Absolute props to DD building their subs in the USA. I've been in electronics/cable fab for over 30yrs. A top notch fabrication tech is priceless and cannot be replaced by a machine that can do the same quality work. Not financially possible. Just for that alone I will be looking and DD subs for my next build and plan on all my builds.

@@patrickincharlestonsc4935 sorry it took a bit to respond. But I put a couple in my car and they absolutely slam. My electrical isn't up there so they're probably only getting like half power. And they're strong enough that my car is kinda falling apart now.

Do you have any videos for cutting out areas of burnt circuit board. I believe I've narrowed it down to a short near two Mosfets that keep blowing. Can an amp run missing two Mosfets? Might be a stupid question. I'm new at this but I'm not going to give up...

Hey im just paid for a set of Red line series 600 10” to go in a ported box under the seat of my 2018 f150 supercrew. I didnt know much about dd audio. The shop sell jl audio as well. They are building the box now. Did i make the right choice with the series 600 10” or should i have went with the 8w7 in a ported underseat box. The guy at the shop pushed the redline due to cost but i was not worried too much about cost. He said the redline 10 would out do the 8w7’s. Any advice would be appreciated. I have not had anything installed yet. Thanks.
You made a good choice on the subs we sell alot of them they will get down in that box I wouldve went with a fox acoustic box for under the seat they are one of the best when it comes to truck boxes . but I'm sure your shop knows what they are doing . you will be happy with the red line subs . I run the 9500 esp supercharged 12s on a dd m5 and a dd 4.90 on my mids and highs

Does DD do FEA analysis or Klippel? I am curious as to the engineering behind the different choices? Is there any thought given to distortion for SQ builds or just different options for SPL/ daily banger builds..?
No, they don't as far as I'm aware. They do real world testing in vehicle for prototypes and use their ears, and take less notice of measurements and even ts parameters.

As a die-hard MASSIVE AUDIO fan - i always looked at sundown, SKAR,incriminator audio, most of these brands as just overmarketed & more often than not -overpriced -but DD IS THE ONLY COMPANY IVE SEEN AS GOOD OF DEAL/ BANG FOR BUCK AND QUALITY BUILT AS MASSIVE IS... ID BUY DD PRODUCTS ANY DAY!
randall jr Benoit Incriminator is far from as marketed as Sundown (actually great product and Jake is a really killer guy) DD is Amazing. Fi is Amazing. Skar is...well it works lol. JL is market hype so are kicker,Rockford Fosgate,New Pioneer etc. But incriminator? Really man? Lol I hardly see it compared to Skar or Sundown 😆
randall jr Benoit sure only expensive ones positively listed were Sundown and DD however. The rest have subs that are as affordable as Massive. Massive Hippo is 400 dollars before tax. And a Fi Q Neo or blv3 will hit harder for less and be musical. And I’m not partial to any brand. Skar SD and FI both have subs that perform just as good and better than Massive. Competition records and prices prove that. Massive is good. But real world results kind of show what’s better in real world testing.

There is a extremely high joule discharge in a magnetizer, essentially like a minature EMP. You have a big bank of huge caps that you drive the voltage up to where you need it then you discharge it all as what my work called a shot. Then it's magentized. My work had an old 9ne that used a 1 1/4 iron bar and we have these triangle iron blocks to help focus the charge. Then get your North/South poles in the right direction, charge, then bang. A little thunk sound and viola. We use it to magazine our strengthen the magnet core of analog Meter movements. Ours isn't so precise then we put the meter movement in a pulsed demagnatizer, and slowly bring down the magnet field strength. Pretty sure their rig is set up for optimal parameters and they have those magnate zing boxes to optimized for the magnet motor.
It differs greatly with each manufacturer, which is why you can't really compare between brands you just have to try them for yourself or take advice from those who have used them. DD are one of the more conservatively rated brands.
Yeah, you cannot rate a voice coil for power at all. It's a thermal rating only. You just have to use common sense with power to the subwoofer. It will tell you when things start getting a little to much. Glue starts heating up and stinks, which is a quick indication that there is thermal failure in the near future. Many factors come into play with power handling. The thermal rating of the enamel, the type of wire, the former thickness and material, total windings in the magnetic gap, cooling capabilities and so forth.

This manufacturer launched its products in Brazil 10 years ago, it had almost all models equivalent to those made in the USA, but of low quality. Magnetic set of a DD15xx, 35xx, 99xx, Z series (neo) were smaller compared to models made in the USA, and I think the not very attractive prices made it not fall in the taste of the lowbass public. Not very attractive prices did not fall in the taste of the most lowbass audience, although it is true that in Brazil the vast majority prefer sound that plays in an open environment, similar to professional sound at musical events.

I called asking what I could do for coil rub on my sub. The person I talked to was rude and not knowledgeable about the product. He didn't even offer me a recone kit to purchase or anything. He said, "There's nothing we can do about it," and hung up on me. So I sold all my DD equipment and went with another company that has treated my family and I as family. We have gotten invited to weddings, been on the pod cast countless times, and have been treated very well! That company is SUNDOWN AUDIO!
Man 13w7s are beautiful subs! They're not the loudest or most powerful, but they're not trying to be. Don't blow them up. Sell em to someone who will appreciate them, and get some DD 9500s!

@@barevids Two of the same speakers, DVC in the same enclosure, one monoblock amp but one side of the enclosure sealed and the other ported..

they do the asembly by hand because the factory is not as big or as modern as other factories like Focal etc
