Man sorry to hear about that I tore my rotary cuff last summer still hasn't healed up yet maybe just a little bit better but it takes sometimes a year to a little bit longer on rotary cuffs Hope your fingers not that long!
Oh man, sorry to hear about your shoulder. I tore one of my rotator cuff muscles on my left shoulder about 4 years ago. Not a complete tear, just partial. It healed but took 2 to 3 years and I still deal with it today. The shoulder doesn't quite sit right and I have to stretch and warm it up all the time. Still gets sore from time to time even though it's healed. Hope yours heals up better.
Yeah, it's amazing how well it works, just have to work around the swelling but when I put it on, it instantly fixes the problem. Not permanent but it works in the short term while healing.
I've had a similar injury to my right hand ring finger. My finger would pop and sometimes get stuck in one position. It's called trigger finger. I actually purchased a small splint meant for trigger finger. It helps support the finger. I can even wear it gardening. There are 2 types of Trigger finger. The type I have can heal with rest. Check out the splint, might work for you also.
Thanks. This is a little different. Trigger finger is swelling of the tendon that causes it to get stuck as it moves through the finger structures like the pulleys. This is an actual tear of the pulley or rupture of it. I suppose it could lead to trigger finger over time.
The tendon can actually form a KINK from all the stress (being pulled and stretched). The pullies are actually TUBES, not rings. It’s like a sheath. The kink (in the tendon) usually forms OUTSIDE the pulley, typically at the base, and prevents the tendon from sliding through the pulley smoothly. It can also get inflamed. If the kink or inflammation is small, it’ll still pass through the pulley, but will feel weird and might even click as it passes in and out. Mine was like a knot and wouldn’t even fit into the pulley at all, so I couldn’t straighten my finger for months. At one point I was able to force it to go in by vigorously massaging the base while flexing my finger. Big mistake. The knot got stuck inside the sheath, which started to injure the pulley itself. So I bought a splint that completely immobilized my finger and it eventually healed. I’m not a mountain climber. I actually injured my finger (and both thumbs!) by GAMING. 😂 Lol, yes, that’s actually a thing! @@MikeKincaid79 I’ve had numerous injuries from gardening. Hands are common from overwork. If I injured a pulley, I wouldn’t know for sure because most of my injuries have healed in days to weeks without a doctor visit. But not having full control of a finger like you demonstrated is something that I’ve experienced. Made my job a bit difficult providing computer support at the time. When I say that I stop before I cause damage it’s due to the pain I’ve experienced trying to rip out goose grass. It’s in the St. Augustine family, annual grassy weed with a thick mat and grows without much competition. The best way to get rid of it is to pull up by the roots when the soil is moist. And DON’T compost it because the seeds may still germinate. Praying for your healing. 💪
Great explanation. Now, how about an easy way to get rid of lots of brush the easy way and you can save your bacon too! Pigs are great at clearing large areas of brush, they will eat the roots and all! If you get them young you can easily train them on a portable electric net fence. If you get the right breed in a year after they have done a great job (or earlier if you wish) you can have them butchered for you and enjoy the bacon you 'saved and grew from weeds and brush." I have watched others use their pigs like this and thought it was great. I had not considered raising pigs until I saw they can be very useful.
I appreciate the advice but no way am I using pigs in my rhododendron beds, lol. They'd uproot everything I have planted. Chickens might be a better solution for the more delicate task, haha. My Dad made his living for about a decade raising pigs and selling them. This was through my teenage years. He had over 100 pigs at one point and we had piglets everywhere. It was a lot of work and those pigs tear up everything. I remember being up at midnight on school nights just trying to get pigs back in after they broke out of their pens. I think I have PTSD from it, LOL.
Oh Lord, again???!!!! I really hope and pray that thingy works and you get healed! This sport is becoming dangerous! Don't pull like that any longer! Take care Mike! Hugs🤗💜🤗
Wow Mike, not again! I hope it heals for you without getting it looked at, be careful! Next time use your gardening tools lol! I have a long time Left Rotator Cuff Injury & also suffering from Bursitis in my left shoulder atm, just had a steroid 💉 which won't work for weeks, hurts like a b****... to top that off I'm totally Left handed! Can't win cos I have to use it.. I have such bad luck. 😔 Best of luck to you & hope your little gadget helps with the healing too. 🌱🏥💚
I had a surgery for a trigger finger and I feel the same way you felt on your ring finger. I had no strength on it. My therapist gave me a soft clay (putty) that I have to use to squeeze my finger/hand for 5 minutes 3x a day
Thank you so much for this, I have had major surgery on my right hand, it will never be the same, but I keep on keeping on. I have 2 trigger fingers on both hands I love to be outside and working in my yard . Hands are weird 😂
Hope it gets better! That sucks that you did that. I just had shoulder surgery, I dislocated my shoulder, tore my labrum on the front of my shoulder and rolled it off my socket on the back, and fractured my humorus. I did all that by tripping 🤣
All I keep hearing is The finger bone's connected to the hand bone, The hand bone's connected to the arm bone, The arm bone's connected to the shoulder bone, Now shake dem skeleton bones!
Funny how that works but a ring doesn't. In the big picture it could be worse, but as I always say, the sands of time don't flow UP the hourglass. You know what I'm trying to say so I'm not gonna say it!
I'll say it, LOL. I'm not 20 anymore, just can't seem to get that through my thick skull, haha. My wedding band is a little loose for it to work well. We just went ring shopping the other day and I found a nice wide silver ring that is sized much smaller. Waiting for it to get to the jeweler to pick it up. I think it will do this job much better because it's wide and supportive and tight. I'll let you know if it works. If so, it would be a more permanent solution.
Hahaha, that's a question, lol. Wasn't planning on it and sure wish I hadn't hurt myself. I'd like to go back and have a do-over if I could. I was just pulling out thorny vines and cleaning up the rhododendron beds and pushed myself a little too hard. It wasn't a problem until it was, lol. Now I know my limit.

ghee whizz mike, whatcha doin. well, you still have 8 to use. strange things do happen and I'm glad you found a good solution for this one. cie la vie. cp.
I know, wish I could go back in time and hand myself a shovel. Can't go back now so I'm dealing with it. It's pretty banged up and doesn't have much strength. I'm pretty sure I either tore or ruptured the A2 tendon pulley in that finger. I have an ultrasound scheduled in a couple weeks cause that's the soonest they could get me in. There's nothing the surgeon will do with it (thank God for that) but I requested the ultrasound anyway just for peace of mind, I want to know exactly what's wrong with it. If it is a ruptured pulley, it will never heal. Scar tissue will eventually form and I'll still be able to use the rest of my hand but that finger won't be as strong, which isn't the worst thing since the other fingers will compensate. I'm really not that accident prone, lol, this was just another fluke accident that I couldn't have predicted. It's the strangest dang thing. I seem to hurt body parts I didn't even know I had.
Oh my goodness, makes me sick just thinking about it. Mike you really have to take extra precautions, extra care man, you oly have 10 fingers and 2 benged up. Shish! I really hope is not the pulley ligament. 🙏🙏 God be with you and protect you! Keep me posted! Hugs🤗🤗🙏
I'm constantly working it. Wish it wasn't so bent but the tendon is shorter after the surgery and so it constantly wants to pull the finger in to a curl. I stretch it all the time and it helps for a few minutes but then it curls back in, lol.
Hi Mike, you may want to take some medicinal herbs. For instance Solomon seal helped my sciatica heal. Jim macdonald the US herbalist has an article on his website about how it can be useful for healing tendons. Good luck. Philxxx
Thanks, I've been icing and heating, as well as massaging it. Just trying to maintain the range of motion right now as it is swollen. Don't want scar tissue stopping those tendons from moving.

It’s in the St. Augustine family, annual grassy weed with a thick mat and grows without much competition. The best way to get rid of it is to pull up by the roots when the soil is moist. And DON’T compost it because the seeds may still germinate. Praying for your healing. 💪
Funky, in injured myself helping a lazy plumber pulling a tap. Lol. And im massage therapist..So learning more again...
We’re always learning.
Are you able to use this for your A3 or A4 pulley?
Yes. There are multiple sizes in the box. Are you a rock climber? Protect those pulleys!
@@MikeKincaid79 LOL, I thought you were clearing an area. I would not put them in a rhodie bed either.
Mike I think tendons and ligaments take at least a month or so to heal
Yep, usually several months. I'm in this one for the long haul
@@MikeKincaid79 Take care Mike. Wishing for your quick recovery
No more injuries, mister!
I sure hope not.
Oh Lord, again???!!!! I really hope and pray that thingy works and you get healed! This sport is becoming dangerous! Don't pull like that any longer! Take care Mike! Hugs🤗💜🤗
Don't worry, I wont! My Dad said, "Mike you're getting older, maybe I should buy you a shovel." LOL
It's about time! 🤗🤗
Mike why no ads in this video?😉☺️did you turn on the $ sign?😉
I let RUclips decide what to do with ads on this one. Apparently they don't think the video is worth is, lol. I'm OK with that.
I'm going to have to start calling you.Steve Austin we can rebuild you.
LOL
Bahahaha!!!
Wow Mike, not again! I hope it heals for you without getting it looked at, be careful! Next time use your gardening tools lol! We need our hands. 😉 Funny how some of us always suffer injury in the same spots we use all the time. 🌱🏥💚
Thanks Sharon, it's really making me slow down and think about what I'm doing, lol. Hopefully I don't keep repeating these lessons.
I had a surgery for a trigger finger and I feel the same way you felt on your ring finger. I had no strength on it. My therapist gave me a soft clay (putty) that I have to use to squeeze my finger/hand for 5 minutes 3x a day
Isn't that funny. You pay them thousands and they give you putty and tell you to kick sand, LOL.
@@MikeKincaid79 yes that's right..LOL
Thank you so much for this, I have had major surgery on my right hand, it will never be the same, but I keep on keeping on. I have 2 trigger fingers on both hands I love to be outside and working in my yard . Hands are weird 😂
They sure are, and not easy to fix, lol. Would you like an update on how things are going?
Lol Note to self, put a clothespin in garden first-aid bag. 😁
Haha, now that's a great idea!
Hi man i did the same surgery.... now i'm in the 12th week , its really hard on the psychological side
Yes, unfortunately it’s very tough psychologically. Once you beat that, everything gets better.
Wow, you can't catch a break with your tendons!
No kidding. That was my thought exactly after feeling that pulley snap. All healed up now.
Hope it gets better! That sucks that you did that.
I just had shoulder surgery, I dislocated my shoulder, tore my labrum on the front of my shoulder and rolled it off my socket on the back, and fractured my humorus. I did all that by tripping 🤣
Man, I'm sorry to hear that. Way worse than what I did. It sucks when we get hurt bad just from little mistakes.
All I keep hearing is
The finger bone's connected to the hand bone,
The hand bone's connected to the arm bone,
The arm bone's connected to the shoulder bone,
Now shake dem skeleton bones!
LOL, Your tank is looking good. Glad the tank is settling down. All the inhabitants look happy.

Thanks Mike.
Looks like the rings on my plastic kicker sprinkler that send it back the other direction 😗
Haha, yeah sort of does.
damn, good luck i hope you get better. this reminds me of #ITSJUSTAPINKIE
Yeah, me too. All too familiar
Had it five times in the last 10 years🙈🤣 climbing issue.
5 times!? You got any fingers left? 😂
Well, I hate to repeat your example myself. There are gardening tools to do the job, why did you use your hand and hurt yourself?
Hahaha, that's a question, lol. Wasn't planning on it and sure wish I hadn't hurt myself. I'd like to go back and have a do-over if I could. I was just pulling out thorny vines and cleaning up the rhododendron beds and pushed myself a little too hard. It wasn't a problem until it was, lol. Now I know my limit.
MIKE, didnt ya know that is what SHOVELs for? if the shovel wont work try a power puller come-a-long, take care of your self your not a youngster any more
I keep forgetting that. Kind of in the in between age of denial, haha
@@MikeKincaid79 yup me to so dont feel bad , i keep forgetting that i`m not 30 anymore and not able to work and play like i used to now when i get hurt it really hurts
it's amazing !!! I hope your finger heals quickly .... Mike, Mike, I'm in panic mode. 3 days ago according to your instructions 4 olive brunches and 4 oleanders are in cups with soil, I watered everything and ... panic, I don't know if I have to cover each cup with nylon? I've put everything on the room temperature window. it's panic. What shoul I do?????Joy is my Orchid blue princess, she has released a branch with buds and I wonder what color the flowers will be because it is a hybrid, probably white. This is great news in the indoor jungle, some plants will be jealous 😂😂😂
Stop panicking and be patient, lol. Give them time to root. Are you in the northern or southern hemisphere?
@@MikeKincaid79 I think is a southern but my window is on west and there everything growing like a crazy

Google translate. This is my region where I live and my city is Pula south part of my region. Is too much information ? 😬
ghee whizz mike, whatcha doin. well, you still have 8 to use. strange things do happen and I'm glad you found a good solution for this one. cie la vie. cp.
That's what I figured, 8 more left.
How is your finger, Mike? For goodness sake, use the right tools!
God be with you and protect you!
Keep me posted! Hugs🤗🤗🙏
B E T A !!
LOL, guess I'll have to learn the beta for pulling blackberry vines.
Are you continuing to do physical therapy with your right pinky? It looks more bent as time goes on. ☹️
I'm constantly working it. Wish it wasn't so bent but the tendon is shorter after the surgery and so it constantly wants to pull the finger in to a curl. I stretch it all the time and it helps for a few minutes but then it curls back in, lol.
You are to sweet for all this bad stuff to be happening to you, stop and pet the rooster, 🤔🤣😀😀😊
I think my problem is that I work with my hands like I'm 20 and forget that I'm 42, lol
Oh Mike! ... Sorry is to late but gotta tell you after you break more.. . try this.. Buy Wild Yam Root Powder ( dioscorea opposita) and do it in capsules. Take 3 to 4 capsules before sleeping. Your body will restore and make so strong your muscles and tendons. For a while try Zinc too in the mornings. Goodnite friend 🌿
Thanks, Barbara. I appreciate the advice. I've got zinc and will take some this morning.
Mikey, Mikey, sigh. Well, ever'buddy gotta have a hobby. Apparently, this is yours. STOP IT. I used to rock climb but did it a la Tarahumara, who think a half-mile high cliff is where you train babies still in diapers. Yeah, my kid was trained like that by his mom and granny. But, we tend to have short fingers so it's not a problem! Nor is vertigo because they all fell of--i mean to say, they left for a lower elevation. Well, I'm far older than you 17 years, and thanks to too many ties in the hospital (umbilical hernia, not, well, you know :) I can't climb anymore. Take care, or I'll call up army on ya! Heal! It's not a suggestion. Not from an old cholo.
Haha, thanks for the "suggestion". I'm taking it easy, just need to realize I'm 42 and not 20. Going to invest in a new shovel after this one. Just hope it heals up enough to get most of my grip back. Life goes on...........
@@MikeKincaid79 Yeah, yeah, just remember that Oh, God wisdom. 17 and holding. Kids t'day, shish! BTW, we've been getting a little rain now and then. Hope the monsoons are a blast! Take care of that tendon. My stepfather managed to cut the side of his hand with a chainsaw but they looped out back in place. His little finger stayed crooked, but they saved it. Be blessed. And a Happy Thanksgiving to come :)
