Beautiful! Patty, who has the channel Rxstarmom, is 82 or 83 and loves it as well! Like you, I’ve been relying on tints all summer but it’s time to pull out the Elf pretty soon! Hugs ❤❤❤
Hi Dez just found you on RUclips, what a breath of fresh air, so easy to listen to & amusing to boot! Nice to find a mature lady telling it how it is. I'm 66 and all your comments resonate so we'll, have just subscribed many thanks Jan xxx
Dez…. 72 years young here and I love your channel. Your honest content is both helpful and refreshing. Have to tell you about Nanny, from their channel…Nanny and the Moose ( her husband). Nanny has been using the Elf Soft Glam and loving it. She is a fabulous 87!! She is an amazingly accomplished woman, a great grand mom and and inspirational joy. Nanny talks a lot about this journey of more birthdays with a seriousness and a healthy dose of reality and humor. Thanks again for all you do….Check out Nanny and The Moose🥰💄
Thank you! Hope you like it- it would have been good to try it out in store but hard to find in the UK. Still, if you can return it if it doesn't suit, that's something ❤️
Hi, use a tiny brush to apply the concealer in that deep area under your eyes so there’s no shadow. Let dry first, then go over it and pat up with your fingers. I learned that from one of Wayne Goss videos
Wow Dez, I now will try this foundation as it looked so good on you by the end of the day. I’m also so jealous of how much blush you still had on after 11 hours as my skin seems to eat blush! Thank you for all you do.
I *am* going to give ELF a try! I was so excited to see you were going to model a foundation. I'm olive completed like you are, and have had a terrible time finding a good neutral. Sometimes I've even mixed my own, but that's not a long-term solution. So I'm impressed with your makeup in this session. Thank you for showing it!
Found you quite by chance and really enjoying your content. I am a young 73 and loving life. Have just ordered the Elf Soft Glam Satin Foundation and the concealer..... fingers crossed :)
I live in the US and have tried this foundation - Elf Soft Glam Satin Foundation - I love it! This is the first time I have viewed a video of yours - I have just subscribed to your channel. Thank you, Mary Lou Silk, Pittsburgh PA (US)
Try the light warm shade which is the shade down from the one you tried. I also tried the light neutral and it was too light for my skin so I went up to the medium warm which made my skin look orange ish. I then went back and bought the light warm shade 24 and it was perfect. I love it. I have a warm skin tone but have got paler as I got older. I'm 60. Thanks for your videos. Really enjoy them ❤
Omg, Dez, the ELF Soft Glam Satin Foundation looks so beautiful on you! I'm so happy you love it! I also have a "bald" spot on my eyebrow, and that Laura Mercier brow pencil has me intrigued. I find that at the end of the day, my brows disappear. I'm definitely going to give it a go! Thank you so much for giving me a shout-out, my beautiful friend! Sending hugs to you from across the pond! Much love, Cat xoxo ✨️ 🌸 ❤️ 🥰
Hi Dez, I couldn’t click on this quick enough when I saw you had tried these !! I have the shade 25, and 21, 25 with a tan, and 21 for winter. Not actually tried a full day wear yet, as like you, am using skin tints still. But it looks great, I watched the pampered wolf video, I love Jan, her mum, she looks amazing for over 70. For the price, whats not to like !!! Please keep the fringe, it suits you. 😊x
Of course, I remember you mentioned it a few vids ago. When I saw Jan raving about it I had to give it a go. And doesn’t she look great! Love her hair colour too. And as you say, for eight quid 😏❤️
I love your recommendations and will certainly try the Elf foundation. I have bought, and loved, two pairs of jeans you recommended as well. Yours is my favourite you tube channel.
Hi Dez. 65 year old makeup junkie over here in Texas😅. I’m a fairly new subscriber and I LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel 💕 You’ve convinced me to give this foundation a try. Thank you for all the foundation info. I thought your makeup turned out beautifully!
Absolutely beautiful the foundation is very pretty on you & the price is amazing it’s a win win situation I picked up two as the first one was a tad to pale Thank you for sharing ❤
Love it..looks very natural and I was introduced to this Elf makeup with Rockstar Mom Patty from the States who is actually 81 and it looked flawless on her as well..got to try this for myself at 77 liking the natural glow look💕
Just stumbbled across your channel, what wonderful review. You speak so well and as 59 year old who has in the last year developed keen interest in learning about make up and application. Have subscribed, With thanks Eva , Worcester U.K.
Finally had time this morning to have a cup of coffee with my beautiful friend! Ok, you have convinced me to try this! It looked absolutely beautiful on you! I also saw Gemma’s Mom say it replaced her super bougie foundation and it definitely made me curious. Thanks for sharing this review with us Dez!
I came across your channel a few months ago. I am now subscribed and also to your newsletter, which I really enjoy. I am about a month younger than you and also share your name. After watching one of your recent videos where you were wearing your Bee necklace, I immediately got out my identical necklace that I hadn't worn for a long time. I am wearing it now. I will most certainly be giving the Elf foundation and concealer a try. 😊
Aww Debra, lovely to meet a fellow Deb! I only bought the bee necklace very recently, and I love it! Hope you like the foundation - and the newsletter ❤️
Hi Dez. New subscriber here and loving your videos. I’m racing toward 74 and have just purchased the Soft Glam foundation. I think I went too light but as you say “at £8 it’s not a great problem”. Love the VB eye stick. I’ve just started wearing an eyeliner after many years and would be tempted to try some eye colour now. My issue is as a glasses wearer any mistake is magnified so much I stopped using anything but a good mascara. I feel a shopping trip coming on! Thank you. X
Hi Dez! You look so much younger than your age! I’m excited to see what you think. I usually love skin tints but lately I’ve been wanting to have a little more coverage without cakiness. ❤
Wow, I love it. It looks so awesome on you. I recently bought two shades. I only put it on at home. I haven’t wore it out yet because it’s too hot in New York City and humid. I’m a skin tint girl in the summer and mostly around. Actually I haven’t worn foundation in years.
The same concealer was so bad fir me it looked dry and creases in minutes. After a week I declattered it, that bad. I bought the Catrice hydrating concealer, I am trying it niw for 3 days. Jts O.k. This ELF foundaion look lovely, and you achived a beautiful look.
I just purchased my 2nd lancome stick foundation in an different shade to my first. I was considering the new Dior stick but opted for lancome again. I'll definitely try the Elf Soft Glam next and the concealer. The bane of my life is the undereye area.
Hello, Dez - I'm so glad that someone my age (you) reviewed the ELF new foundation. Even before the end of your video, I'd gone to their Canadian website and chosen my colour. Miraculously, it's only $10 Canadian, so well worth a go. Thanks again - and have a lovely rest of the week - Ruth
Ah great, I hope you like it. I'd been meaning to but it slipped down the to do list. You have a lovely rest of your week too - weather here continues clement 😊❤️
Hey Dez, the foundation looks fanastic on you. Have you ever tried adding a primer to your "troughs" I dont have troughs but do have circles and I find when adding a primer it sort of fills in the circles a bit and the concealer goes on smoother. Its like prepping a wall before painting, we fill in the holes before painting over them LOL. I also use two shades of concealer, a lighter shade inside the circles so they dont look as deep. I hope you dont mind these suggestions!
Gosh thank you and no I hadn't thought of that *adds primer to morning makeup*! I do have a couple of primers but they tend to get forgotten about - I will definitely try this technique and report back ❤️
Very nice finished look, Dez! I confess that I usually don't wear foundation... haven't since age 21, when my derm advised against it, even the water- based type. I miss it, but, I often wonder if it would might make a huge difference. I do like the feel of "clean skin" ( just sunscreen and concealer), but, I'm not sure. Usually, it's a tinted moisturizer with a good SPF in it. Undereye concealer can be challenging; that elf one is a bit thick. I do like Maybelline Fit Me..much lighter, but, good coverage. Love the lip combo! TFS; hugs. Rosemarie 🩷
Thanks so much Rosemarie! TBH concealer used judiciously on complexion can work just as well. Not tried the Maybelline Fit Me, but I will add it to my list of products to try - thank you!
Thank you! My skincare consists of hyaluronic acid, followed by Vitamin C, followed by Cerave moisturiser followed by an SPF. If you have dry skin you may need a slightly heavier moisturiser - my skin is normal. Love that lippie - looks similar to the BK Beauty lipstick, which for me is a little too matte, so I also add a gloss. That is a really impressive foundation - definitely trying this one. Will let you know how it does on my old skin! Interesting to see you have decided the CT Powder is the best - I do agree, and love that it comes in a mini size. The Victoria Beckham shadow stick also looks like a winner - I wonder if it's available at Duty Free?
WOW she says its better that CDP? I did see it in our drug store but still didn't get it yet. The foundation looks so good on you Dez! The whole makeup look. And after 11 hours... nice! Ok I do need to try this. Thank you Dez for showing us. Happy Wednesday XOXO
Hi darling Dez. For some reason, I wasn't crazy about the new Elf foundation. I can't put my finger on it, but I think it gravitated towards my dry spots and clung to them. Dez, have you tried the Hourglass loose powder under the eyes? I think it's phenomenal! I wasn't a fan of the mascara either, but it looks fabulous on you! Don't hate me, but the Pillowtalk liner and lipstick turn orange on me, but I love the Pillowtalk cream shadow. As usual, your makeup looks incredible!! ❤❤ Sleep well. Sweet dreams. 🥰😍
Oh no, what a shame about the ELF. I haven't tried the Hourglass loose powder, only the new-ish pressed, but I'm going to have to now, aren't I 😏How could I hate you - I do like the Pillow Talk liner but actually my faves are the Lisa E's - she's got some fabulous shades. Sorry I came to this today, had to take to my bed early last night ❤️❤️❤️
I hope that you are feeling ok. I can't seem to make it most nights past 9:30. Then again, I'm up between 4 & 5. No big deal about the foundation. I think I'll give it to my younger daughter. It might suit her better. I've not tried any of Lisa Eldridge's makeup. I should grab something, but truth be told, I need nothing! Have a great night. Much love. 💖💖 @beautybydez
Hi Dez - did you put the liquid blush on over the CT powder? Didn’t realise you could put liquid over powder x I’m looking to order CT powder is medium as I usually go for a medium foundation - what would you recommend for large pores please Dez x x
Well, no, not really, as I dont tend to powder my cheeks, just my T-zone, but I should you could - I think it's just a case of going in gently and lightly. Re pores - I think the key is a primer. I'm loving the Huda Beauty primer at the moment, the new one - it's a gel like formula but seems to work really well even under my eyes ❤️
You look fabulous. @rxstrnom at 80 loves the Elf. I'm planing on testing it out also. The whole look is really beautiful. I also love the VB Shroom. It looks wonderful on you. So I'm planing on buying a bunch. PS. I tried to send you an email but the one on the newsletter didn't work. Is it me or you?
Thanks so much Sandy! I would give it a go, for $8 you can't really go wrong. I've been a naughty girl and bought more VBs - I think I'm turning into a huge fan! More reviews coming, natch. Re emails - very odd - try thisisbeautybydez@gmail.com no dot after the com - someone else had the same prob, so it could be me 😏

Dez I just adore you and could listen to you all day . 😚 takes me away from my daily stresses and worries . Gosh ❤ Anyway I recently learned that a concealer thats got a pinky undertone is best for counteracting dark circles and can you believe they call those irritating areas that collect the concealer Troughs 🫢
You say the nicest things, Hilary - I keep wanting to call you Hills and have to stop myself 😊 And oh lordy, troughs - how delightful! I keep forgetting the word "congealed" but that's what happens to my concealer - it congeals! I must try out my latest colour corrector to see if that makes a diff.
I bought this product after watching you I am 75 this is the best I have used thank you
Beautiful! Patty, who has the channel Rxstarmom, is 82 or 83 and loves it as well! Like you, I’ve been relying on tints all summer but it’s time to pull out the Elf pretty soon! Hugs ❤❤❤

Dez I just adore you and could listen to you all day . 😚 takes me away from my daily stresses and worries . Gosh ❤
Anyway I recently learned that a concealer thats got a pinky undertone is best for counteracting dark circles and can you believe they call those irritating areas that collect the concealer Troughs 🫢
You say the nicest things, Hilary - I keep wanting to call you Hills and have to stop myself 😊
And oh lordy, troughs - how delightful! I keep forgetting the word "congealed" but that's what happens to my concealer - it congeals! I must try out my latest colour corrector to see if that makes a diff.
@@beautybydez oh that hilarious I have many people who call me Hills 😻even a very handsome ex boyfriend 😂😂😂😂
Gosh I would be in trouble if my dentist was up the road from Selfridges 🥴😬😧🫢😉
The struggle is real 😂
