Oh hey Shinesparkers! I know that site! ;) Richard actually elaborated on when Samus fought Weavel in his chat with Kiwi Talkz. If Metroid 1 was remade again, he said Weavel would be a more important character, so it's either a random Zebesian in Zero Mission or they fought offscreen.
When I first saw this guy as a trophy in Brawl I remeber getting Halo vibes from his design. If only Metroid had an Expanded Universe with books, comics, etc. like Star Wars Legends.
Although I agree Metroid definitely needs more love from Nintendo and extended lore would be great, what scares me is that the series is so good as is. The more you add to it the more you risk tainting it. Like Star Wars, the mandolorian season 1 and 2 were great but then they got a bit too money hungry and pumped out absolute sludge of shows like obi wan, book of boba, Mando season 3, etc. I’d take Metroid being great but peacemeal rather than bad and oversaturated
It _technically_ does, but it's so underdeveloped that the cannonicity of it is constantly questioned... if people even remember/I we about it, anyways. Most people dont even consider the possibility of Sylux being Solomon, her long lost brother from the manga
I like the idea of Weavel being a Keyhunter given a humanoid body, Weavel's head even looks like a Keyhunters head without the eyes as well. And I agree Weavel is cooler than Sylux.
I'm fascinated about how much detail and theory you can find about a character, which I always thought is just existing because he has to be differentiable for multiplayer 😅 Thanks for the mention ❤
I read an awesome fanfic once where weavel tries to stir up a revolution against Ridley and mother brain shortly before the events of super Metroid. Long story short in the fanfic he was that mysterious dead body outside kraids room in super Metroid
If those rumors about people being interested in making a Metroid movie turn out to be true Weavel should be a character that plays a similar role to the Blue Koopa paratroopa in the Super Mario movie.
Metroid Prime Hunters Remake would be cool. The online multiplayer mode would be way better. Also many new multiplayer game modes would should be added.
I needed that haha, thanks! The Prime Hunters community is so niche compared to the others, but to me it's my favorite game since I played it the most in my childhood.
I'm glad you made this. I love this kind of stuff. Weavel is an interesting character, and, frankly, I like the keyhunter theory. It makes sense with his name and morphology. Somehow, that has to fit in the timeline. It's just too cool. They need to make another spin-off taking place on Zebes and make him a boss and maybe explain Krade a bit more. OR instead, make Weavle the main character you play as.

I've read a few fan theories and stories about how weavel possible lead a rebellion against mother brain, but sadly I think it's been confirmed that it was a galactic federation solder
Fun fact that eye door is called Gadora The Gadora is the "Eye Door", found in front of boss areas. There is one each directly in front of the rooms of Kraid, Phantoon, Draygon, and Ridley. There is also one two rooms before Mother Brain. They can be defeated by shooting either one Super Missile or three Missiles into its open eye
I always felt Weavel was based on the remains of a flying pirate from prime 1. Not only would the technology to cybernetically enhance him exist during this period as we see with Meta Ridley, but Weavel's signature weapon the battle hammer, shares a similar green glow to the energy associated with the flying pirates. Plus when you consider that upon defeat, they try to kamikaze into Samas for a final attempt to stop her, it not only shows a dedication that would inspire the higher ups not to let their soldier perish, but it also makes it easy to understand how he got those injuries in the first place.
I think metroid is inspired by R-Type, whihc is inspired by Alien and Sapce Adventure Cobra. So I believe there's a lot of high-evolutionary type shenanigans and the Space Pirates are self-selecting eugenicists, with a focus on forwarding their races collectively as hives. In this context, it would make sense that Weavel is the basis of Kihunters, the REASON they exist. But a much stronger indicator is the style of Prime writers, does the series veer more towards inserting their fanfiction into the existing lore, following up the lore which often goes way off the rails because new authors only understand their own interpretation of the original work, OR do they pay a lot of attention to write through rationalizations of the existing lore, which is the rarest type of adaptation and the one I like the most. THAT is the kind of writing where you would pick a common enemy like Kihunter, and strictly build lore around it in the confines of what is possible without contradicting much of the original work. The purpose of this is not so much to not treat the original work as holy like a sacred tree, but more like a Bonsai tree, taking up a new form from the saplings of the old. It's also a good thing to do because it's very aware of tone, and if you do it right it will not START to contradict the orignal author when new material is released.
I find it interesting that his legs are more human-like rather than the ones the Prime pirates have. The Zebesians have more human shaped legs so maybe that’s a hint to who he is.

I wasnt aware of him elaborating on it, thats awesome! Now i need a zero mission remake lmao

Metroid has so much potential for an expanded universe like Starwars, it's not fair😭

I heard about that too! Tbh I'm probably gonna make a video covering that body in brinstar

With how cool that blue Koopa was in the movie, I wouldn't mind that tbh
Metroid Prime Hunters Remake would be cool. The online multiplayer mode would be way better. Also many new multiplayer game modes would should be added.
And maybe add in a few extra new characters too 🤞
@@MetroidTrainer imagine if they added Runda, Ghor and Gandraya as playable hunters
I needed that haha, thanks! The Prime Hunters community is so niche compared to the others, but to me it's my favorite game since I played it the most in my childhood.
I feel the same way! Hunters was such a blast to play with the multi-player back in the DS era
I can see it now....
Weavel: You took everything from me.
Samus: I don't even know who you ar-.... Hey I should be the one saying that to Ridley!!!
I always found Weavel to be an interesting character, was probably my favourite of the other hunters.
Same! Tho the only hunter more interesting than Weavel to me is Trace
I thought it was just Sneasel's evolution 🤔
I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THAT💀💀

Yoooo a weavel spin-off would so cool!

I think those flying pirates are actually Kihunters themselves.

I gotta look into flying pirates lore 👀
I know he's a cyborg, but it seems obvious he was a human. probably not encountered previously in a game
I find it interesting that his legs are more human-like rather than the ones the Prime pirates have.

Getting pretty close!
