This is a super easy shawl that any beginner can knit! It only has one row: *yo, k to end.
This technique produces a simple bottom-up triangular shawl that has a pretty, loopy edge. It can be knit with any weight yarn but you'll need at least 200yds. As a rough estimate, 250-300gr of DK-weight yarn will give you a shawl that has a wingspan that matches an adults'.
If you don't have enough yarn, why not experiment with what you have. You can make a nice kerchief or dishcloth! :)
You can cast off your shawl whenever you feel it's large enough. To check, slide your stitches onto a long circular needle, or onto a piece of string. If you're happy with the result, bind off using a needle 2-3 sizes larger than the one you used to knit with. Here's a tutorial on binding off knitting: • How to Cast Off Knitting
The pattern is now listed on Ravelry, so you can add your finished projects! www.ravelry.com...

Thank you❣️ I’m teaching myself to knit and this is such an easy pattern to follow. It’s encouraging when you’re a beginner and the item you’re making actually comes to life! YAY! Also, I love the color of yarn that you’re using and the background. That’s really why I was drawn to it and your voice is very calming. Your instructions are perfect. 💗

I made a shaw using this pattern, it was easy and turned out even better than I expected! I used a textured wool. The edging makes the look and I'm keeping it just the way it is. Used size 10 gage needles to give it a lighter look and feel. Thanks for the video!

I so loved this pattern it was the easiest and only shawl I could seem to master being the clutz that I am. Thank you. I edged with some lace I found at thrift store vintage lace and it is quite beautiful and got worn to my daughter's university commencement ceremony! I worked it in shades of cream. At the risk of sounding greedy please make more video!

Hi Salma, it depends what weight yarn you're using. A lace-weight yarn will probably all fit on straight needles, but anything thicker and you will probably need circular needles. You might also be able to purchase extra-long straight needles, but you'll be much more comfortable using circulars. Good luck with your shawl! :)

Esmeralda Santos to g MCEA Update After a 2 month lull in the activities of the Expert Committee of MCEA, there was a sudden rush of events following the 11th April 2014 - 5th meeting of the Committee. In a way it was a turning point. The hanging sword of control of rate list of medical establishments was vehemently opposed by me. The grievance of exorbitant billing by the NGOs was misdirected towards the nursing homes who cater to more than 70% of the private medical care today. Hence there was no point in punishing the private nursing homes for the exorbitant billing of the bigger hospitals. On behalf of AMC, I submitted the following opinion of Adv Rui Rodrigues about the irrationality of standardization of charges in the CEA; “In any event, it is noteworthy to mention at this stage that any unreasonable restrictions sought to be imposed, will have to meet the nexus test of Art.14 of the Constitution of India and also Art.19(1)(g) of the Constitution of India and, therefore, the proposed Act in the draft Bill form presently, leaves no scope to introduce such an extraneous control for interfering with the administrative-cum-official autonomy of the private clinical establishments, which as long as they follow the conditions laid down in the said proposed Act.” Further, opinion of an Ex-Member of Competition Commission of India was also submitted emphasizing that, “The Act should create a competitive environment in order to encourage the clinical establishment makes more facilities available. The Act in all its earnestness should allow the market to determine the rate of charges based on the facility available. Creating a standardised rate card is a reminder of the socialist regime and has failed miserably all over the world and is no longer applied.” The Health Ministry declared, that they would be inviting public opinion to the revised draft worked upon by the Expert Committee, at eight cities on 3rd May 2014. Each of the committee member was assigned a centre. Accordingly I visited the Nasik centre. AMC has taken the lead in creating awareness of the existing stage of MCEA drafting. Dr Pattiwar spoke to a doctors gathering in Chandrapur, Dr Bahekar spoke to the Thane-Dombivali branch medicos and I shared the update to doctors of Amravati & Nasik. This helped in creating a stir amongst the medicos and they were armed with the right objections to be presented in their respective centres. In Mumbai, Thane was the only centre and Mira- Bhayender medicos (150) represented AMC, lead by Dr Niranjan Agarwal along with the local IMA branch Office bearers.

find a circular needle with a cable long enough to hold your shawl bunched up on it (however wide it is now, multiply by enough to be the final width). then, move over to the circulars: just use the circular needle on the next row, instead of your straight needle, and then use the circular from then on. Even if the shawl is distorted, you may be able to 'fix' it when blocking when you finish knitting! good luck!!

the movement at about 55 seconds is tying a slip knot. when you pull one end of the knot (and it's not around a needle) the knot just slips right out and you have a straight string again.
