I’ve noticed exactly what u were sayin here. When my vehicle first starts up and my alt is in full charge to get the voltage up to 14.4 I can play full tilt and no clip indicator light but once I my battery charges up and the alt starts to rest some and the a long bass note hits and drags the voltage down the yellow light starts blinking. Makes a lot since thanks man. I need a stronger alt and cap bank to keep my voltage up and yellow light off. This was my reasoning for purchasing a single 15 with 4dvc so I can run my smart 3 at 2ohms until I can upgrade my electric then purchase another 4ohmdvc so I can go to 1 ohm load with double the surface area. Should be a hella big difference
I just discovered this channel today and installed my 1st amp/sub a couple days ago This may be a rabbit hole I didnt plan on. Cerwin Vega s91000.1d 500 watt 10 inch memphis I cant get this thing sounding good to save my ass. im getting 14.9v not running the sub Ill hook up my scan tool and check it when im pulling load on the system. I ran 4 awg OFC for power/ground to amp and added 4 awg ofc from 110v alternator to battery and battery to chassis. Im new to Columbia SC and dont know whos reputable out here to help me on this wild pursuit of premium car audio.
My crescendo bc4k is s&i and it has bassknob with clip light and i believe few of the sundown amps that used the s&i board also have clip light on there bassknob and the dc audio amps r s&i i thought and they have one also badass video man
Its soooooo sooooo soooo easy to clip like insanely easy to clip you need a clipping indicator I love these taramps they have built in protection monitoring and with the tarsafe remote indicator its an absolute game changer
I know it's old I just got 2 skar 18s evl . On a on a big boss 3k . Pretty much when I get in to bass yes my lights go dim so yea vot problem I just can't seem to get out of clipping and don't really want to spend money where money is not needed if that makes sense my gan is like a quarter of the way up if that and I start clipping should I just throw a bigger ault on or try a 2ed battery I am doing the big 3 at some point I know that will help some just want someones opinion that knows what there talking about
Actually music is NOT recorded with clipping in it , it can be recorded with distortion but not clipping because clipping is different then distortion Distortion is something that sometimes the music editor will add distortion of various kinds to flavor the song including the bass lines HOWEVER clipping is when the MOSFETs and or transistors have gotten to hot and are being asked to make more then they can and the biasing gets all out of whack and you end up with DC leaking into the AC signal and that DC is a speaker killer
I dont have a variable voltage thing so i gusss id have to take off a diode to set my gains at lower voltage. This is absolutely my problem rn, i set my gains at 15.8 but it drops hella hard like down to 14s, only using a 35ah lto bank on 7k, thinking if i make it a 70 ah bank it will fix the drop? Im already on a 320amp alt which is the biggest i can get
I have dual runs of 0 gauge wire running back from my front battery xs power d3400 I got 2 xp3000 batteries in the back and a mechman alternator and I'm running a audiopipe apdlo-30001d amplifier and my volts will drop to 13.1 sometimes I thought with the extra batteries and everything the voltage would stay better but it don't all ofc wire I got a video on my RUclips of what I got
xp3000 batteries suck Culprit is probable a potential compromised cell in one or both batteries. Go Lithium. These supplemental AGMs dont recover fast enough.
Jerry please excuse me for being dumb I've been inside for over 10 years and got out last year and everything in car audio has changed EVERYTHING and I'm slowly learning everything and upgrading anyways I just ordered my first EVER High output alternator and VCM 6003 from Autotech for my 19 Camry and I ordered a 30AH bank of the 75c SCIB 10AH LTO cells for a good power delivery to my equipment and I am in the process of installing all that stuff but trying to learn how everything works with the HO alternator and voltage etc so if I understand you correctly you are saying even if I'm going to charge around 16 I need to set my amp with my voltage turned down so that when the voltage does drop from the Bass it doesn't throw a clip light on the amp is that correct and if so what voltage would you recommend tuning my amps at if I'm charging around 15.8
I'm having a issue with my voltage drop. When I start car up voltage meter 15 volts to 14.8 when deep bass or some lows hit. It drops down to 12.8 with a xs power d3400 in the back. 145 amp alternator
My dad was trying his massive audio hippo 122 on my taramps md 3000 and my volts are stock 14.4 I have no extra battery and stock alt. It dropped to 11-10.9 volts
I know this video is old but I can tell you from my experience my voltage drops at a certain volume?my head unit goes up to 45 but its factory i notice right before i installed my amplifiers nothing changed over 35 so that tells me I shouldn't go beyond 35 if I don't want my voltage to drop so rule of thumb 75 percent of maximum volume which would be 33.75?35
Hello from Australia. Wound you be able to suggest a good amp thats 125w rms x4 at 4ohm to run my 4 rockford t3652-s components at there maximum im not in no competitions but i do like my music LOUD please
I need some help. I have the sfb1000 amp running a SA classic on 1 ohm. the amp keeps clipping. I sent it to sundown for testing. they said amp is good and issue is cause by bad rca signal from the radio and music source bluetooth. They said it was premature clipping. Is there such thing? How do I fix this?
My Problem is when I turn up the volume for a while my amp clips at around 8 on my radio and my phone fully turned up on the volume I play maybe 1-3 songs instantly goes to clipping and the amp is bigger then the subs so idk if my Issues is the voltage
see i was wondering with this i know it's old but i have a taramps bass 3k on stock alt but i have big 4 up front and im double grounded in back. all 0 single run of power and a d5100 xs power batt in back i drop to about 13.5 ish and it seems its always in clip. i plan on making a bass car cause the 2017 equinox only can get a single alt and max is like 270ish i wanna get a second one to run one per sub if i can and go with the flow lol
sup man excellent content, I have a newer jvc head unit that is rated at 5volt pre outs, checked them the other day and im getting 2.5 max with vol all the way up. restored it to factory setting and im getting no more than 2.5v. I can turn it all the way up and rca's will not send a clip signal to amp but my speaker outputs on the radio clip at vol 23 of 35 any idea why or any tips?
Awesome video, I was wondering if my amp puts out 2400w rms at 2ohm load, and I only wanted it to deliver 1400w rms at 2ohm load could I set my ac voltage coming from the amp to 52.92 volts to get 1400w or will jus put out 2400w at 2ohm load? Thanks
@BoobeeMyles cool that's what I'll do cuse I wanted to get a big enough amp for when I upgrade and run my new subs at a 1ohm load and will run my current subs at 2ohm load and jus use my Meter and set it to only put out 50v or so until then. Appreciate the help
@BoobeeMyles I was hoping I could do that ya know. Cuse I've watched videos of when guys set there amp gains and have there amp gain all the way down its reading like say 15v and they slowly start turning it up till the get distortion and back it down a little. So figured I could jus turn up little bit till I could to a voltage that only puts out like 1400 close to 1500w at my 2ohm load. I was looking at getting a Salt 3 but seen the Synergy wfo 3.1 looks pretty legit and alot cheaper which I don't mind paying for the salt 3 but heard alot tell me you paying a tax for the name lol
I use my multimeter to set my gain, go to harbor freight, they have pretty cheap multimeters, just disconnect your speaker to your amp & set it the same way you would, but while watching the multimeter to you specified voltage #
i had horrible voltage drop on a few songs my amp would just go into protect i have the big 3 done then i added a second battery problem solved (the amp was only 2k rms)
It actually sounds good without any other battery the voltage on the dash don’t dip past 14 anymore I need another voltage meter off the amp I know again money is right Friday I’ll have little extra cash I am getting a voltage meter for the amp and was gonna grab a car battery to run for now but figured I would see what your options are on that
I have an American Bass titan 1044 being pushed @2ohms by a skar rp 1200 (800 watts @2ohm) and i’m having issues with voltage drop. I drive an 06 corolla and I don’t know what’s causing it. The alternator is somewhere around 70-80 amps. I got the alternator tested and there’s no issues, and my battery is brand new (1 week old). The gain on the amp is less than half. I use 4gauge CCA which I fear has corroded on the inside to cause the voltage drop and clipping. I also think it may be the terminal connected to by battery that is slightly rusted/corroded. Any thoughts anyone? I’m at a complete loss at this point. Anything helps thanks ps before anyone says it no it’s not my ground
Run ofc wire 4 gauge is more than enough for ur amp. If ur battery terminals are beyond cleaning with a wire brush and hot water then just cut them off and put on new ones made from copper or zinc.
so my dad got me into subs and all and i have a set of L7s and there his subs i’m running around 14.5 when i’m not playing them when my trucks at normal run, it’ll drop to 14.3-.4 and i haven’t ever ran a ported box with L7s and i don’t have a clue what the clip sounds like i just wanna know if i’m all good or not?
You won't be able to hear the clipping unless if it is really bad, you would have to get meter to tell or if your amp or bass knob has a light for it. I'm not 100% about if you can hear it or not but it's just what I've learned
15 5 you don't want it or need it any higher any higher would just ruin your computer freak I'd be happy to be at 12.5 so I can go full tilt without clipping shit mine will drop to 10.4
foudn you from tiktok in 2024, takes time brother.

Good information 👍
Very helpful, thanks

my DS18 amps are made by S&I and have the clip light in the bass knob and it sucks.. i'm not mounting 4 knobs in my dash
Wow thank you did not know that. You my friend could have just saved me lots of money.
Thats why you always need to tune your amps at the voltage your going to drop too, i learnt this too a long time ago.
Its soooooo sooooo soooo easy to clip like insanely easy to clip you need a clipping indicator I love these taramps they have built in protection monitoring and with the tarsafe remote indicator its an absolute game changer

What about on stock electrical 14 to 12.5
Will you be at muscle shoals this weekend

Hey jeryy i have a sundown sa 15 and its on a 2500watt amp and my lights are dimming should i get a bigger alternator or should i get another battery
Big three and battery.. I'm running a sa also on a Orion xtr1500dz

If you have a subwoofer level on headunit turn it all the way up will give you 5v. Adjust the gain on amp accordingly
hey bro, do you have any playlists of songs with decent bass I could have a look through?
Can someone tell me why im getting my output voltage from my.amp PULSATING . on a test tone
