Judy is so poised and well spoken, I feel like I know her personally. She is also strikingly beautiful and always captures my full attention. Michael is always wonderful and I have always loved her as an actress since the Waltons
You can say that again. Judy has been a wonderful person who really does feel like a friend, amazing considering the only place iv ever seen her is on film or videos.
For those of us who desire family, but was not the chance in their lives to have one, the Waltons kind of took the place of the need and desire, watching your family, brought a sense of calmness and escapism, otherwise to a very ordinary life. Thank you for the great adventure!
Longtime fan of watching the waltons show since I was a young girl in the 70s loved the relationship of the family cast members they really portrayed the waltons so accurately !Michael leatned's portrayal of Olivia reminded me of my late maternal grandmother from Texas she was the matriarch of 9 children during the Great Depression my late mom was daughter #5 & child # 7❤
All I can say is the more I get to see Michael Learned as herself, the more I like her. What a wonderful interview. Thank you for sharing more of Ms. Learned with us. She is both a gift and a treat.
Judy did a great job conveying what we all felt about Mama's character. She underrates the value she brought to the show although I understand the feeling of boredom. How powerful to so much with less. We are still in love with Michael Learned after all these years! Thank you Judy!
I founded a children’s bereavement center in York, PA called, Olivia’s House. It was named after Olivia Walton because she epitomized comfort during painful times. When children lose a loved one, our mission provides comfort at no cost. I watched your show my entire childhood with my grandma, and I related to MaryEllen the most. This was such a nice show. Thank you so much for all you both have given to our world! Twenty years after we began our mission, it seems the world needs the Waltons more now than ever. We now have grown to two centers within our community to care for children after a loss. Keep on doing what you are doing, and we, at Olivia’s House, will continue as well!❤
Judy, I cannot say enough how much I enjoy hearing Michael talk about her life. There is such integrity and warmth and honesty in her. What a treat to have had the privilege of working with such a person.
Loved the interviews with Michael Learned. It's true, her presence alone was so endearing and comforting when viewing the show. I sure missed her when she left. The Waltons were like an extension of my family.
@@judynorton2598 I enjoy your videos and appreciate rekindling good memories from my childhood. It’s a real pleasure knowing I’m communicating with you and Mary Ellen😊.
Hi Judy! It was so great to see Michael again. I see once again Olivia and Mary Ellen together again! You both share an extra strong bond, and always will.
What an insightful interview with Miss Learned who says she actually welcomes having gotten . ..a few years older so that she doesn't feel any pressure to be 'perfect! I wonder if she now feels more appreciation for how Miss Corby carved her own trail and was unafraid of seeking new adventures even in her later years. Yeah, it's a great skill that Miss Learned has learned to act without fellow performers 'catching it'! She sure seems to now be enjoying her life in a way that would have made Olivia proud! Thanks so much for sharing this conversation with us!
Speaking of acting without saying a word, I just watched the episode when Olivia borrows the bicycle from Ike's store. That scene of her riding through the woods is so touching! To see a woman taking the time to do a little something for herself with the joy and freedom it brings if only for an afternoon. Beautiful!
This was special. I loved how Michael was so humbled by your compliments. I know we were watching two excellent actors, but at times it was like watching the characters of Mary Ellen and Olivia. Very, very heartwarming interview.
Wow! I love that I just saw two people that I grew up with living their best lives! The Waltons was my childhood joy and now I'm 53 and still watch it when it's on. I know you were all acting, but you are one family that was family to a little girl in Canada. Thank you Judy & Michael for the work you did and the cozy times I spent enjoying my time on Walton's Mountain.
The reason the show worked in my eyes besides the great writing is the cast...if all of you kids fought and bickered and didn't like each other it would have stood out. The fact all of you kids and adults then and now got along and still do basicly consider yourselves family and the love is real came through on screen. It is simply something that was either there or it wasn't as i don't think you could fake real family love all of those years if it wasn't real. I think that is a huge reason why The Waltons as well as a few other family shows did so well and still have legions of fans...and we all know those family lessons and values are so badly needed nowadays. That kitchen is so beautiful...and it is always great seeing your videos Judy. I am the type that likes to know the back stories and I appreciate your content a lot🙂
I love what they did with Olivia's character after she more or less went through the empty nest. She showed her strength throughout the show being a Mom and then went on to college, became a teacher. If only we all had that kind of strength to move through life graciously. You Michael portrayed the character very well!
Loved seeing you and Olivia together again. I am amazed at all the great memories and feelings that came flooding back in my mind and heart by just seeing her again. Her role in the Waltons reminds me that she was always the mother I wish i had as a child. Tremendous acting by her that hit at the heart. Thanks for sharing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once again I really enjoyed watching your interview with MIchael. She really should write a book about her life. Thank you Judy for bringing us this interview. It was great.

Judy you were great saying exactly what we fans think, Michael 's Presence grew bigger as each season was completed and after Ellen's stroke she was at her peak acting is much more than number of scenes and number of lines
It’s obvious Michael had such a positive impact on you Judy, both as an actress and a mother figure. I enjoyed this as much as your interview with Tom Bower.
Wonderful talk with Michael. Thank you also for letting us be apart of your life and the cast as well. The Waltons will forever be a treasure of wonderful memories of a simpler time and place. Have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving 😊

How wonderful to watch! I absolutely loved The Waltons. The acting never seemed like acting. It all seemed so natural. I was a huge fan of Michael’s and of yours, as I was also a nurse, married to a doctor. How nice to see that you are such natural lovely people. I so enjoyed your interview!
This format of having a guest and cooking while talking and then having a sit-down interview in part 2 is great! Love Michael and you of course. Great Interview!

An excellent interview with two wonderful actors! What a treat to reminisce with Michael! Thank-you so much! The Waltons always brings back so many fond memories of my childhood! My dad would say "Goodnight John boy" (his name being John) as he related to that pivotal time. Great family values for generations of viewers! 💜
Watching all the interview's of the Walton bunch, ya'll are all so sweet and awesome it's no wonder ya'll got along so well, you guys are great. I love the show and I'm still watching it 😊
I was so happy to see both of you together. It certainly brought back some wonderful memories of The Waltons. I loved hearing about Ralph Waite. Thank you Judy.

Not to take anything away from Patricia Neal, but there was, is, and always will be only ONE Olivia Walton, and that is Michael Learned. Thank you both!
I have always admired Michael Learned. My favorite part of your interview was when she told you that “it was easy to love you!” Your reaction to her comment was like a daughter being validated by her Mother.
Back in 2020 I was very sick & had zero energy. All I really remember is laying on the couch & between snoozing watching The Waltons play over & over on the tv. It brought me calmness & easy listening to my stressed mind 💛
Michael is such an interesting woman apart from being a wonderful actor. I'd love to hear more about her early life on the farm & in Austria & England. Sit down & write, Michael! lol I find too, that as I grow older, I'm busy all the time but don't know what I do. I also find time flying by at a rapid pace, so fast, I can't believe it. 50 years since the Walton's aired & I watched, in my pajamas with my family. 50? Say what?? 😂😂 Thanks for sharing!
@@judynorton2598 Btw, I'm watching "The Lie" right now where Ben drives Nancy Madden to Charlottesville to see her mother, someone steals John Boy's car & gets into an accident. About 3/4 into the episode, Michael is talking to John Boy at the kitchen table & tells him that she's eating out of nervousness & takes & eats at least 2 bites of chocolate cake. She was not pretending as the alluded to during your interview. Check it out.
Wonderful interview and one of the best tv series ever. Thank you for this heartwarming 2 part interview with Michael Learned. I’m 6 months older than you and grew up watching this wonderful show.
I grew up with the Waltons, it was my favorite show. I'm the same age as Judy. I still watch The Homecoming every year in Dec, multiple times. I never get tired of watching it. I always wanted to live on Waltons mountain and to be a nurse. I did become a nurse after serving 12 years in the Navy. I lived in Dumfries, VA for 25 years. It's not Waltons mountain but VA is beautiful. I now live in the mountains of Pennsylvania, as a retired nurse.
I so enjoyed this chat and seeing the two of you together. What each of you brought to the Waltons obviously has stayed in the hearts of millions of viewers. I'm only sorry I have not seen either of you on stage. As a young feminist when the series began, I understood Michael Learned's frustration with the limitations of the "Mama" role, but, oh, what it added to the show and to our lives. Her strength and determination came through in ways that were anything but narrow in terms of female stereotypes. That made the character, as she played it, anything but boring and quite relevant for those times. I can say the same for how you played Mary Ellen, Judy. Thanks to you both for this.
You guys are so sweet and wonderful! I am such a fan of the show. This was such a delight to come across 😊 What a great interview and just listening to the two of you was so enjoyable ❤
Great episode, Judy! I'm glad you had Michael on your show. Regarding her leaving the show, it was uncharacteristic of Olivia, but I understand Michael's reasons for not having stronger storylines. Too bad they didn't build on her anti-war stance. They could have made her an early activist (meaning, I don't think we had too many protesters for WWII as we did for Vietnam and thereafter). Or, they could have created a job for her. The daycare center was a great storyline, but we never heard or saw it again after that episode. In another matter, I've now moved deeper into Virginia from Northern Virginia. Northern Virginia is a suburb of DC. But now that I live in the Hampton Roads area, I'm better able to relate to cities and areas mentioned in the show. I'm just minutes away from Newport News, a place I believe John Boy and others mentioned many times. As for Norfolk, I recently learned (by living in the area) that the pronunciation is "Nah-fook," with the "r" silent. Yesterday, I watched "The Recluse" where Ben goes to Norfolk and it was interesting how Ben pronounced it "correctly," while Darlene's father said it like it's spelled. Earl must have coached Eric on how to pronounce it. Interesting....
I want to say Judy that in 2022 my family- Wife Daughter and Two wonderful children that we adopted in 2013 (but fostered since 2008). Took a trip to Florida for a wedding and made our way to Virginia and visited the Walton mountain. It was an amazing trip and my children learned a lot. Previous to our trip we watched The Walton from beginning to the last show with our children and they totally loved the history. I’ll never forget teaching my kids the history of the early years. Thanks to you all from the Waltons show.
Im watching the Walton marathon while you are interviewing. Besutiful to watch you two as yourselves. I watch the show every nite at 11 to get thru the stress of life in nyc.
My gosh Michael looks fabulous. She’s gorgeous. I could listen to her talk all day. I bet she’s very funny..maybe like a dry, witty personality. I’m so grateful to be able see and listen to both of you Judy. Michael, loved seeing you so very much. ❤️❤️
I was looking forward to Part 2 and I’m not disappointed. I really enjoyed it. You’re both amazing actors and a lot of fun to watch and hear you both speak about your lives. I recently watched the limited series “Dahmer” on Netflix. I admit it was strange at first to see Michael Learned as Dahmer’s grandmother because to so man,y of us she is also “Olivia Walton”. But wow, what a talented and diverse actor! I hope you have more interviews with the cast members of The Waltons. Blessings to you Judy.
My hubby and i watch on Hallmark every day, especially since he's dealing with his long illness. I spend my day loving my family with continually more offers of coffee, blankets, home baked cookies and Sunday dinners while my hubby is still with us. I never tire of being a tireless mom and wife. The Waltons are wonderful moment and a sweet expression of real family life and love. Life is what you make of it.
It was so great to see you both together. So interesting to hear about Michael's perspective on aging and being authentic to herself. Especially loved hearing her reminisce about Ralph Waite and the special relationship they had. Her early dream of being a ballerina might not have come true but we are all the better for her acting career!❤
I am in my 60s & again re-watching the Waltons. I first watched in my teenage years & I think I love it more now than I did then. Each time I see that house, it reminds me of the way my paternal grandparents lived when I was a child. It's a show that relaxes & comforts me, which you don't see much of anymore. I enjoyed watching the changes in all the characters over the different seasons & especially loved all the experiences Mary Ellen went through, especially when she met Curt & soon said 'I wouldn't marry you if you were the last man on earth!' These two ladies are very talented actresses & both were always beautiful & played their parts so well. The Waltons would definitely be a show to be proud of being a part of! Thank you ladies for your contributions to a well loved TV show!
Micheal Learned has really carried her age well. Hard to believe she's over 80.

I’d love to read that book :)
Always love Judy. Grew up with The Waltons. A few years ago I finally visited “Walton’s Mountain.”
That’s awesome!
Back in 2020 I was very sick & had zero energy. All I really remember is laying on the couch & between snoozing watching The Waltons play over & over on the tv. It brought me calmness & easy listening to my stressed mind 💛
So touched to hear the show helped you through a difficult period in your life. Hope you are back enjoying life to the fullest once again.
♥♥♥♥!!!! More please.
That was so lovely Judy ! Loved hearing about Micheals early life. Thank you for sharing your visit with us.
So glad you enjoyed our visit.
Judy, thank you so much for sharing memories of the "Waltons". I thoroughly enjoy each memory and the other cast members you have as guests.
Glad you enjoyed it
Michael is such an interesting woman apart from being a wonderful actor.
Amazing how the time flies by. Where did the last 50 years go??? lol
@@csrothlisberger852 Michael did say if we saw her actually eat it was probably cake or pie :)
@@judynorton2598 That sweet tooth will do it every time :)
Wonderful interview and one of the best tv series ever. Thank you for this heartwarming 2 part interview with Michael Learned. I’m 6 months older than you and grew up watching this wonderful show.
Thank. you so much!
You’re almoujmost welcome! 🤗🤗
That is so great that you became a nurse for real. I’m sure you lived a very fulfilling life.
I was thrilled to see Richard Thomas in To Kill A Mockingbird last March in Ft Lauderdale!!!! What a thrill, also!❤
I love that. Thank you so much.
Lovely... Just fun and lovely. 🌹
So glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
I didn't want part #2 to be over! I, was so engaged in Judy's questions, and M.L....answers!!! Great segment ❤
Glad you wanted it to continue.
That was lovely…I felt like I was there. Thank you 💛
So glad. Thank you.
You guys are so sweet and wonderful! I am such a fan of the show. This was such a delight to come across 😊 What a great interview and just listening to the two of you was so enjoyable ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
It was precious ❤
I didn’t realize , Judy Norton (Mary Ellen)!! She looks great also! I bet that was exciting interviewing, her TV mom!! Great interview!! ❤❤
So glad you enjoyed this.
Thank you so much for joining us for this family visit.
Beautiful smile on
Michael
Godloveyou much wow
Wonderful! More, more, more!
So glad you enjoyed it.
Absolutely loved the two segments with you and Michael. Both of you are so lovely, sweet and talented!
Thank you so much.
Oh wow. That is so wonderful to hear. It means a lot to me to hear how your family has embraced the show.
I enjoyed seeing you together so much! It will always seem like you are family still. Love the show, it’s my favorite of all time. ❤
Thank you so much.
Im watching the Walton marathon while you are interviewing. Besutiful to watch you two as yourselves. I watch the show every nite at 11 to get thru the stress of life in nyc.
Thank you so much.
These two segments were delightful!! Thank you Judy for doing them.
My pleasure. Loved spending time with Michael.
My gosh Michael looks fabulous. She’s gorgeous. I could listen to her talk all day. I bet she’s very funny..maybe like a dry, witty personality. I’m so grateful to be able see and listen to both of you Judy. Michael, loved seeing you so very much. ❤️❤️
So glad you enjoyed this.
Thank you. So glad you enjoyed our visit.
Absolutely. You are clearly creating a beautiful meaningful life. I hope your hubby is better soon.
Judy and Michael are so genuine 💓.
Thank you so much.
These videos and interviews are the absolute best. Period.
Thank you so much.
It was so great to see you both together. So interesting to hear about Michael's perspective on aging and being authentic to herself. Especially loved hearing her reminisce about Ralph Waite and the special relationship they had. Her early dream of being a ballerina might not have come true but we are all the better for her acting career!❤
So glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you so much.
