you. At a small cost.

    I seen a post from a guy that used a thermal gun at one of the shows and noticed a lot of builds there running multiple alternators actually only had one working. You could see a huge difference in the thermal signature of a working vs dead alternator.

    Recipe cards work better than paper imo, its thickness is more true than paper. But reconning is definitely something that more Bassheads should be learning how to do proper instead of blowing and buying brand new each time.

    • @JerryAintloud
      @JerryAintloud  Год назад +2

      I prefer paper because of how thin it is, I can fine tune it better

    • @ChaosTherapy719
      @ChaosTherapy719 Год назад

      @@JerryAintloud the homie that taught me straight up told me that he's had recone failure with the paper method. And none of the recipe card aligned build failed and hold true. look up Anthony Vigil from Pueblo Colorado mang he's in his 20s and has us both beat in recone and sub building experience

      I use plastic shim stock. Works great and you can be very very exact because there are so many different thicknesses available.
      Also got a few sets of the jigs they use at the factories then 3d print some on occasion too but usually only do that with shifted motors.
      Paper is totally fine though.

    Just wanna point something out for anyone soldering a subwoofer in the future. I would put something between the leads and the surround because there is a chance that hot solder can roll off onto tye surround and it will melt right through the surround. I just know this from other times I've soldered things

    I don't do spl shows but I can tell you from experience you will know when a coil is going out you will smell it first and if it doesn't smell it will rub i always take my hand and put it on the dustcaps if they are hot I will play it lower so it can cool down this is another reason why I have 9 different subwoofers and amplifiers sitting in my garage its depressing when a subwoofer blows are amplifier goes out?Far as alternators it is what it is if you are a daily driver like me and you don't abuse your subwoofers they will last at least 5 to 7 years but in your case maybe a year or two

I built a custom box turned too 30hz it sounds really good. More people think i have 2 15s lol

    Had a question from your experience with DC clamp meters to do your alternators put out rated power hot or on average what amperage output do they put out hot at idle say .5-.7v down?

    • @JerryAintloud
      @JerryAintloud  Год назад +1

      It’s all gonna vary,if you’re not pulling a load it’s not gonna show much output, and when hot they’ll drop around 20% of output

    Have you ever used Auto Tech alternators? I'm looking to get a new HO Alt to replace my Ebay special alt I'm currently running. I'm asking about Auto Tech because they've got the lowest prices on the market but sometimes lowest isn't the best. So I'd appreciate your opinion or anyone's opinion really. Thanks!
