Oh Judy …thank you so much for this…GW was one of my favourite characters on the Waltons. His death felt real…the scene with John reading GW’s letter to Erin brings tears no matter often I have watched it. Once more Judy you’ve given us a gift. This channel remains my comfort twice a week. 💕💕💕💕
What a lovely surprise, thank you for sharing your conversation with David Doremus with us Judy! It made me happy to hear you both reminisce about your time on the show ❤️
So much fun to look back on David's career. I think I only have two very short 16mm home movies that include me from that era. I can't imagine what it would be like to have so much film to see yourself growing up like you and David have. Those sure help jog the memory and I enjoy hearing the two of you reminisce.
Thanks for another great video, Judy! I remember David from "Nanny and the Professor" and always liked him as G.W., even feeling sorry for hm after that bossy Mary Ellen threatened to wham him! On another note, I still cringe whenever I see scenes with the Walton kids riding in the back of the pickup, especially with their legs dangled off the back. When I was in the third grade, our teacher, a nun, came into the classroom one morning, looking very distraught and serious. This was unusual, because she normally had a bouncy, fun disposition much like Sister Bertrille in "The Flying Nun." It turns out she had to tell us that one of our classmates (one of my friends) had died tragically over the weekend. He'd been sitting in the back of his dad's pick-up, which was parked on an incline in the driveway. His dad didn't know he was there. When his dad started the truck, Jimmy fell off and his dad backed over him, crushing him to death. I'm now 68, and the sight of my friend Jimmy lying in his casket in his white shirt, burgundy tie, and blue suit with his rosary beads in his hands still haunts me. I still have trouble believing that your producers allowed you kids to sit in the back of that moving truck. Thank God no one was hurt. Thanks to you and David for the interview, and thanks for letting me share. Have a great rest of your week!
Amazing any of us survived our childhood. :). In real life we did crazy things too. Aren’t we all convinced we’re immortal when we’re young? On a serious note, so sorry to hear of the tragic death of young Jimmy. 🙏
Thank you Judy. What a nice informative interview to get to know background of GW. Interesting how because all of you were so young some memories become cloudy. I know that feeling!!! He is such a pleasant guy. Look forward to the next interview. These are the best and well done.

Judy this was a great episode of your show. David Doremus was always a favorite recurring cast member. It was too bad that they killed off his character , although it certainly made for a most dramatic episode in The First Casualty. Looking forward to the next installment with Davud. Thanks Judy ❤
Once again you have put on a great show. It is always a treat to see guys like David and other guest stars after all these years, looks like time has treated him well, he looks healthy and handsome as ever. Great talk with Mr. Doremus re trading war stories re all those accidents and potential accidents in 'Bonanza' and 'The Waltons'! I'll bet if he ever got together with Alison Arngrim from 'Little House' they could REALLY compare notes re him getting a gash in a 'staged fight' and her nearly falling out of a runaway wheelchair that was flying apart but I guess Michael Landon couldn't quite leave behind stunts from his 'Bonanza' days. Of course, it helps that you and Mr. Doremus have good senses of humor about these things instead of totally getting bummed out thinking of them. Thanks for this!

Ellen Corby was on Andy Griffith too. The first I remember her from. I know she was around in Hollywood before that, but I was a kid, a similar age to Ron Howard.

Judy. I hope David talks about his leaving Hollywood in next or future episodes. Such a coincidence that you have him as a guest today, because last week I looked up his bio not much after the Waltons.
It's certainly synchronicity that MeTV is playing the episode where GW sadly passes on. Watching through the episode, I am sad for the news and the acting in the episode is top notch, Emotion was really brought out here. Thanks for that.
Great to see David Doremus on for a two part video and i really liked his character of G.W. but it was sad when his character died off. i also remembered seeing him on Nanny and the Professor before his appearances on the Walton's great to seeing this interview with him and can't wait until the second part. have an awesome Halloween Judy. 🇺🇲📺🇺🇲
Judy, what I enjoy about your show is that you give us the opportunity to see actors that we have not heard from since our childhoods watching The Waltons. David was a wonderful actor and I cry every time I see the last act of The First Casualty. I saw The Bear and The Typewriter last week and I feel that for the children, your character was the most developed and stayed true to her values in the series.
I sure enjoyed this. I met David at an autograph show earlier this year I believe. He was so nice and very accommodating when it came to sharing remembrances of his career. I grew up watching David in "Nanny And The Professor" so we had a nice chat about that. I told him about your RUclips channel and how great it would be for him to join you for a chat. He seemed very interested at that prospect. I don't know if I helped put that into motion or not but I was very happy when you announced you were going to have him as a guest. He was so good as G.W. and really played that part to perfection. Looking forward to part 2.
Good day to you Judy . I really enjoy when u get some of the people to return now to see them now and how there memories of the show was to them Great Work Judy keep it up we all enjoy very much
Such a treat! David/GW makes us smile always! That was some fight and accident on Bonanza!! I love best when GW and Mary Ellen are outdoors after church one chilly Spring day. She's going to teach GW how to dance! Love the GW character for his great kindness, cheerfulness, and courage. Thanks so much for arranging your interview with David, Judy! Thank you, David for creating such a memorable and likable character as GW! ❤
Judy, thank you so much for this. I do recall a bunch of it but not all, of course. Great having him on. I will check out the next part soon and try to catch up on a few I have missed recently.
Hello Judy and David!! David it so great to see you! I loved the character of GW. You were definitely part of the family. One of my favorites is the Easter Story when you are dancing with Mary Ellen and she tells you that she's going to wam you if you don't take her in your arms. The relationship you both had was just priceless! I can't wait for part 2. Thank you both so MUCH!! 🥰
What a wonderful segment and Tks! There is so much fake news and trust me.. I saw something a few years ago which said he had passed away?! So when I saw this today I was so happy!
Hi Judy, this was a great chat, and am looking forward to part 2. Thank you. David Doremus comes across as such a nice man, like his character,GW. In the 'Hunt',he seemed to have conflicting interests -between liking a sporty Mary Ellen, and a more feminine, Martha Rose. I'm glad he chose Mary Ellen, who turned out to be a lovely lady, after all! Did you remember preferring the dress or the mit,to impress him? What would have been the better choice? You looked so sweet,Judy, in that hat holding the baseball glove!
I attended Toll Junior High and Hoover High with David in the 1970s. Any time I mentioned to him that I'd seen him on THE WALTONS he would always respond very graciously.
Thank you Judy, I appreciate this and all your videos. I cried when they killed off GW😥 He was part of the Walton’s family and needed to stay. But I didn’t send any hate mail.
Just saw the episode "The Volunteer " that showcased David's character GW.....very sweet episode....he was an important co star on the show....wonderful actor ❤
Hey kiddo! I was so excited to see David! Again, met him in Waco and what a beautiful spirit he has. I just can't tell you how much the Waco event meant to me. Thank you, David and ALL the cast that appeared in Waco. I do hope to meet Jon and Michael in the future. Great segment as usual, kiddo. Hugs to ya.
Growing up in the 60's and 70's, I used to watch 'Nanny and the Professor' as well as 'The Walton's. I never made the connection he was the same boy who played in both. I thought G.W. was cute and sweet. I remember being sad when he was killed off. Thanks Judy. That was great seeing him again.
Love G.W.’s character on The Waltons!! He was so cute, nice, and such a natural, real and genuine boy on the show. I loved him on The Easter Story, as Mary Ellen’s boyfriend, so cute when she was teaching him how to dance like Fred Astaire and Ginger Roger’s. “Are you gonna hold me closer or am I going to wham you?!!!, lol. He was so sweet and sincere as Erin’s boyfriend, I wish she had married him, they could have had the most adorable little blonde and red haired children!!🥰. I was so sad when he died,😓 he was such a special young man who really fit in with The Waltons family. He was so earnest, truthful and likable❤️
I’ve always been a big fan of the Cisco Kid western series and watch the reruns. I enjoy looking up the actors who played in it. When I look up their biographies and see the lists of what they acted in rarely do they include the Cisco Kid as one of the shows they were in.
I nearly cried when GW died on the show… That one was that really hit my emotions. I couldn’t believe neither your character Mary Ellen nor Erin ended up with GW David.
The moment I saw your thumbnail I knew--GW! This was fun and David looks and sounds great, I can't wait for Part 2. Judy, I love how you include brief clips during your conversation, I totally forgot he was on Nanny and the Professor. Thank you. 😊
Yes, the older sister/younger sister thing happened elsewhere too. For example, first you liked Marcia Brady, then a few seasons later, you preferred Jan.
It was good to see G.W. in this episode of "Ask Judy". You know all of us little guys that had a severe "puppy love crush", on the character of "Mary Ellen'" wasn't too much in kind to G.W. because he was taking our place throwing the football to our "puppy love crush", and we we're a dab mad cause he was so cute. Of course, as time went by, we also aged and grew with "The Waltons" show as part of the family. One of the very saddest shows was years later, when G.W. was off to war and had gotten killed during training prior to facing the battle in the fields. Such a sad show to watch. I was then pretty much a young man. I never stopped watching, "The Waltons" and I cannot tell you how many things that I was prepared for throughout my own life, just because of that very show. Honestly no other show came close to teaching me personally as did "The Waltons" It sounds silly I suppose but I learned something from each episode in my youth. I treasure you all, both in character and real life. I find you all that were on this show have lived a rather stable life also. I've never heard of any of you in real life dying from an overdose, or doing something crazy and hitting the "Nightly World News". I am sure it will remain the same. I see it now, you all grew as I did, through well seasoned actors. I'm sure Will Geer, Ellen Corby, Ralph Waite, and Michael Learned, kept you also prepared for life. Not only as actors but also after the show in your own real lives. What a gift for us all in America. Truly one heck of a "genius show", that I feel only comes around once in a lifetime. Bless you all, we need that so much now, in the world we live in today. If I was a parent today, I would make note of my children to watch it also. All those shows gives you life lessons. It gave us as children a gift of hard to find common life lessons, once a week. The show is truly a timeless gift to us all................. It also gave me a few blocks in my own foundation in life. I'm forever grateful to this show, the excellent actors, the directors, and all that put that show out behind the scenes each week. It was magical to us all. What happened to shows like this? I myself think it stands "alone" in that time period too. So unique, it remains a part of me, and I'm sure many more feel the same way.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. It means to much to us all to hear how positively the show has impacted the lives of our viewers. Thank you for being “part of the family”.

Judy. I hope David talks about his leaving Hollywood in next or future episodes. Such a coincidence that you have him as a guest today, because last week I looked up his bio not much after the Waltons.
We actually didn’t dig too much into life after acting… maybe a return visit sometime.
It's certainly synchronicity that MeTV is playing the episode where GW sadly passes on. Watching through the episode, I am sad for the news and the acting in the episode is top notch, Emotion was really brought out here. Thanks for that.
We were sad to lose David as GW.
I love it when you have actors from the series on. G.W. was such a sweet guy. Good to see him again.
Thanks for joining us.
I smiled from start to finish with this interview. "GW" was great. Thanks for bringing him in, Judy!
So happy to hear that.
Ellen Corby was also in a movie I Remember Momma
Yes - so many wonderful roles over her long career.
@@judynorton2598 she was on one episode of The Andy Griffith show. Loved her character on this.
Great to see David Doremus on for a two part video and i really liked
his character of G.W. but it was sad when his character died off.
i also remembered seeing him on Nanny and the Professor before
his appearances on the Walton's great to seeing this interview with him
and can't wait until the second part. have an awesome Halloween Judy.

Thanks for joining us.
Hi Judy loved hearing David and you can't wait for the next one
Wonderful! Part 2 on Thursday!!
Glad to have this opportunity to share these wonderful people with all of you.
Thank you for helping bring this about. I loved having David as a guest.
Another winner interview! Looking forward to seeing the next part. Mary
Yay! Thanks!
Good day to you Judy . I really enjoy when u get some of the people to return now to see them now and how there memories of the show was to them Great Work Judy keep it up we all enjoy very much
So glad you enjoyed our reunion chat.
Glad you enjoyed Pt 1 of our chat. See you next time!
Judy, thank you so much for this. I do recall a bunch of it but not all, of course. Great having him on. I will check out the next part soon and try to catch up on a few I have missed recently.
Wonderful.
We had such fun together. I loved the Mary Ellen - GW storylines.
I so enjoy your special guests! Thanks for this channel Judy!
Thank you. So happy to hear that. Thanks for watching.
Enjoyed seeing your guest. Looking forward to Part 2.
Thanks for joining us.

Loved you two together on Walton's! Also loved his work on the show! Thank you!! 👍❤️🙂
Thank you.
@@judynorton2598 Never miss your posts! Learning so much & love them all!! Your continuing is greatly appreciated!!! 👍❤️🙂
That’s one of the fun things for my wife and I is to watch the show and to just see how many different people have played on the show 😎
How fun.
What a wonderful segment and Tks! There is so much fake news and trust me.. I saw something a few years ago which said he had passed away?! So when I saw this today I was so happy!
Glad to prove the fake news wrong. :)
I was so much like that in real life :). I liked to dress up pretty, but loved to compete in sports as well.
I attended Toll Junior High and Hoover High with David in the 1970s.
Any time I mentioned to him that I'd seen him on THE WALTONS he would always respond very graciously.
Does he attend reunions, see him?
That’s so cool. Are you still in contact?
@@judynorton2598 No, we had very different social circles.
I am amazed we all made it through childhood in the early 70’s! I rode in the back of a pick-up too!
I know!!! We lived daring lives growing up. But aren’t we all convinced we’re immortal when we’re young?
Great memories, thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure!
GW!!!!! Great to see you, thanks for the interview.
Our pleasure!
Thank you Judy, I appreciate this and all your videos. I cried when they killed off GW😥
He was part of the Walton’s family and needed to stay. But I didn’t send any hate mail.
I don’t think anyone had any idea how upset the viewers would be about GW’s death. It was heartbreaking for all of us.
Just saw the episode "The Volunteer " that showcased David's character GW.....very sweet episode....he was an important co star on the show....wonderful actor ❤
I loved that they peppered his character in over the seasons. Always great to have him back.
Hugs to ya.
Thank you. So glad you got to meet him in Waco.
David Doremus is a delightful person. Looking forward to part II.
Thank you. Part 2 coming Thursday :)
Yeah, one my favorite character.
Wonderful.
David is so great, he has good memories.
It was so fun to hear his stories.
This was a great interview!
So happy to hear that.
This was fun to see how David is doing. GW was such a sweet character.
Thanks for joining us for these chats.
So good to watch this Judy Thank you ❤❤❤
Our pleasure. Thanks for watching.
So glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for joining us.
Amazing you were in all but one show in the nine seasons.
Yes. All the “children” were. I think David Harper also missed one episode, but otherwise all 6 of us were in all episodes.
"Are you gonna take me in your arms or am I gonna wham you?" Mary Ellen.
Haha ...ha...😂
That was one of my favorite lines from Mary Ellen!
Not very subtle, right? haha
Thankyou for sharing.
❤❤❤
Thank you both
Our pleasure.
Awesome interview 👏
Thank you!
Yay! What a great interview!?❤
Happy to hear that. Thanks for watching.
We always loved when we saw GW was going to be back.
I’ve always been a big fan of the Cisco Kid western series and watch the reruns. I enjoy looking up the actors who played in it. When I look up their biographies and see the lists of what they acted in rarely do they include the Cisco Kid as one of the shows they were in.
i am startled I never made the connection he was Hal Everett , and GW on the waltons!!! how did i miss that all these years
Glad you were able to make the connection :)
I nearly cried when GW died on the show… That one was that really hit my emotions. I couldn’t believe neither your character Mary Ellen nor Erin ended up with GW David.
A testament to how he created such a loveable character that losing him was such a blow.

Thank you.
The moment I saw your thumbnail I knew--GW! This was fun and David looks and sounds great, I can't wait for Part 2. Judy, I love how you include brief clips during your conversation, I totally forgot he was on Nanny and the Professor. Thank you. 😊
So glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for watching.
Yes, the older sister/younger sister thing happened elsewhere too. For example, first you liked Marcia Brady, then a few seasons later, you preferred Jan.
lol - I understand.
@@judynorton2598 And I actually preferred Mrs. Partridge to the lovely Laurie ...
Thank-you Judy
Walton show
👍 ❤😊😊😊😊🎉
You were reading my mind was just gonna suggest him❤ Thank you
Yay! Great timing!
@@judynorton2598 🥰
Thanks so much for this, Ms. Norton. This was one of the guests I've been waiting for and so happy that you and Mr. Doremus were able to get together.
Thanks for joining us for Part 1! Part 2 coming on Thursday
