I would like to say a big “thank you” to David. To me, Jim Bob was the soul of the show. The scene when Olivia has to leave because of her TB and all Jim Bob says is “mama”, I crumble every time. This was a real gift. The reason everyone asks for David Harper is because he is kind of elusive in terms of being out there as an actor, or in interviews. As a fan of the show, there is no lesser character or actor. We want to hear from all of the family because every single person involved in the show gave us so much to look forward to every week. Thanks for sharing David with us. Thanks David for sharing.
Dear Betsey Keller, I like what you said, "no lesser character on the show". That is so very true! They were all special in their way. And they were all amazing actors. I told Judy Norton that the new show I watched, the remake, was very hollow. I didn't blame the actors, I didn't blame the writers, but the set wasn't the old barn. It wasn't out in the woods. The furniture was nice the house was clean, and everyone had good clothes on their backs. It just didn't work because the original cast, and makeup, and set crews, did such a great job of making everything depression era buildings, clothes, and all the props that they used. Like I mentioned in another reply. My elderly mother was a child during the depression. She watches the show on one of these retro programs that shows old shows like this. Sometimes I catch tears in her eyes. Cuz she remembers those times and growing up that way. And I know Judy mentioned struggling, not wanting to be pigeonholed as Mary Ellen Walton for the rest of her acting career. And I greatly understand that, and I'm glad she's finally at peace with the fact that what she and the other characters did was bring something very special to everyone that watched the show. You have to be an amazing actor to be able to touch so many people the way the cast of The waltons did.
He is illusive because of trolls. Plenty of nasty trolls that have badgered him through the years. I respect his desire for privacy and do not blame hm one bit.
I know David is a private person and I'm so glad that he decided to do this interview. What he said about how they were hired to play a family and actual became a family in real life is so true. You can see it in the interaction between all of you in the episodes and fifty years later it's still there. That warmth and kinship is still alive.
so happy to see David being interviewed. some of my absolute favorite episodes are the ones with Jim Bob. the one when he thought he was adopted, and the one where he ran away and John Boy was having tea talking to him about how important he was to the family. thank you so much Judy. enjoy your vacation.
Loved this!! Jim Bob was always so believable and such a true kid ! His meal prayers were the best because you found out what he did that day and what they were eating!! Such a "rich" character!!
What a special treat for us fans! Thank you Judy and David for your memories. With each of these “guest” videos, it just goes to show just what a special cast of actors everyone was. My only regret is that those who have passed aren’t around to share their personal memories with us.. I hope more of these videos are in our future. 👍🏻
Hi Robert....yes, sad there are so few of us remaining... However, thanks to Google you can simply type in the names and there are many marvelous interviews on RUclips! John
Oh my gosh! You Walton people are just too much! How generous of all of you to guest on Judy's show and share your thoughts and appreciation for the people you worked with both actors and behind the scenes. I just adored when Jim Bob comforted little Elizabeth about her not being able to have puppies! He was just a wee mite himself. And, especially The Day of Infamy, Jim Bob/David carried a very sad and important message not just for Mary Ellen but for all viewers who lost fathers, husbands, sons, brothers, and friends. James Robert☺️ was always fun with his inventions! I loved the shortwave radio wherein he was able to contact the English children's mother! How dear to hear your kind regards, David! Bless you all! Judy, thanks so much for your work creating these lovely interviews and memories. Have a wonderful anniversary and safe travels! 🧡
I love to see actors who have reconciled with their iconic characters of the past and are able to, as David said, take another look at their work objectively. Then, despite knowing what is behind the curtain, they are able to appreciate their work the way that we do. Wonderful, believable stories and characters we love like old friends. More than that, it was you Judy and David we loved, not just your characters. You have given us all so many great memories!
Loved how Jim Bob was the glue that kept the children together. I loved most of his story lines & his spirit of wonder & courage to become exactly as he said he would. He has no clue how many of us just loved his character & still do! It's great to hear his voice again!
What an absolute delight to see David and to get his take on things. thank you Judy for making that happen. And thank you David, it was great to hear from you 😀
Oh my!!!! Thank you David and Judy!!!! You just made watching twice a week priceless. You were the missing piece, David. I so appreciate you both and can’t thank you enough.
The Waltons was such a huge part of my childhood. My grandma would come over to babysit my brother and me while my parents were at choir practice. Wonderful memories! You were all such excellent actors and actresses...It made the audience feel like we were part of the Walton family.
Great to see David! My most memorable Jim Bob scene was when his Guinea pig died and Jim Bob runs away. So touching. Also when he gets the tattoo. Thank you for sharing this today!
David you were such a cute little boy! Great acting from you and all the other children. Watched every episode of The Waltons 50 years ago and am now watching them daily. Such beautiful writing and storylines. Many days I am in tears after watching.
Wow, David is so chill. What a treat to see that. He's really fabulous to listen to. He has such love for the show. Thank you Judy for getting him on the show. Now the big challenge - Michael Learned!
Funny how Mr. Harper said that the late Mr. Waite had told off-color jokes during the dinner scenes. Mr. Hamner fessed that his own father had had a much more profane vocabulary than John Walton would have on the show. However, both the fictional character AND the elder Mr. Hamner were dedicated to their large families (and Mr. Waite would admit that he himself would get inspired to be a better man via having played John Walton). I appreciate Mr. Harper sharing his recollections and hope all is currently well with him and his loved ones. Thanks for hosting this and sharing this with us (and have fun on your trip)!
I always enjoyed Jim-Bob's story lines in the show. It was wonderful to see him in this segment Judy. All the best to David, he grew up to be as sweet as his character was:)
I wanted to click "Like" as soon as I saw David Harper's name on this video! I'm so glad that David joined in the video series and shared his story with us. Hopefully he knows that fans can appreciate his private life, but we also want him to know how much we enjoyed him - and everyone - on the show. Cheers!!
So happy that David did this interview, Judy 💕 I love the cast of The Waltons !! Much love , happiness & good health to you both. ❤️🤍💙 Thank you for wonderful Waltons years 🙌🏻
Even though we were hired to be a family, we REALLY WERE A FAMILY has got to be my favorite quote from an actor on this wonderful show! And from the bottom of my heart l can tell you, we the fans knew and felt that! There really was a family named the Waltons!❤😊❤
So glad David was able to visit. His character was so special to me, especially in the scene with Olivia after he finds out he had a twin who died. So touching that it made me cry. As a child actor, David was so believable! Jim-Bob was a bird of a different feather and was so kind-hearted. And I agree with David that it hurt to see Richard leave but the show survived and thrived. Thank you for all your hard work!
Judy you just made my whole day again!! Thank you!! Thank you! Thank you!! So great to see David I love everything you all have ever done especially when Mary Ellen got into the fight to protect Jim Bob. It means so much that you always take time out for the fans! May God bless and keep you all always and have a safe trip!!!🥰
I’m so thankful for David-Jim Bob coming on to talk. One of my favorites. I love the very tender heart he always portrayed on the show. The show about his airplane and love for flying was one of my favorites. Bless you all!
I’ve been waiting for this interview!! Thank you Judy!! I’m watching it right now but wanted to comment now. I loved Jim Bob. I cried so much when Jim Bob delivered the bad news to Mary Ellen about Curt’s death. Great to see you David!!!! 💗. P.S. Nice tidbit about Debbie Reynolds’ brother!! And have a great trip Judy 😃
I'm 75 years old and still enjoy watching the Waltons. My parents lived through that era; My Dad became a B-24 pilot and my Mom worked in a war production plant. Our family consisted in Dad, Mom, me (the oldest) and my three brothers. Mom always hoped for a daughter but after the 4th boy said "That's it!". OOPS; it's time for the Walton's. Bye, Greg.
Awesome! So good to see David! Such a sweet soul! Yes. All of you are guys are way more than just the Waltons. You have proven that many times with your beautiful singing, and your other work. Richard is a TREMENDOUS stage actor, and so good in other projects as well. Who can forget David's funny scene with Chevy Chase in Fletch when he stole the car! Lol All of you guys are diverse, multitalented individuals, but you will all always be our beloved Waltons in addition to everything else. HAVE A GREAT TRIP!
So wonderful to see David's interview! He always gave such genuine warmth and heart to the show. That still comes through in this video. Really interesting thoughts and reflections. Thank you so much David, and as always Judy, for keeping The Waltons spirit alive for all of us. ❤️❤️
All of the Walton characters are beloved to me! I could relate to every child on the show at some point in time for I was growing up too in a large family of 10 kids. I'm now at the age where I relate to Grandma and Grandpa and have watched the reruns through every season of my life. Thank you all for your work on a show that can never be equaled.
Great interview with David, Judy! You gave him the majority of time to talk, which is good. His outlook and descriptions were needed in your interviews, and he added good perspective about the show. Great job, Judy...
How wonderful to be with David again... thank you for sharing this with us. My memories of David bring a smile to my face and heart, there was something special between us, and that was humor and laughter...and David was a total and complete pro...as were all the Kids, always prepared, always knew their lins. I do recall one instance when we were ready to roll on Stage 26 and I couldn't find David...I finally spotted him walking, kicking a can alongside Stage 27 where they were shooting "Dukes Of Hazard" he was just lost in a daydream of, to my best recollection, driving that famous Duke Car, "The General Lee"...I also recall while shooting "The Great Motorcycle Race David grabbed my shirt and said, "I want you next to be next to me in the parade down the street".I finally saw the episode recently on MeTv and, yup, there I was; I still have a special place in my heart for Davidand love for him, and for all of us who are still around today.
@@brianhoover8414 - A common reply during the younger adolescence of David/Jim Bob - "Sorry! I guess I just wasn't thinking..." anytime he was found with his head in the clouds, especially by Ralph Waite/John! And as a future aviator, in his heart and his dreams, that was often for him!
Thank you, David, for talking with Judy. It was so nice to see & hear from you and to get your perspective of what it was like to work on the show so long ago. And of course, thank you, Judy, for inviting David to talk with you. I enjoyed the interview!
What a treat to see David again! Two of the most poignant scenes he was in were when Jim Bob told Mary Ellen that Curt was killed at Pearl Harbor. The other one I loved was the last scene of the episode when he found out he was a twin. No dialogue,. He just came in the house and hugged Olivia. It still breaks me up.
I’ve watched The Waltons since I was little, and Jim Bob has always been my favorite. His courage and determination to reach for his dreams has always been so inspirational to me, and I related to the fact that he found his passion very young. Hearing from David was very special. Thank you both so much for sharing!
I loved David Harper as Jim bob. He was so so Special and such an important part of the Show. I can't imagine what this iconic show would have been like without Jim bob. Such an adorable actor to watch grow up. One thing I have to say is his voice sounds exactly the same today as it did on the Walton's. Great interview Judy and so great to David Harper. I will always love 💕 the Walton's.
@@judynorton2598 That would be awesome. David genuinely, has that same loving kind natured spirit about him that he portrayed on the show. You could see then that he had a huge heart and still today he comes across the same. Again Judy thank you for your BTS interviews with your very special tv family. I love seeing each and everyone of them. I recently saw your interview with Cindy, bens wife on the show and she also hadn't changed and had the same kind hearted sweet personality she portrayed on the show as well. So thank you again. We look forward to many more interviews with all of the Walton cast members. Your cast was superb and your show was such a huge part of my life. And so many other people. Great to see everyone. 🌹
@@judynorton2598 I can see how Richard Thomas leaving the show had such a huge impact on all the cast members. David said in his interview that he didn't enjoy the last seasons as much as he did the first five when Richard was on the show. He talked about how very much he missed Richard, wow that is so sweet and it just warms my heart. I always felt that Richard and David had a close connection on the show. Especially when he found out David that he had a twin brother who died at birth. Such a powerful show from beginning to end. Love the deep bonds that everyone on the show developed. 🌷💜
Judy, another wonderful look back with David. I enjoyed Jim-Bob's passion with aircraft and automobiles. I cannot imagine those day-long dinner table scenes! It's good to hear that Ralph Waite was on hand to tell his jokes! Simply wonderful. Thank you Judy.
Oooooh you angel 😇 thank you. I had a crush on Jim-Bob when I was young. He was so sweet and kind-hearted. He hasn't changed and so still so shy. Waving hi from 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 love you David ❤️❤️❤️ Judy love ❤️ you too xxxxxx
Thanks for getting David here. Great to hear from him. I think David's emotional honesty is what made his work so believable. From smart remarks to the sisters, the episode when he finds out he had a twin, when he runs away and probably my favorite, the scene between Jim Bob and Corabeth when he's changing the tire for her and she helps him to realize he can still follow his dream, it just might be a different path.
So so happy to see David (Jim Bob) again. Everyone had a vital role to play on the show and David played his very well. My favorite episode was when Mama, Jim Bob and Elizabeth went to visit someone and the car got a flat. It was Jim Bob who remembered everything he was taught by Grandpa and saved the day. What does David do today? Enjoy your trip Judy!
Why am I only seeing this now?? I am so thrilled to see David Harper again. The first thing that moved me was hearing that his voice was the same. The years just fell away!
I'm so glad David decided to speak, I know he is a very private person. Thanks David for making the effort, Jim Bob had some great stories and you played the part very well if you are reading this, I was about the same age as Jim Bob when I first saw the episodes here in the UK and I wished my family was as big and caring as the Waltons. Thanks and do come back and share some more stories if you feel like it, and thanks Judy for a wonderful series of videos and your work connecting with the fans of the show.
I had the pleasure of visiting David at his home when he lived in the Los Angeles area. He was very kind and generous. I purchased several of his Waltons scripts and he signed them for me. David's father, Paul Harper, was an actor as well. He had a role in the Sam Peckinpah classic "The Wild Bunch". David is a fine actor and his character on the show is so unique. I'm so happy you were able to get him for your show. I hope there is a part 2!
WOW!! HOW wonderful to see David. I MUST say that one of my favourite scenes in the Homecoming is when Jim-Bob and little Elizabeth are talking in the loft. SO sweet!!! THANK YOU so much for this great interview!
The Waltons was perfection. How else can I explain watching this show so many times and still be moved during emotional scenes. The network I watch is showing episodes from 1974. I have seen the 1st 5 yrs countless times. Never gets old So glad to hear from David, since we have been led to believe he has chosen to live a private life. He is very engaging. Strange to hear him say he had a hard time watching himself. David you were a fantastic actor. Understated and so sensitive.
Finally, an interview with David Harper AKA Jim-Bob! Looks like you've done everybody else in the cast, and now David. I like seeing him in interviews, and from what I understand he ended up leaving acting to help take care of his dad Paul Harper, who was also an actor and stuntman in many Westerns. As usual, it was an awesome interview! I hope you enjoy your vacation! See you in a few weeks!
Hello Judy...greetings from Londonderry, New Hampshire...thank you for sharing this awesome interview with David Harper. I look forward to Part II. God bless...
David brings up the different guest actors, directors who worked on the show. Back in the late 1980's while working as an assistant at NBC, I had the pleasure of working with Waltons writer John McGreevey. John and I worked on a 4 hour miniseries. I'm so glad I got to know him, he was so talented.
John was such a talented writer. He did indeed write some of our most beautiful episodes and was nominated for an Emmy for several Waltons episodes he wrote as well as winning an Emmy for the episode The Scholar. Well deserved.
Thank you David Harper! We’re about the same age and I remember the original broadcasts with you and all the children. Looks like you all had fun with the show.
Oh my goodness!!!!!! Thank you so much David and Judy! You both made my year! David, you were an absolutely priceless little boy on the Walton's. I loved your sensitive little soul. I keep posting that I love every cast member, but there was something about how you portrayed Jim Bob that absolutely melted my heart! I SO appreciate you talking to Judy and letting us all see you and hear your perspective! Thank you, thank you!
Thanks so much to you and David for making this happen! Yes, I have been one of those requesting to hear from David since he is the one I connected with on the program the most, being the same age and being the most relatable. Fascinating to hear his thoughts today. That must have been grueling to wait around in between scenes as my Mom could hardly keep me still for even one hour of church every week. We didn't have the luxury of smart phones to keep us occupied. So tough to ask a child to behave like an adult in a working environment. But for all that was lost, I hope David and all of you continue to reap the rewards from the love we send to you for touching our lives through the program.
David looks and sounds great here as does Judy!! 👍 It's so great to see him and am wishing him the best and we're the same age so I grew up kinda watching through his eyes. Bless you both.❤❤😊
Enjoyed hearing from Mr. David Harper...Jim Bo. Everyone of the children seemed so natural with their characters. Hard to believe it has been 50 years since The Waltons. So glad that they are in reruns. Have a Happy Anniversary and safe travels to Paris Ms Judy and husband.
It's great to hear you and David not only talk about the show, but talk a bit about life outside of the show and its affect on your lives. You all are so much more than your Waltons characters!!! Now you have an awesome vacation and enjoy being "just another face in the crowd"!!!
I recently saw the entire show's box set on sale and I thought, why not...and then I fell in love with the Waltons all over again, much to my surprise in a way, I'm the same age as Richard Thomas (one year younger but who's counting), I'm so happy to see Judy Norton and David Harper reminiscing, it made me feel so happy , and I want to thank Judy for this wonderful podcast with "Jim-Bob" David, so natural and friendly, I love everything about Richard Thomas' career, I was very sad back then when he left the show but seeing season one, episode two where Olivia worries about John-Boy soon to leave the nest helped me understand his courageous choice to expand his career, at least he did come back occasionally and is in every reunion,...I'm 72 now and still grateful to all of you guys and the whole production team for the gift that was "The Waltons"...it's not so much about nostalgia but rather about the genuine love , the characters, the still relevant stories, I just plain love you all❤, thanks for everything!!
Judy and David thank you so much for this segment and sharing your memories of The Waltons. David was spot on when he said you all were a family that is what has made the Waltons after 50 years still so special. David you were such a sweet sole as Jim Bob. Thank you both again.
The actors portraying the Walton kids were completely believable. And the eldest daughter and youngest son were very special. Both had strong prrsonalities and we felt their pains and triumphs right along with them. You both have aged well.
thank u Judy u have made my day I've been waiting to c David and u talking for long time no one could've played Jim Bob so well as David did he is such a great talent and I am just in awe of him
I know I'm not the only one who has been anxiously waiting for you to interview David. Jim Bob had such an innocence about him, even when he got older. It was fun - and sometimes awkward - to see him experiencing adult situations. David said he just wanted to be believable. He definitely was. And I can't even think about the episode with the guinea pig without crying!
I agree with all the comments I’ve read so far. The show will always be timeless and future generations will relate to it also. I enjoy reading the comments and was going to read them all, until I see there are over 1.2K replies! Wow! So many of us appreciate The Waltons and enjoy your YT videos. Thanks so much Judy! And great to see Jim-Bob after all these years. ❤
I love Jim Bob! What a great treat this morning! I always thought Jim bob had the biggest heart and I loved how he treated Elizabeth. Especially the scene when Mary Ellen is getting married and they promise each other they will never marry and never leave the mountain. ❤️ I miss my brothers. Both have passed away and I'm only child living in my family.
So very happy to see David! I have often thought of him through the years, and wondered how he was doing. He looks great. Thank you David for letting us all see and hear from you. Blessings on both of you. 💕
When “Jim Bob” found out he has a twin that passed away, his acting was so heart wrenching. And when he walked in and hugged his mom. Breaks my heart every time. And on one of the reunion movies when “Mary Ellen” sort of went in on him for his life choices and he said basically that he wants to have someone too, and to not be living where his plane is. His face broke my heart in that scene
I was thrilled to see that you were doing an interview with David Harper. These interviews are always so enjoyable. I love seeing the cast members and others involved in the show. I grew up watching The Waltons, so when these interviews are shown, it's a lot like seeing an old friend. Every one of you did such an amazing job playing your characters. Thank you so much to you and David for sharing this wonderful and fun video. Judy, I hope you have a great anniversary trip with your husband!
YAY 😁 Finally we get to see & hear from David 😊 the scene from "Day Of Infamy" is my favorite between Jim Bob & Mary Ellen, when he tells of Curt's passing, very emotional & well done.✌️
Great interview with David ! I think all the actors have left a legacy and are remembered for their part all these years later , I think that’s great myself ! It’s much more difficult to be remembered for 1 movie part ! Other series that are successful and have run for years , folks still remember those actors for their talent , they should be remembered!
Thank you Judy and David. David was very insightful to look at “ the business” from a child’s point of view. Thank you for doing the interview and have a great time on your trip!
I’ve watched more times than you David lol I’ve watched at least 10 times. I watch everyday I think it keeps me grounded and also it reminds me of my own family and how we done things a lot like Walton’s did. I miss those days so much!!!
I would like to say a big “thank you” to David. To me, Jim Bob was the soul of the show. The scene when Olivia has to leave because of her TB and all Jim Bob says is “mama”, I crumble every time. There is something about you, a gentleness that comes from God above. God has blessed you and I truly hope we see you again!
Me too, especially when he was the first one to go up & hug her. Jim-Bob didn’t show his emotions very much, so this scene is so special.
Yes, there will be more with David coming up while I’m gone.
I absolutely agree!
And when he told Mary Ellen about the death of her husband at Pearl Harbor. Gets me every time.

So glad you enjoyed it. It was great of David to take time to come join me.
Thank you so much.
A BIG AMEN!
Loved how Jim Bob was the glue that kept the children together. I loved most of his story lines & his spirit of wonder & courage to become exactly as he said he would. He has no clue how many of us just loved his character & still do! It's great to hear his voice again!
Wonderful. Part 2 with David coming next.
He was the one who toldMary Ellen about Kurt at Pearl Harbor. Great scene, great episode
I absolutely agree!
So nice to hear from David! He is such a humble, genuine guy. Thanks Judy and David!
Thanks for joining us.
James Robert!!!! One of my favorite characters!!! Thanks again for these great episodes!!!!
Thanks for joining us.
I'm so happy David was finally able to do this interview..Ecstatic to hear from him.
His insights are interesting
What an absolute delight to see David and to get his take on things. thank you Judy for making that happen. And thank you David, it was great to hear from you 😀
Glad you enjoyed it.
Oh my!!!! Thank you David and Judy!!!! You just made watching twice a week priceless. You were the missing piece, David. I so appreciate you both and can’t thank you enough.
Thank you for sharing this Judy and David finally we got him on. Once again Judy Thank you Thank you and have a safe trip enjoy ❤️
Glad you enjoyed this. There will be more parts with David.
David was a great guest! You both were great in this interview!
So nice to see David Harper and hear his recollections of being on the Waltons...Thanks David!!
Glad you enjoyed it
The Waltons was such a huge part of my childhood. My grandma would come over to babysit my brother and me while my parents were at choir practice. Wonderful memories! You were all such excellent actors and actresses...It made the audience feel like we were part of the Walton family.
So glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you David for sitting down with Judy. So good to see you!
Great to see David! My most memorable Jim Bob scene was when his Guinea pig died and Jim Bob runs away. So touching. Also when he gets the tattoo. Thank you for sharing this today!
Our pleasure.
I just watched the runaway twice this weekend!! Love it!! So funny when he said the guinea pig killed himself 😂
David you were such a cute little boy! Great acting from you and all the other children. Watched every episode of The Waltons 50 years ago and am now watching them daily. Such beautiful writing and storylines. Many days I am in tears after watching.
Thanks for joining us :) More to come.
Wow, David is so chill. What a treat to see that. He's really fabulous to listen to. He has such love for the show. Thank you Judy for getting him on the show. Now the big challenge - Michael Learned!
Glad you enjoyed this. More with David soon.
Glad you enjoyed it. Part 2 with David next time.
I always enjoyed Jim-Bob's story lines in the show. It was wonderful to see him in this segment Judy. All the best to David, he grew up to be as sweet as his character was:)
Glad you enjoyed it. More to come with David.
David looks great and it is so nice to see him. I love the episodes with cast members, to be able to catch up with them is precious. Thanks, Judy.
A lot of fun for me to spend time with them.
I wanted to click "Like" as soon as I saw David Harper's name on this video! I'm so glad that David joined in the video series and shared his story with us. Hopefully he knows that fans can appreciate his private life, but we also want him to know how much we enjoyed him - and everyone - on the show. Cheers!!
Thanks for joining us. More with David next time.
I loved Jim Bob. He was my favourite Walton's character. He was so sensitive, introspective and kind.
Happy to hear that. More to come with David next.
So happy that David did this interview, Judy 💕 I love the cast of The Waltons !! Much love , happiness & good health to you both. ❤️🤍💙 Thank you for wonderful Waltons years 🙌🏻
Loved Ralph 😍
Glad you enjoyed this. More with David to come.
Judy, the chemistry between you and David is still there. So so grateful and happy that David agreed to this interview.
I agree
So great to have my brother join me.
@@judynorton2598
Your short statement right there made me choke up, calling him your brother...❤️
🌼
Even though we were hired to be a family, we REALLY WERE A FAMILY has got to be my favorite quote from an actor on this wonderful show! And from the bottom of my heart l can tell you, we the fans knew and felt that! There really was a family named the Waltons!❤😊❤
And we still are to this day.
So happy we got to see and hear from David! Seems like such a gentle soul! ❤️
He is very sweet - I have great “brothers”. :)
Our pleasure. More with David next segment.
He had some memorable episodes especially in the later episodes. David added so much to this interview! Awesome memory. Come back again David!
Thank you very much.
I’m so thankful for David-Jim Bob coming on to talk. One of my favorites. I love the very tender heart he always portrayed on the show. The show about his airplane and love for flying was one of my favorites. Bless you all!
Glad you enjoyed it. More with David coming soon.
I was beginning to think we'd never hear from David on this channel! Thank you Judy and David!
Thank you.
Bye, Greg.
Sounds like you had a wonderful family of your own.
Lol
All of you guys are diverse, multitalented individuals, but you will all always be our beloved Waltons in addition to everything else.
HAVE A GREAT TRIP!
Thank you so much for that.
One of my favorites was The Secret where Jim-Bob finds out he had a twin. Some beautifully touching scenes in that episode.
Absolutely.
So wonderful to see David's interview! He always gave such genuine warmth and heart to the show. That still comes through in this video. Really interesting thoughts and reflections. Thank you so much David, and as always Judy, for keeping The Waltons spirit alive for all of us. ❤️❤️
Our pleasure.
I agree. His character was kind of the heart of the show. I don't think he realizes it tho!
So happy to see David. He seems like such a sweet guy 😊
He is indeed.
How wonderful to relive your own life along with the show.
Great interview with David, Judy! You gave him the majority of time to talk, which is good. His outlook and descriptions were needed in your interviews, and he added good perspective about the show. Great job, Judy...
There will be more segments with David coming up.
Daydreaming like he did on the Walton's!
@@sharidavenport5283 Totally agree
Aww more sweet memories. Thanks, John.
Thank you, David, for talking with Judy. It was so nice to see & hear from you and to get your perspective of what it was like to work on the show so long ago. And of course, thank you, Judy, for inviting David to talk with you. I enjoyed the interview!
Glad you enjoyed it. More soon with David.
I know exactly what you mean. So simple and powerful.
Yes and they never spoke about him learning of his twin to honor Olivia’s feelings.
I’ve watched The Waltons since I was little, and Jim Bob has always been my favorite. His courage and determination to reach for his dreams has always been so inspirational to me, and I related to the fact that he found his passion very young. Hearing from David was very special. Thank you both so much for sharing!
Our pleasure. Part 2 with David next segment.
Thanks for joining us. More to come with David.
Glad you enjoyed it
Oooooh you angel 😇 thank you. I had a crush on Jim-Bob when I was young. He was so sweet and kind-hearted.
He hasn't changed and so still so shy. Waving hi from 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 love you David ❤️❤️❤️ Judy love ❤️ you too xxxxxx
Thanks David! So great to hear from you! I had no idea you were in The Blue & The Gray! I remember watching that! Cool!
Thank you David and Judy for all the memories The show enriched all our lives .
🥰
Thanks for getting David here. Great to hear from him.
I think David's emotional honesty is what made his work so believable. From smart remarks to the sisters, the episode when he finds out he had a twin, when he runs away and probably my favorite, the scene between Jim Bob and Corabeth when he's changing the tire for her and she helps him to realize he can still follow his dream, it just might be a different path.
So many beautiful scenes he had.
Very nice person in person . I was lucky to meet him and talk with him . Great interview!
That one was on today for me. Never underestimate Jim Bob!😊
He had so many wonderful episodes. We’ll continue our chat next time. Stay tuned ;)
Why am I only seeing this now?? I am so thrilled to see David Harper again. The first thing that moved me was hearing that his voice was the same. The years just fell away!
So glad you found these.
Yes, there will be more coming up of my talk with David.
@@judynorton2598 Fantastic ! I'll be watching.
Glad you enjoyed it. yes, there will be a Part 2 next week :)
@@judynorton2598 Thanks Judy. Looking forward to part 2. Have a wonderful trip!
WOW!! HOW wonderful to see David. I MUST say that one of my favourite scenes in the Homecoming is when Jim-Bob and little Elizabeth are talking in the loft. SO sweet!!! THANK YOU so much for this great interview!
One of my favorites
That scene was so adorable.
The Waltons was perfection. How else can I explain watching this show so many times and still be moved during emotional scenes. The network I watch is showing episodes from 1974. I have seen the 1st 5 yrs countless times. Never gets old
So glad to hear from David, since we have been led to believe he has chosen to live a private life. He is very engaging. Strange to hear him say he had a hard time watching himself. David you were a fantastic actor. Understated and so sensitive.
Glad you enjoyed this. Part 2 with David next week.
Great. Look forward to it.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for joining us.
So glad you enjoyed this. Part 2 with David next week.
@@judynorton2598 I didn't know that there was a part 2! So excited!!
Judy, you are THE BEST. And so are these interviews. Love Love Love.
Thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed our visit… more to come with David.
David looks and sounds great here as does Judy!! 👍 It's so great to see him and am wishing him the best and we're the same age so I grew up kinda watching through his eyes. Bless you both.❤❤😊
Glad you enjoyed our chat.
Thank you very much.
So good to hear from David Harper! I'm really glad he shared some of his experiences! Enjoy your trip!
Thank you.
It's great to hear you and David not only talk about the show, but talk a bit about life outside of the show and its affect on your lives. You all are so much more than your Waltons characters!!! Now you have an awesome vacation and enjoy being "just another face in the crowd"!!!
Thank you very much.
Totally awesome segment. So great to see David. Such a mild mannered Gentleman. Thankyou Judy.
Glad you enjoyed this.
OMG, OMG JIM BOB😊😊😊🌟🌟🙌🏾 THANK YOU JUDY👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comments. I really appreciate it.
Judy and David thank you so much for this segment and sharing your memories of The Waltons. David was spot on when he said you all were a family that is what has made the Waltons after 50 years still so special. David you were such a sweet sole as Jim Bob. Thank you both again.
Our pleasure. More soon.
The actors portraying the Walton kids were completely believable. And the eldest daughter and youngest son were very special. Both had strong prrsonalities and we felt their pains and triumphs right along with them. You both have aged well.
Thank you so much for joining us.
thank u Judy u have made my day I've been waiting to c David and u talking for long time no one could've played Jim Bob so well as David did he is such a great talent and I am just in awe of him
Yes - he was very special as Jim Bob. Perfect casting.
Thank you David! It was so wonderful to hear your thoughts about the show 50 years later.
I truly believe the Walton's was a God thing the show has blessed and is still blessing so many people! God bless you all!!!
I agree… such beautiful work. More with David next time.
As the hurricane roars outside I am watching a Walton interview and again you take me away to another time! Thank you David & Judy!
Stay safe!!
Great to hear from David. Such fun to watch these clips.
Sorry you have lost your brothers. Thanks for continuing to watch.
I am just loving hearing David’s voice again. He was such a quiet yet strong presence in the Waltons and soo very smart, too
Part 2 with David coming next.
So very happy to see David! I have often thought of him through the years, and wondered how he was doing. He looks great. Thank you David for letting us all see and hear from you. Blessings on both of you. 💕
Glad you enjoyed this. More to come with David.
Your voice is still the same!!! I loved it!!! You were a great actor!!! I loved The Waltons!!!
Thank you so much.
I agree. He always got to me :)
Thank you very much.
Oh my goodness there he is 🎊 ❤yeah
Thank you for sharing, Judy and David!!! This makes me want to binge watch "Jim-Bob" centered episodes! 😀
Have fun!!
YAY 😁 Finally we get to see & hear from David 😊 the scene from "Day Of Infamy" is my favorite between Jim Bob & Mary Ellen, when he tells of Curt's passing, very emotional & well done.✌️
Very emotional for me, too.
Great interview with David !
I think all the actors have left a legacy and are remembered for their part all these years later , I think that’s great myself !
It’s much more difficult to be remembered for 1 movie part ! Other series that are successful and have run for years , folks still remember those actors for their talent , they should be remembered!
I understand :)
This is a great episode! Yay!! I love it when you have the cast on! Or anyone that worked on the series. So great to hear from “Jim Bob”.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
That you so much. Good to see you David Harper.
Thanks for joining us for our chat.
Thank you Judy and David. David was very insightful to look at “ the business” from a child’s point of view. Thank you for doing the interview and have a great time on your trip!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
I loved that show so much and Jimbob was so cute when he was little with shiny blonde hair
A cutie indeed.
I’ve watched more times than you David lol I’ve watched at least 10 times. I watch everyday I think it keeps me grounded and also it reminds me of my own family and how we done things a lot like Walton’s did. I miss those days so much!!!
Thanks for joining us.
