Risa, you've been my favorite beauty youtuber for years. I love to watch your videos for tips and tricks on makeup, but they're also a great comfort on mental health days.
I'm a 65 yo woman with dark gray hair and normal to dry cool toned skin. Being retired and on a budget I really want to love elf but have found it to be a hit or miss brand for me. The things I like I really really like! Your tip about using bronzer in the eye crease is something I started doing last spring with another brand which wasn't quite deep enough for the hollows of my cheeks. (I hate throwing makeup away if it's not expired - I'm big on reusing it by blending with something else or using it for a different purpose). Although our looks are very different I have learned so much about techniques and product application from you. Thank you SO much!! ♥️
Wait until you’re 81 like I am. Brain fog is really annoying. Loved this video. I use Ulta eyebrow pencil in ash taupe since I have salt & pepper hair.
I’ve liked everything I’ve used from ELF. At 72, even w my new glasses I can’t read very fine print on makeup-so, I leave pencils & small items in the box for reference. You look gorgeous in any brand you apply. Applying makeup on older skin isn’t as smooth & quick. I’m very slow. It’s like driving on a dirt road, you have to slow down for the ruts & bumps. I enjoy your videos! 🌻
All reading this note walking around 5 miles a day reduced the dementia rate in those aged 40-79 for seven years. The best advice is to label this five mile walk as self-care instead of as exercise. Take that as a primer ;) love to each
Very pretty! What I like about you is that you aren't afraid to style your hair! I don't know why most creators have to style their hair the same, all the time - all pulled forward. Thank you for being here for me !
Yesss that drives me crazy. I don’t know how those women can put on a full face of makeup with all their hair pulled forward 🤦🏻♀️ Then they always play with it constantly, pulling it forward, putting it all back, then pulling it forward again, then messing with their long bangs lol it sometimes drives me crazy enough I can’t even finish the video 😂 depending on my mood lol
I am 48, from SLC. We have the same skin type, and since we both live in dry climates what usually works for you, works for me. I think you are amazing. I appreciate the fact that I see myself represented in you. Keep it up!
Risa, lil tip from a fellow mature, larger pored, smoothing effect needing person re: Poreless Putty Primer...I recommend you try the LIQUID poreless putty primer, there is the more emollient kind in the tub that, in my experience, doesn't work as well for us oily-skinned gals. xoxo! great video!
I use the elf eyeshadow primer and I love it! I too have very oily skin. It does dry down quickly. I then put a pressed powder over the primer. My eyeshadow stays great all day.
If I may do a request...Could you please do a vlog concentrating on serious undereye hollows? You do not have any but as a pro, maybe you could give some good recommendations. Love your vlogs!
Beautiful final look 🌸 I have been using the Brow Wow for years. My thin eyebrows have no tails and this is the best brow product I have ever tried, including Glossier and Benefit ❤
The brain fog struggle is REAL! I felt that brain freeze right there with you as it has been a constant struggle the past few months. Love this look and agree that the second powder definitely got rid of your pores. This was an amazing look using ELF products. Another great video!
Elf does have a good tiny brow pencil! It is better than the white packaging, it comes in a black pencil! Try it, it’s great! Thanks for a beautiful look! ❤
I loved your recent video on doing shadow on hooded eyes. I have almost mastered it. I use the Almay micellar pads instead of a Qtip to remove the excess and fallout.
Thumbs up to your false nails explanation- I do the same! 😂😂 Thank you for taking the time to teach us your make up techniques, really enjoy and learn from your YT channel!
I absolutely love the look you created with e.l.f. products!!! I'm going to try to replicate it. Thank you for this video. It's very helpful to me because most of my makeup is e.l.f.
Risa, ELF makes mechanical Ultra Precise Brow Pencil with a very fine point for $6. It only comes in 4 colors and I think Taupe might work for you. I favor cool brown for my coloring. Anyway, you can make hairlike strokes. I like it far better than NYX and I haven’t purchased the ABH Brow Wiz for almost 3 years.
I am 46 and have always had oily skin. As I’ve aged it is even more oily and add large pores to that and, Bam!, we have the same skin😂 I had the same issue with the Elf foundation, not a fan. I’m definitely going to look into the Huda powder!! Thank you!
Risa, this was such great timing! I have most of the ELF products in todays video and just yesterday the eyeshadow palette arrived, so now I can play around with it with you as my guide. Thank you 😊💕
The bronzer and Wow Brow are two of my staple products- affordable and get the job done. I’ve bought multiples over time. I just ordered the foundation and hoping I chose the right shade. I should now in a few days when it arrives. Thanks for the video.
Great video, thank you! I recently discovered Laura Geller baked foundation, have you ever tried that one? I have been looking for videos of people’s thoughts regarding this brand. You are one of my favorite makeup and lifestyle reviewer’s!
Love your videos from Australia 🇦🇺 I love it when cheaper type products look good and go on well. I’m hopeless applying eye makeup. Love the eyeliner ❤️
Risa thank you for all your videos. I learn so much. Not sure mine will of course look like yours but I’m anxious to try I’m 72 with great skin so maybe I can look as gorgeous as you do thank yuy again for all your hard work for us 🌺
For a decent drugstore powder for us oily gals, I encourage you to give the newish Morphe Bake & Set powder. I actually didn't expect much from it when I purchased it, but it does a really nice job of mattifying and blurring pores on me without looking dry or cakey.
Beautiful look on you ❤Risa love this video because drugstore is my friendly budget 😂😂the ultra precise brow pencil from Elf is my holy grail is tiny and soo good with the wow brow gel.
Risa, my intuition is telling me to share this. You are thinning around the temples and front exactly as I was when I hit the big M. I have now started to use finasteride, duasteride, and minoxidil together because I found out from my hormone doctor that I needed testosterone, but it was causing me to create DHT, which was making me have the male pattern thinning in the front. As soon as I started using this product, it stopped thinning in my hairline is so thick now. And I was going through this for like two or three years and crying because I had to use root spray to make it look like I had hair in those spots. I really suggest it and Musely sells a formula that has the finasteride and duasteride in it which blocks the DHT. I have the feeling that is what is causing your issue that you mentioned in another video. The only side effect is that the peach fuzz on your face will get a little bit thicker but it’s not like whiskers or anything. And so you have to do the face planing a little more often to get the peach fuzz to chill out, but I am so happy because I was getting to the point that I was thinking I’d have to get a topper or something and it completely reversed this situation.
I appreciate the recommendation as I am thinning a bit, but it’s also been around 7 weeks since I last had my hair colored, so the hair that is there is very very light gray making it look thinner than it really is! I will look into what you recommended though!
Risa, I do press ons and use Magic Off by Dashing Diva to take off my nails. Also, I’m wondering if the eyeshadow primer needed to be squeezed in the tube to mix it up. It may have separated. I appreciate how close up you do your application videos. It makes you so much more relatable to see your broken capillaries and skin imperfections (no offense intended). I’m 55, so the brain fog is real. 😅
I like several Elf products including their skincare. I wear glue on nails all of the time. I soak mine off in warm water with dish soap and a little oil. I don’t rip them off and I don’t end up with damaged nails.
I absolutely loved your most recent hooded eye tutorial- works like a dream! Can’t thank you enough 🙏. I love so many ELF products - they are definitely one of my favourite drugstore lines. I recently picked up their new single shadow shimmers and they are STUNNING- pack a punch for sure. I have a lot of high end shimmer shadows including Urban Decay Space Cowboy and these ones from ELF can hold their own for sure- highly recommend . I much prefer their Lash Extend mascara over the Lash n Roll. Such a pretty look! Xo 💕
Brain fog is definitely a real thing for me too! Lol! I really enjoyed watching you do your makeup using the Elf products. Your look turned out gorgeous! ❤️🧡💛
Hi Risa, boy I'm with you on menpause, it's not night sweats it's all day long. Enjoying the 1 brand ELF, I too have waded thru their products that are Fabulous! I love the lover cost. Some products are just yuck....every line seems to have the good and bad..their holy hydrating is just enough for my oily skin.😊
26:38 I’m so glad I watch your video. I ordered the elf glam foundation & I got 21. It said neutral & has some yellow in it. I have light skin & im going to get 25 too. It really does look more neutral. I’ve always wanted to buy the glow drops too, & I was thinking about mixing them together. No body else has done that on their channel. Ty, for reading my mind lol
Oh! I agree! I hate that they don't have names. The cream blush doesn't either. I love the lip liners, but have no clue what color they are to replace. Ugh!
Really like what you did with the ELF products. I really like the CAMO CC cream in color 205 N. Its perfect color. Although, I do not look my age, I am 56. Really enjoy all you videos. xo
Omgoodness I wish they would label ALL of their products with the name if the shades. Recently though I have been using one if my mini Happy Planners to write down in category all of my makeup products and shades so that I can put a star next to the ones I really like for repurchase purposes. But still, I realize that won’t work now as I am writing this, unless I actually label the product ugh 😑 Anyway, I so appreciate you pointing this out Risa! It will be very helpful to me. I recently bought their cream blush with the little sponge applicator. It is very pigmented so it did have a learning curve. But I have been very happy with it now! 🥰👍
