Loving, loyal and unafraid, the daughter of a wanted robber chief makes a secret friend in her father's magical and treacherous forest. - Развлечения
For non-Nordic viewers: Ronja the Robber’s Daughter is a classic Swedish children’s fantasy novel about the daughter of the leader of a band of robbers. She becomes friends with the son of her father’s biggest rival and they rebel against their parents’ feud. The story has also been adapted as an anime series by Goro Miyazaki
I first watched that anime years ago! I thought they just made it up!
Ghibli?
I gotta look it up
Thanks for the explanation of what it is.
It's CGI anime the only thing that isn't great on Anime... At least no yet... Got the same issue as Berserker like Miyazaki Senior makes me leave...
I live in Poland and Astrid Lindgren is really popular here. She was one of my favorite childhood writers. I remember going to the library and lending Ronja on a regular basis 😁 I can't wait to see the the movie. Hopefully, it'll be as good as the book
The original Film is a masterpiece. The book by Lindgren is a Classic.
Yes loved
As a kid, I absolutely loved this book. It's been years, but this trailer def got me excited
Same
I'm happy to see this story get the high production value it deserves. Looking forward to this!
We need more classics return! Astrid Lindgren definitely deserves it and I really hope it isn't messed up or spoiled; there had been too many changed classic versions and in this case, they should simply rather change the title or call it "inspired by". I really hope the best for this great novel.
how do you write "we need more classics return" and "hope it isnt messed up" next to one another in regards to a Netflix adaptation? We do not. And it will be.
Ronja Rövardotter!! Söstra mi’ ❤️❤️❤️
Even here in Germany RONJA RÄUBERTOCHTER, both book and first film (which was also turned into a tv miniseries), are absolute classics! Let me say this, my family and I are very cautiously excited about this new version. 🤞🏻
not to be that person, but although this looks nice and has already a beautiful scenery and score, nothing will ever beat the original movie.
This is unreal! Ronja rövardotter. Perfect timing for "Vårskrik"
The original movie scared the beejesus out of me as a kid 😊
What is the original movie name please tell me
@@filmyassassinRonja rövardotter
@@filmyassassinSame title as this one. Released in 1984
That was literally one of my favourite movies lol
Original movie? You meant book?
Or was there an adaption of the book before this one?
OMG Ronja Rövardotter! I both loved and feared this as a child. I was in awe - and had nightmares for years...
Great classic old Swedish movie (and novel), about a chieftain's daughter in medieval Sweden.
But from the top of my head, I think "Ronja Bandit Daughter" would be a better translated title, no?
the English title of the book has always been Ronia, the Robber's Daughter
@@feelyourlinesI did not know that, that makes perfect sense then. Thanks!
The Brothers Lionheart next please!
The scenery is insane.😮😮😮 Love from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 ❤️ 💖
That looks so good 🤯 Swedish movies aren’t usually that well adapted in America but this one actually looks true to the original 🤯
This one was actually originally made by the Swedish-based streaming service Viaplay, but they had serious financial problems and sold it to Netflix
This is made in Sweden, not an American version. It’s produced and released by Netflix similar ways like example Young Royals.
It will be split in two parts, 6 episodes each. The last half will be released later this year.
they are talking swedish in the movie
Sadly it's not true to the original Swedish classic. This is woke propaganda turned into a movie.
One of my favourite childhood books ❤ and seems like the vibes and looks will be so close and resemble the original book.
The original film us scandies grew up with is on RUclips with English subtitles 😊
Classic Nordic story that basically every Scandinavian person know. Such a good story, i hope this show or movie can do it justice.
They only did this to blackwash it. Disgusting.
They want to erase everything white europén Scandinavian !!!!
Its crammed in multiculturalism and before you bring up colonializm or the slavery, this is a Swedish show, so keep your american white guilt out of it
In Germany too! I'm in my mid thirties and I grew up with a couple of Ronja's and obviously they all got called "the robber's daughter".
The original film was the first movie I ever saw at the movie theaters. My big sister took me to see it. Excellent movie with great Swedish actors.
Swedish?😂 Yeah right!!! They had to destroy the Damn movie
@@arothoff ?
only Hanna Zetterberg is the real ronja (best casting in the 80s)
She was FANTASTIC
From a viewers perspective: No need to have anything other then the original film.
Ronja Ryövärintytär ❤ can't wait for this to come out!!
They could have made the Vildvittror much more terrifying. They are supposed to be harpies, ie half woman, half bird.
They're not Harpys or Sirens, might be similar but they're not the same. There closer to the ghost like creature called Nattramn is Swedish folklore. Personally, these are my favorite version of vildvittrorna. I love the idea of them having the head and wings of a bird and the body of a women, instead of looking like Harpys and Sirens.
I remember the movie from the 80's and also the making off. It was pretty scary back then. I bet this new version doesn't have the butt-naked robbers running and rolling in the snow, lol. I see this new version has a curled haired Ronja, just like the original book illustrations. It's a magical story with great creatures and wonderful forests. BTW: I wonder when the other Astrid Lindgren project will finally arrive: the Brothers Lionheart. It was announced long ago, but probably still in development hell (too expensive?) Another tip: watch Mio my Mio with a very young Christian Bale (one of his first roles) That movie also has a magical, European fantasy world. I think we're going to see more content like this, since Netflix is now obliged to put much more money back into European productions.
Since it’s a Swedish production it may very well have the naked robbers in it 😊
@@markusolofzon I guess we'll have to wait and see, ha ha.
Seems like they casted the lead perfectly for this one.
Omg one of my favourite childhood books! I had a doll that I named Ronja!
Astrid Lindgren truly went out with a bang! Ronja was the last book she ever wrote.
I adored this story!
I picked up an English translation of this book in 2002 when I visited Sweden. I lost the book at some point in the last 20+ years and could never remember the name. I'm speechless stumbling across this
The music should be more nordic to be honest
Yes, this is what bothered me the most, the music is of good quality, but the music direction is awful, it’s full of irish and celtic music and some generic epic music mixed in between. Nothing to tie the movie into sweden or even scandinavia
Awesome Ronja the Robber’s Daughter First Look Video.
Remember watching the original movie as a kid, hehe. Yes I'm swedish. Also liked the Mio min Mio movie aswell
Let's face it, this teaser shows very few of the production quality. The version from 1984 had a great cast and felt epic to my younger me / as I remember.
I think, its very hard to recreate that story properly. At least Millie Bobby Brown wasn't typecasted for this. So, I give it a shot, but with low expectations. =)
Well, I certainly wasn’t expecting this!
I‘m a huge fan of the original movie so kind of skeptical about this one, but open to being pleasantly surprised.
The original gave me nightmares as a kid, hoping this one does too lol :)
I love this Story, my Childhood. Hanna Zetterberg was great
oh so many childhood memories
If you already have the rights, bring the series in 3D too 😢
OMG!! SHE'S FINALLY GETTING A MOVIE!!
This is actually a series, and there is already a movie. ;) But yes, I'm excited too. Growing up with the "original movie", this will very likely be a great show to introduce to my kid.
1984 was the first Movie, with Hanna Zetterberg as Ronja
There is already a movie and it had the best music ever.
There already is a live action movie from 1984 and it's much better than this or the anime!
Goodness, I read this in the 90s.
Whoa… I didn’t expect this classic to get an adaptation again.
ohhh I remember hearing this will be adaptet, can't wait, loved the story as a kid
Just found out Krista Kosonen is in this, I miss Alfhildr so much, hope Beforeigners gets a season 3 someday soon!
That was my favorite book growing up!
Damn, it really gives me nostalgia for the book and the anime series that i watched when i was younger. Seems like a good production.
I'm looking forward to this!
"Nu ska blodet flyyyta"
okay netflix, you dropped the ball with the witcher, can you make me come back ?
Yes they even brought a black house Slave!
I really hope they dont mess up the story too much
I got named after Ronja, I love the story so much😍
I hope we we see alot of rumpnissar.
In spite of what it says above it is not on Netflix in the US and when I contacted Netflix about this they literally had no information.
0:37 That sounds like the Nazgûl from Lord of the RIngs
Those are birds called Vildvittror, extremely scary birds
I read this book before! It was truly good and I hope this wont be ruined by this
I used to be obsessed with the anime of this on prime video
Thought that it was Birk in the clip, not Ronja..
Birk is blonde. Ronja here looks exactly like the original drawings in the book.
@@pegapage9603 i mean compared to the old show. Not the books
What’s wrong with the original?
Nothing
Kan ni lägga upp säsong 2 av Luz?
I lovw how this is is an netflix show but still in swedish❤
im still waiting for his three Daughters trailer with elizabeth olsen
I love the story. I think I've seen every version of it including a stage play.. I actually dated the Ronja Actress for a while haha... But still.. the Harpy's still send a shiver down my spine.. why are they a thing?
I cannot wait! I watched the anime and loved the story! ❤
I've seen the anime of this but the show looks really good as well
this looks good
I saw the animation for this story on Prime.
Netflix: "We stepped on a "higher ground", but try to do what good we can".
I grew up with the original series. I hope they don't mess it up.
The original was a book and a film, not a series
The anime is so good!
And not blackwashed
North-Germany here, where is that series!?
Woffo gör di på detta viset?!
My Swedish Godfather gave me these books when I was young and I Love them! ❤❤❤
i hope Netflix do it good. I love the original.
I loved the anime series by Ghibi, I’m so excited to see this one day! 😭💖
Why I can’t find it on Netflix?
Wondering the same thing. I guess it’s only available to non North American Netflix accounts, maybe just European Netflix?!
Movie from the 80 s and the Ghibli Anime are fantastic work. But Netflix? We will see.
Different trailer but okay, lets see where this is going
already looks better than avatar
I READ THIS BOOK IN SCHOOL!!!
Oooohhhh, nice! :D
Can't wait to see her african sidekick in the old norse forests.
I think that black bird is Odin
Its a vildvittra 😁
Its a vildvittra its not one of Odins crows
Odin isn't mentioned in the book
Didn't Ghibli do an anime series of this a while ago?

Yes 🙂
We can all hope for the best but Sweden has a horrendous record when it comes to creating remakes from swedish classics.
Wasn't there an anime?
The anime was based on the old Swedish movie and novel. This is based on the same Swedish source material.
Netflix please dont f*ck this up, please dont f*ck this up 🤞🤞. Keep it grounded and honest like the original and dont make it go GOT!
I loved this one as an kid, this some fake stuff.. wont even look at it
Watch 'Ronja the Robber's Daughter' from 1984 instead, it's a thousand times better!
If Dora have eyes
JAG VILL BARA KRÄKAS I NÅGONS HALS...
Is this also based from the Ghibli series?
No its not Ronja Robbers daughter is swedish not japanese its not based off the anime its the other way around.its a swedish child story
I grew up with the old movie
WHAAAAT??? omg!
Wait, this is Netflix. Why is (s)he not at Black Transgender? Jokes aside. Nice to see Ronja come back on the Screen for new audiences. I still remember watching the original as a child inspiring me to explore the local woods.
There are forced diversity in it though
Passem no brasil
Aren't they made in anime?
It looks too clean. Ronja looks like, fresh from the Bathroom. No Thanks.
She took a bath once a week, remeber? Birk was the grubby one.
wasn,t that an anime ?
Nah blud
It's a book from Astrid Lindgren.
HEJA RONJA RÖVARDOTTER
