fire video. Your title has nothing to do with whats explained in the video and actually contradicts it. His career is taking on new heights and a better state than ever before because he is working towards his goal - becoming an innovator. If his goal was to be the "hottest", be the "king of NY" or "best lyrical MC", then yes he sabotaged his career. But thats not what he's chasing. He's working towards a higher purpose which is experimenting with new sonics and merging sounds that have never been done before. He's innovating, breaking down doors and leading the way for the next young generation to come out with something totally new and fresh inspired by his bold and risky moves. That's exactly how 808's was made (one of the most revolutionary albums that shapes modern hip-hop), by experimenting with new sounds that are true to the artist itself. This was a great video and explained everything very well, just sad that you had to resort to a click-bait title. Hope your next one is just as informative and un-biased but doesn't result to using a cheap tactic like a click-bait title.
Faseeh98 exactly, Rocky in some sense might of lost some of the hype he had during his mixtape era but rn we are seeing Rocky that genuine and will stay to true to himself and make the music and art he likes, he won’t make music that he doesn’t like for mainstream appeal, that’s why he hate songs like fucking problems and wild for the night, fashion killa. Rocky honestly deserves more respect for what he is doing
Faseeh98 Though hes been going in a very bold and innovated direction with his sounds, visuals and fashion choices,, rocky raps have decreased in value every project since the first mixtape.
@@RADIOACTIVEYOUTH fr, his first album is still my favourite which isn't really a bad thing but I was expecting that he would get better and better, he wanted to be mainstream so I can't blame him though.
In a way Rocky’s career trajectory is like MGMT’s. If you take out his mixtape and start with Long Live A$AP, the singles made Rocky well known, just as Kids and Electric Feel put MGMT on the map. With ALLA, Rocky experimented a little with songs like L$D, and MGMT wanted to make more experimental music with Congratulations. Their second albums are both their best to me, but with the third, such as MGMT’s self titled and Testing, both wanted to go in a different direction and caught some flack for it, even if they’re good projects. Overall, I’m excited to see where Rocky goes next.
The rocky leaks we’ve been gettin this past year are so fire Sweepin thru the cash remix Death wish Everything you want Bamba Smeegle Best of me Frankenstein Drop it Finally Free On my kickz Millionaire problems Etc etc etc! 🔥🔥🔥
Bro you are such a high quality content creator. Thank you for putting in so much work to make these videos, they are a true pleasure to watch. There is poetry in the way you construct your sentences. Succinct yet descriptive, it paints a strong image in my mind and it's absolutely wonderful.
Exactly. And as an English prof. I'd give this dude a solid C. Too many safe aphorisms and platitudes seeming to want to revel more in the act of critique as opposed to the function.
It’s soo damn refreshing hearing an artist say this. F*ck whatever’s poppin right now, I’ma do me. More artists nowadays need to adopt that attitude. The whole rap landscape is a giant assembly line. Everything just sounds the same.
Back when Long Live ASAP dropped, Rocky (and wheezy) got me into hip hop music and I truly Belize that he has a big cultural impact. And I can state that he improved my life in so many ways. I can’t get fed up by his music
I graduated in 2011 and now I realize, GOT DAMN we were blessed with amazing music. As for Rocky falling off, I see him more as going along the Cudi route and just doing what he wants instead of what sells.
Cudi fell off too. Travis took their spot. Cudi tried to get it back by collabing with him, getting matching tattoos with him & wearing a dress. Slaps are all that matter, & they dont have any
@@GStampedeIII nah, that shit is whack, but I still like the dude's music. I probably wouldn't like his politics either, but I can look past that and appreciate the art he creates at least. It's not like his fashion or politics was why I got interested in the dude
nah man rocky dont care about being mainstream he makes the music he wants and inovates and trail blazes rather than selling out and making genric main stream hits and dawg testing has aged so well
Testing was honestly one of his best purely based on he tested some new with no direction form Yams and he basically has lost half his family over the course of his career. Rocky made music in his moment, he has been under hella pressure, the box art set even shows it with a bunch of people looking down on presumably him. People doubted. and his record wasn’t liked by all but I honestly find myself today still going back to testing because it’s uniqueness and different sound for each song. In time it will be one of those gems.
1. Phoenix 2. Wavybone 3.ASAP Forever & Tony tone 4. Put that on my set & 1train 5.Suddenly 6.houston old head 7. Ghetto symphony 8.Canal st 9. Westside Highway 10. Multiply
Rocky's the goat man. His music is the future, he's always innovating. Each album he's released is so different even song to song, but they each have their own vibe it's crazy
It's very simple. When Yams passed the whole crew lost direction because Yams directed everyone's next move (mainly just the sound) If Rocky could link with SPG that would be an injection back to the hype of the A$AP crew
long live asap is my favorite album of his by far. i think he is underrated in music. there’s a lot of controversy saying how he’s not & that he hasn’t fallen off but i think that’s in his other aspects. he is an incredible artist musically & i think that’s what he’s underrated for. i cant wait to see what he puts out musically next
Testing is my favorite record of his, hands down. Instrumentally more interesting. Overall I like more songs on the album than other albums. Just me. A lot of the older beats sounds straight trash to me. Something you'd find from an amateur on Soundcloud. Yet he also had hits too. I dunno. Testing is just better and I like that's he was trying to experiment. When an artist finally sees that they have to grow and evolve, it's amazing. As long as they stay BRUTALLY honest to themselves and self-aware, but also stay true to themselves, then they have potential to make some incredible music and he's on that path. If he wants to, he'll become a true legend one day. Way bigger than now.
Lanier Burton he said it himself that after he recorded At long last, he stopped caring about making hits, that’s why he hates songs like wild for the night and fucking problems, I have respect for that because you know that his music is genuine and he’s not trying to makes songs to chart but rather music that he likes, a main reason why like testing because it feels genuine
Rocky didn’t sabotage his career. We just didn’t understand the creative process he was going through. I still believe rocky is one of the top talent out there.
Honestly A.L.L.A is his best work in my opinion. That psychedelic wave I wouldn't call a smart move but a wise move based on his own personal journey and I'm glad he had that control. He knows he will be chilling wealth wise in his life so if anything he gained full spectrum by dropping that mainstream ball that he held.
Rocky fucked up by claiming that he was following Yams blueprint when he was doing no such thing. Remember *Lords Never Worry* ? Thats what Cozy tapes should been. It should’ve had those same artist that Yams had under his wing. Aston Matthews, Da$H, Retch, other members of A$AP like Nast, Twelvyy. Plus Yams was fuckin with other niggas like Hoodrich Pablo Juan & PeeWee Longway before they blew up. Imagine if they would’ve been on Cozy tapes before they popped. Niggas fucked up and aint following Yams blueprint at all. Hell even Addie left the group. Nast dont drop music (once in a blue moon, but whats the point) and Twelvyy is barely better than Nast. Shit is a let down man.
I'm a fan, so rocky is relevant to me, he is doing good, testing was great just wait couple of years... he is just focused on different things, and i think he can go back to the old ways

On point, cool to see someone else who listens to mgmt and rocky
kennylovessbs And if this trajectory holds up we should get another amazing project soon from Rocky.
Blasphemy
"Testing" is an underrated modern classic... His visual rollout was incredible! 📽💓💥💥💥💥
Live.Love.A$AP is still legendary
It defines the early 10s rap era in my opinion. Probably the best rap release from the time.
"A cult artist cursed with a superstar's aura."
That's a perfect summary.
The rocky leaks we’ve been gettin this past year are so fire

💯💯 real fan $ection
Ronald Camasura all of it. And there’s more
Spicy title 👀 now time watch
Man what I like about Rocky is that he does his own thing. Doesn't follow trends btw he makes trends. That's why I respect this man
Rocky is a different type of artist..he never fell off...he's music is not the same bs u hear on the radio
Testing wasn’t an album, it was a vibe
Vibing in my recycle bin
Bro you are such a high quality content creator. Thank you for putting in so much work to make these videos, they are a true pleasure to watch. There is poetry in the way you construct your sentences. Succinct yet descriptive, it paints a strong image in my mind and it's absolutely wonderful.
The way this dude talks seems like he wrote this as an essay for a high school English teacher
Exactly. And as an English prof. I'd give this dude a solid C. Too many safe aphorisms and platitudes seeming to want to revel more in the act of critique as opposed to the function.
@@mzaestudiante lol
Testing rocky was him coming into his true self not only as a person but an artist.
This channel always has interesting topics like this one, a full plate for me in this quarantine lol
Testing was fire
I graduated in 2011 and now I realize, GOT DAMN we were blessed with amazing music. As for Rocky falling off, I see him more as going along the Cudi route and just doing what he wants instead of what sells.
Cudi fell off too. Travis took their spot. Cudi tried to get it back by collabing with him, getting matching tattoos with him & wearing a dress. Slaps are all that matter, & they dont have any
@@GStampedeIII that's your opinion. I still like Cudi's stuff
@@KendoExtendo11 do you like his new dresses too? 👰
@@GStampedeIII nah, that shit is whack, but I still like the dude's music. I probably wouldn't like his politics either, but I can look past that and appreciate the art he creates at least. It's not like his fashion or politics was why I got interested in the dude
nah man rocky dont care about being mainstream he makes the music he wants and inovates and trail blazes rather than selling out and making genric main stream hits and dawg testing has aged so well
A$AP Rocky changed the game forever, and that is not debatable.
The 5 goats of our generation are drake , Rocky , Sosa , Kendrick , and thug .
Im still bumping LSD, Peso, Been Around the World and Forever ASAP in my car
The testing music videos are insane though. Who else doing visuals like in ASAP Forever and Kids Turned Out Fine, and having it look more dope?
Testing was honestly one of his best purely based on he tested some new with no direction form Yams and he basically has lost half his family over the course of his career. Rocky made music in his moment, he has been under hella pressure, the box art set even shows it with a bunch of people looking down on presumably him. People doubted. and his record wasn’t liked by all but I honestly find myself today still going back to testing because it’s uniqueness and different sound for each song. In time it will be one of those gems.
asap rocky's music is timeless,he's an artist
Well not ALL his music. At least HE can admit it.
Your channel is turning me into a hip-hop nerd! 🤓 Your videos are sooooo good! 🔥🔥👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
IMO: Phoenix is his best song
Truely, honestly 😪😭
Suddenly to me
It really is. One of my favorite songs of all time
1. Phoenix
2. Wavybone
3.ASAP Forever & Tony tone
4. Put that on my set & 1train
5.Suddenly
6.houston old head
7. Ghetto symphony
8.Canal st
9. Westside Highway
10. Multiply
Te$ting is mad underrated. I hated it on first listen, but when I went back to it I loved every song on there. I wish I could get it in vinyl
Rocky gonna be #1 next album, testing was amazing and underrated
100%
I love all the positive comments because Asap rocky is so underrated since 2012 he will never stop setting trends
rocky does his own shit I respect him for jumping into fashion. Testing was a good album, it doesn't matter if it didn't hit number 1
Rocky's the goat man. His music is the future, he's always innovating. Each album he's released is so different even song to song, but they each have their own vibe it's crazy
The first tape will forever be a classic
The testing aesthetic was ahead of its time
Great video!
I missed this channel. Where've you been?
Yo these videos are amazing!!!
The first rocky song I ever heard was lvl and I never switched since 💯
bruh anybody who says Testing was bad doesn’t understand music properly. It’s next level
an icon in my eyes. staying true to the craft is an act of rebellion and courage in this day and age, cudos to you rocky.
Rocky videos are soo underappreciated, they are all quality,
testing is so underrated
Flopped
Testing is honestly really good. Some wont understand which is understandable.
It's very simple. When Yams passed the whole crew lost direction because Yams directed everyone's next move (mainly just the sound)
If Rocky could link with SPG that would be an injection back to the hype of the A$AP crew
purrp and the mob will never be cool again too much stuff has been said and done from both sides
Wild for the night is still ahead of the time 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
1:22 dawg i know u just learned all them words today
Rocky just ahead of his time.
Testing was one of his best albums
Very nice vid hip hop madness
Hiphopmadness uploaded? Finally?
long live asap is my favorite album of his by far. i think he is underrated in music. there’s a lot of controversy saying how he’s not & that he hasn’t fallen off but i think that’s in his other aspects. he is an incredible artist musically & i think that’s what he’s underrated for. i cant wait to see what he puts out musically next
Nice research bro
This is so well written, loved it
He could’ve been a huge hit maker 🤦🏾♂️ he literally had it all , that first mixtape was iconic
Axel Martinez ye he said he deleted a song because it was too catchy and it inevitably be a hit
caligula yeah I saw that too, seems like he’s serious about it
Rocky has his different fan base
Love from India🇮🇳
psychedelic rocky is a top 10 artist of all time
Rocky visibly/image-wise will be as important to hip hop culture as Tupac was
I actually like his singing type tracks, sundress/L$D ect
Rocky didn’t sabotage his career. We just didn’t understand the creative process he was going through. I still believe rocky is one of the top talent out there.
Honestly A.L.L.A is his best work in my opinion. That psychedelic wave I wouldn't call a smart move but a wise move based on his own personal journey and I'm glad he had that control. He knows he will be chilling wealth wise in his life so if anything he gained full spectrum by dropping that mainstream ball that he held.
rocky is so under appreciated
For good reason, he sucks and hates his own race.
live love asap is his best project and underrated. the beats are druggy and a great experiencw
Piekark underrated?? it’s considered one of the greatest cloudrap tapes ever. lol nobody is underrating it
Evan Serrano underrated within Rocky’s discography. It’s my favorite one of his project’s, as a whole.
its probably top 1 mixtape overall for me
Live Love A$AP is one of the best mixtapes I've ever heard
HiphopMadness has the most click bait titles
I love that rocky gets involved in fashion
I'm a fan, so rocky is relevant to me, he is doing good, testing was great just wait couple of years... he is just focused on different things, and i think he can go back to the old ways
He needs to drop this year
