I'm 72 and just started this, it's the first ever foundation that hasn't settled in my lines, I love it, I have used the pore putty with it which probably helps and I use a little e.l.f. setting powder. People have noticed! Thank you ❤
I bought it a week ago after seeing your inst saying it was launched and was so surprised, I loved it for 8 quid ! 46 menopausal women with combo skin, who wants skin like foundation ❤
THE best foundation I’ve tried in the last year bar none. I’m still shocked at how effortlessly it applies when I typically have trouble with pilling, streaking and clinging to dry patches across all brands on a regular basis. I have oily/combo skin and it does get dewy, yet (using setting spray) it did not break down and look crazy in 95 degree heat. Tentative holy grail status. 🤞
I am almost 71. Technically I have combination skin, but I think of it as oily. I inadvertently had the best wear test today. It was 114° and my car air conditioner died. You are right, it is not transfer resistant. So while blotting the sweat off my face with a Kleenex took off some of the foundation, I’m amazed how great it looked at the end of a long day of errands. I struggle with large pores and age spots. This gave good coverage with the addition of a concealer. I paired it with the elf halo glow setting powder. I’m impressed!
I am 60, dry skin with slight rosacea, especially on my nose. I am fair to light, mostly neutral but some cools will work for me. First I got 13 neutral but it was a bit light. I skipped all the way to 20 cool and it’s a great match. I found it better to apply with a sponge first. Let it dry down just a bit, and then do another thin layer on my problem areas with a brush. I like it and also found that the liquid putty primer works very well with it. Not the best coverage I’ve had but far from the worst.
Yes and I was wondering how blush lasts when foundation sits on face rather than sinks in plus being transferable. I am dead without blush. Gonna go find out though. Bought it.
I love this foundation on my 62 yo face. I have combo skin with lines/wrinkles. I used it over the liquid putty primer and applied it very lightly over lines. It barely settled in my marionette lines- I am very pleased with this!
I absolutely love this foundation. I’ve got dry skin and it works if you apply thin layers as you build it up. I haven’t used my IT cosmetics CC cream since. I picked up light cool and light neutral and they both work. It’s a bargain at £8!
I am pretty much a regular user of the CC cream which is a bit pricey I am very much looking forward to trying this Foundation I'm hoping that it works as well as the CC cream for me thanks for sharing your opinion
Thank you for your review. You make my day when I watch your videos. You always can make me smile because you have days like all of us. Happy Belated Birthday to your beautiful Mom 🎉
I just purchased this yesterday but haven't tried it yet. After seeing your video now I think I picked the wrong shade. We'll give it a go anyway and see how it does. Whatever you're wearing on your face today is absolutely lovely. It's subtle but fresh and youthful
I love your try videos. The wear test in this is great. Thanks for showing it in so many lightings, settings and closeness. Plus testing the 3 shades on your chin was helpful. I think I might be a #11 or #13. Im 49 parimenopausale and my skin has completely changed texture. For 25+ yrs Ive only used only powder foundations, without primers even. Now I need to explore liquid to options and primers. This is a good price to test my new texture out on.
Was finally able to get my order in by working on my laptop. I purchased all the same as you did. Glad to be trying it. Thanks so much for your reviews!
I have been alternating this one and the TirTir cushion foundation for the last 2 weeks. I find them both beautiful and better that anything I have bought in the last 6 months. I don't usually choose drug store brands, however this one is great. I bought 3 different shades (which at $8.00 each was still cheaper than my usual foundations) I find that they all actually work on their own or can be mixed for custom match. Its just a great foundation.
I bought the light cool #20 that has a pinky undertone. I am ALWAYS surprised at how many people buy the wrong undertones, most opt for the most part to warm. THIS is a beautiful foundation. Most times when I do my nose, the foundation sets on top showing pitting with color lying on top. With this foundation that doesn’t happen. It does not lie in my lines and I’m in my 60’s. Beautifully wonderful foundation and i have tried high end that didnt apply as beautiful as this.
I’m Soo excited to Try this Foundation.. in two colours, 25 and 31 I recently tried the Camo hydrating cc full cover in Light 210… I absolutely loved it..! 🎉 Tnx. For review.. 🎉
Thanks for this review and for help with the shades. Your brows look amazing here. Please can you let us know what products you used on your brows. Have you also had your brows tinted or had them laminated? The shape is fabulous ❤
Standing at the makeup counter... frantically scrolling through your channel, trying to find which is your top 2 blurring powders and also the creaseproof undereye concealer. Couldn't find them 😔 Left empty-handed because i felt too unconfident in choosing for myself. Pleaseeeee remind me! (Or I'll hold out for an updated high-end and affordable favourites video)
I found the lancome all over concealer thanks to Gemma and its my ride or die. She also likes the huda beauty faux filter. Blurring powder - she's a big fan of Pat Mcgrath and I want to pick up NARS because of Gemma.
Tried the old one and it wasn't good for mature skin. The new one is much better, but I ordered number 13 and it's too light.I have #25 on order.Let's see. Also, the Elf blush stick is really good.Easy to blend and long lasting.
I'm not sure if you are aware that elf has a shade match guarantee and will refund online purchases if, within 30 days, you aren't happy with the match of the foundation shade you ordered. I believe that is in place for the UK where we can't normally return makeup unless it's faulty.
@PamperedWolf you need to scroll down all the information to find it on the individual product listing. It's for foundation, concealer and the halo glow. It applies to powder foundation but not face powders.
I have tried the fair neutral and the light neutral. Neither match my skin tone. One is too light and one too dark. I plan to mix the two and see if that works. I do like the foundation. I am in my early 60s with normal skin type. Thanks for all of your reviews!!
I think for £8 its pretty damn good. I’m 67, don’t have too many lines, and it’s a solid everyday foundation, with good lasting properties. Ive used it all week now in shade 21, yes it’s a bit too yellow for neutral so may try 25. It didn’t look too great over the liquid putty primer and was a bit pilly. But I’ve used it over Tula blurring skin base and now wet n wild 5 in 1 essence primer ( that’s so good) and its looks the best with that combo. Didn’t think it was patchy, cracky/caky or porey. Less is more i think. Have you tried the ELF power grip setting mist? Good CT dupe i think. Thanks for in depth review as always Gemma ❤❤❤❤
I'm not a fan of Drugstore complexion makeup. Shades don't match, typically get a breakout, and they emphasize lines , texture and pores on my finicky mature skin. Ty Gemma..looks good on you!🎉🎉🎉
This is probably a stupid question, but what do you do with all the shades that are not a match? I think this is one of the reasons I am hesitant to try out different foundations and tinted moisturizers. I never know if I can return the ones that don’t match or do we just throw them away? 🤷🏻♀️
I bought the lightest cool shade. That was a huge mistake. I've reordered it in the next two cool shades up from that one. I like the way it wears and I have never had success with Elf's foundations/cc creams.
Hi Gemma Learning a lot from your videos so thank you for that. Apart from trying a few different shades of foundation on the cheek / neckline is there any info on the product that tells you that if it’s for neutral, cool, warm undertones. If there is I can never seem to find it. Alternatively are there any websites that would tell you the undertones of foundations or is it just a matter of asking the assistant on the counter? I’ve done this a few times before and not many of them seem to give much info on this.
Hello Gemma, thanks, as soon they come out here in canada I will try it, I guess that for me it would be a 25 since I am a bit darker then you but it looks really pretty on you, Happy belated Birthday to your lovely mom, I bet you had a great time...feel better soon and more relaxed, stress is so bad for us right?...thanks.
4 days for an Elf order?! Im in Canada and wait 3 weeks! Im dying to try this. I’ve got combo-on the oily side skin and work 12 hour shifts so I’m always looking for the unicorn complexion products.
Apart from Revlon , there are no affordable foundations I like. They all sit on your skin like a mask. I think foundation is definitely worth investing in if you wear makeup most days.
I bought two shades of the soft glam and mix them and I come up with my perfect color which is light but olive at the same time 😅. This product does not look cakey or sits on lines and looks like your skin but improved..very nice. I have used the elf camo but they changed the formula and feels like you are putting glue in your face and is now very very cakey and horrible.

I have very dry mature skin. I tried it and actually love it. 🥰

Wow the foundation looked great on you! I ordered it and am excited to try it.
I'm so happy you reviewed this foundation. I wanted to try it but I have dry, sensitive skin with texture. It's about $9.97 in Niagara Falls, Canada
Just seen it on Amazon for $40 I thought I was seeing things last week it was $8 I’m sure it’s the same
Found you browsing light foundations and love your style,so I subscribed.Thank you for your honest opinion .👍🤩

This is very encouraging. I just may have to try it.

So glad you like it. It’s ordered . I’m just wondering if blush will stay put. One way to find out and you didn’t mention a problem with that.
Looks beautiful and you sure can’t beat the price. I think I’ll give it a try. Thanks!

How does the Elf compare to other skin tints you like? LE? Sweed? Danessa?
This isn’t a skin tint, it’s a full foundation. So it’s totally different x
I recently got this foundation and I love it

Hi from Caledonia Ontario. As of now this product is not yet available here.
This settled into every pore and grabbed on to every bit of dry skin. The search continues.
Was watching th Kings parade on YT and thought I saw your mum in the crowd.
Try mixing both colors
Any ELF undereye concealers that are creaseproof please?
Unfortunately, none that I have found 😢 None of them work for my 63 year old dark circle and fine line eyes 👀
Packaging reminds me of BECCA. I wonder if it is a dupe?
