I’m just watching this 50th reunion, one year later. I was 18 when the show first aired on television, and I’ve watched every episode. Over the years, the show has been on TV from beginning to end, over and over. I Still watch. I’m 70 years old now, and watching The Walton’s, somehow, comforts me and takes me away from today’s world. Thank you!❤️
I feel like "the Walton's" should be considered not just a fine example of what Hollywood can do for television, but also an historical landmark of what kind of families the greatest generation soldiers came from.
@@rossbrowning5201 U R right! The Walton's in the 1970's were definitely the exception. It was a show that portrayed what was best about family, friends, the Depression, and basically history. And brought families together at the end of the day in order to watch it. And sometimes talk about it during the commercials.
I am 59 now and also had older parents who lived through the Great Depression. What stories my dad would tell. I, now, share those stories with my great nieces and nephews. Bless all those who took the love and the memories of “The Walton’s”
I watch The Waltons every day and it makes me feel so good. Its an escape from the crazy world we live in and takes you back to a world that was so different.
This show changed my life.i quit alot of bad habits 13 yrs ago and I decided to watch the entire series right after my decision to get sober and it helped me recover. Praise God.
I’m 45 , as a kid I remember the Walton theme song vividly, as an adult , with all of the negative crap in the world these days, it’s nice to tune it out for an hour watching a tv program that promotes the good stuff in life ie… family , love , values , morals , comedy and always inspiring hope and trying to see the good in people. Thank you Eric, Richard, Michael , Judy, Kami & the rest of the Waltons cast.
@@lindao1327 five years younger than you; and I agree the original Walton's were very good. Then hearing the off camera voice of their creator will always be the cue to that anyone watching is about to "travel back in time" through the latest memory of the Narrator.
I'm now 61 and watched the Waltons with my parents each week when it aired in the 1970s. My parents were older when I was born--my mother almost 41 and my father 46. They lived through the Great Depression in rural N.C. and were transfixed by each episode. I liked this show too, and I appreciate the memories I have of watching it with them. This show and others like it helped instill in young people a moral sensibility and a strength of character. This show and its characters were not only entertaining and inspirational, but they were instructional, as were many other family series of this ilk (Little House on the Prairie, Good Times, The Cosby Show, Gunsmoke). Thanks for posting this video and bringing together the cast for a reunion.
52 here, my dad was 51 when I was born, and my mom 44 years of age, my parents lived through the great depression, my dad was a WW2 combat veteran - north African campaign . I still watch this show on METV every day, it reminds me of my parents and how much I wish I could have lived then.... even as hard as it was back then, I'd take that over these days if I could. I have my own and now grown children . I raised them on shows such as this one. always nice to hear of another 'change of life' kid such as myself. I adored them and just about everyone of the ' greatest generation' they were wonderful people. I'm glad that shows such as this are still on television these days if some of the kids nowadays would watch them and hopefully try to emulate life from back then. BTW when I turned 51 I thought of my dad often and wondered how he was able to manage having a baby in the house ( my mom too) but they took it in stride - just like they had done all of their lives. God Bless You!
My mom was 41 and my Dad was 46! I am the baby of 6 and I watched the Walton's with my parents each week. They would tell us stories of the great depression!
My mama was born in a log cabin in the Virginia mountains in 1921. She was 45 when I was born. I'm the same age as Elizabeth was on the show. I've always felt a connection to The Waltons
This is great. As an African American girl growing up in Ga. I loved watching this show I remember liking how they interact as a family. Binged watched the series over the pandemic and it was even better because it reminded me of simpler times in life. Grandpa was so funny..sad he died too soon. Michael Learn is still pretty.
I love your comment. I, too, loved this show. I would watch it after school and I would be frozen in front of the tv with the broom in my hands watching the Waltons. I wanted to be a writer like John Boy.
I'm 51 and this is still the best show on tv today, we need more shows like this on tv again. I'm from Virginia also, we live about 45 mins to an hour from Walton's Mountains. Once again, an amazing show..
Earl Hamner, Jr. imbued love into each of the characters and the family as a whole. That and the fantastic cast are the reasons I believe the show will last forever.
Our family watched them every week. My grandparents, parents, my sister, and me. I miss the show, but I own the DVDs. God bless all of them for the joy they have given us, and continue to give us through the DVDs.
The Waltons was one of the greatest shows on TV because it didn't feel like a show. It felt like we opened up our home with our families, and the Walton family came in to visit. God Bless you all for this American treasure! 💖💗💓
This is still my favorite show even if it’s been 50 years. The world could use more shows like the Waltons, because they had a genuine love for each other.
They refuse to make these shows without infusing bratty kids, rude remarks, drug/alcohol issues, trans issues, etc. It's tiresome to have no escape on TV. Thank God for reruns.
This is my favourite show of all time. As a teenager growing up in Scotland, I watched it every Monday night at 8.10 pm. The cast are amazing and they are like a real family to this day.Absolutely love the Walton's! ❤️
The Waltons are in my top 5 TV series of all-time. Especially, the Christmas classic, that we see once a year in December. Bravo to all the cast, past and present.
I'm 57 and I've been watching The Waltons for as long as I can remember. I've seen every episode multiple times and it never gets old. I still watch every day. I've always wondered what happened to the stained glass window from the Whitley house. Grandpa had it put in his and grandma's bedroom S4, E22. After that it was back to the same window as before
My favorite show ever!!! It was like my own family, well my Dad's family, only there were 10 kids in his family and only 4 rooms in the entire house!! But the mountains of Virginia are imbedded in our very souls, natives of the land since late 1600s. It was an all day drive back then to visit my grandparents from northern Virginia to the southwestern tip, so watching The Waltons each week made me feel like we had had a visit with them (I knew they were watching as well). Thank you for precious memories, and even a young girl crush on John Boy!! LOL!!
Have just found it on Prime and have been binging the show. Life seems so complicated now, it is wonderful to slow down and watch about what really matters.

I am 60 years old and grew up watching the Waltons...I own every episode and movie on CD and will never stop watching this programme...It still airs Monday to Friday and I watch whenever I can...Michael is still as beautiful as ever and I thank God I had the Waltons in my life...I still love to watch the very 1st Christmas movie where Patricia Neal played Olivia...Grandpa was my favourite character as a kid as I had a Grandpa somewhat like him right down to the overalls.
In 2014 I bought the series on DVD as a Christmas gift to me. I've been watching it a lot since then and am currently on season 4. It helps me deal with all the negativity in the world right now. Love this show the best of all.
I love The Waltons, and still watch it everyday! It brings back such wonderful memories. Being a Virginian myself, always had me even more excited to watch, as a child.
That scene Michael talked about, with Ralph and the little boy going to Verde’s house - to me, that’s one of the most emotional episodes of the Waltons, all because of Ralph. It felt SO real.
I'm so glad I can watch this show on demand. The Walton's is my favorite show of all time. I've actually dreamed I was in the show before. 😅 My life back in the mid 1970s in rural Indiana watching the Walton's.
This was awesome to see. It was great to see some of the cast members there. Everyone looks so great. Judy Norton does Behind the scenes of the Walton's weekly. She just released a RUclips video sharing her experience from the 50th reunion. It was great she showed some pics she took at the museum with all the Walton artifacts. It brings back the memories. Thank you for posting this video. It was like being there without being there.
I watched The show every week as a kid, and now I watch the reruns everyday as a 54yr old adult!! I also firmly believe that this World needs more John Walton and less Kardashians!!
When I hear that theme song, I know I’m going to have a great TV program experience that will warm my spirit, give strength to my soul and will be kind to my flesh. 100% quality. They can all be proud of the work they did and left a legacy never to be matched.
It's funny- when the Waltons were on in real time, I never watched the show. If I was flipping the channel and heard that theme song- I'd keep flipping. The show looked like it would be corny to me. Then, one day, when the show was in syndication, I watched an episode- and became hooked. I mean hooked. Especially the early years. The family dynamic was irrepressible and the stories were interesting. Now, whenever I hear the theme song, I get the same feeling that you do.
It's So Hard To Believe It's Been 50 Year's I Was 5 Year's Old Then But Like I've Always Said And It's The Thuth The Walton's Was And Is One Of The All Time Best Show's That Has Ever Been On Television So Great Too See All Of Them Together Well Almost All Of Them May God Bless You All 🙏👋
When I get homesick to go home I watched the Walton. Takes me back home with my parents 50 years ago. I miss these days watching the Walton's every Thursday night at 8:00pm.
I watch the Walton reruns every weekday afternoon and never tire of them. The scenery, voices, relationships- all take me back to a more simple, gentle, innocent and compassionate era.
I watched it in the UK - one of my favourite programmes. They were all so nice then and they are now. Made the world a better place. The family we all wish we had really and perhaps no one ever has but still a nice aspiration to seek to achieve. I am now almost 61.
50 years! Unbelievable! I treasure this show...oh if we only had this quality of viewing now....I have watched he'd the dvds so many times....these people are the real deal....so thankful for their contribution
I'm 61...and was raised by family from the greatest generation (my parents) and older. Family from West Virginia. A much simpler time: a moral compass, deep faith in God and family was the center of everything. Family was your whole world. And you worked HARD. My daddy used to say "never let the sun 🌞 catch you in bed" The Waltons brings tremendous warmth and comfort to millions of people...still...50 years later. I watched it as a child... Then with my children... Now I watch The Waltons with my grandchildren... Astounding how a TV show can resonate through so many generations. Love never fails...❤💗
I watch the Walton's everyday, Still. It gives me a feeling of value, home, laughter and just living amd struggling for the American Dream. I love the entire cast!!! Each of you should be so very Proud to have been offered the honor of working on the set.
These cast members are so gracious and kind. I love watching the youtube videos by Judy and following Kami, Mary and Eric who share their own lives and families with us so generously. I am a forever fan. By the way, I sure hope the Hamner house continues to be open to the public.
This is absolutely the very best holiday gift I could have received this year! My favorite TV show of all times. I was 9 years old when The Waltons started and I never missed an episode. They were very much like my own family, the family I wanted but didn't have. I Thank them from the bottom of my heart. Happy Holidays Everyone!
I grew up in my teens watching the Waltons here in the UK. It was just amazing pleasing no rubbish but how to be good in life feeling, I can't put into words but I need to start watching from the start again.
My family were much like the Walton's with the same ethos. When I here that music the hairs on my neck stand up. In a good way. The show taught us much about family and how we should treat each other kindly. The scenery was stunning and again we learnt a great deal about nature. I thank all the cast and crew for giving us such great memories and including us in their lives. God bless you all and keep you well.
The Walton's began airing the year I graduated high school. I remember loving the show then and still watch the reruns now, at 68. If only families and communities had the strong, loving bonds that the show portrayed. It must have been good for the cast members too. You can still feel the love between them when they are together like this years later.
How enjoyable to watch! I'm 52 - my family watched every week. I has a card board Walton's house...a little old car...& maybe a doll or two. Mostly, I remember crying BIG tears when the house burned down!
I'm just discovering the Walton's now, because I was a baby when they were on primetime TV. I originally just wanted to check out the show, never expecting to actually enjoy it, but what a great show! I'm binge-watching the entire series. It's so cool that they are such good friends in real life all these years later! I love it! 🥰
ABSOLUTLEY LOVED THIS and Michael, Richard and crew hilarious!! Thank you for sharing this memorable event for those like myself could not travel across country to enjoy it. My a family binged watched The Waltons marathon on Hallmark Drama channel. Hopefully we can be there for the next one and the other family cast members will be able to attend. Happy 50th Anniversary and your ALL SO LOVELEY
One of my all time ever favorite shows. Richard Thomas is still one of my favorite actors too. I've seen all their shows over and over but I still keep watching.
That was Great. Even the ones that were there in Spirit. I so happy to see this interview and seeing everyone is doing well. I get really emotional seeing everyone together and the show because I thought it would be so nice to live during that time even as hard as it was during that time. I get so involved in the story of The Waltons You just can't help it. Thank again for sharing the 50th Anniversary. And tell everyone please how much I have enjoyed The Waltons through out the years. You made me happy, God Bless Each and Everyone One of You. Love Patricia Ann Griggs
I love this so much. ❤ My grandchildren are accomplished on the violin and are fiddlers. They have learned by ear the theme song to “The Waltons” and play it for me often. We live on the same property with them. Often 7 year old Trevor walks over in the afternoon. He know it’s a good chance we will be watching The Walton’s. He’s learned all kinds of new words, heathen, sermon, and many things about the depression. Thank you all a million times over.
Everyone moves on, but The Waltons are always a pleasure to hear about, remember and yes, revisit. Mary Ellen was my favorite character, and I related to her so well as the eldest daughter of a large family but each one held a special place in our home. Thanks to them all for their great performances.
I LOVED the Waltons!! Ben & the grandpa were my favorites but it was one of the best parts of my childhood and really loved it at the end when they would say goodnight ❤❤
If I was on the verge of tears or crying when my kids came home from school they would say " You've been watching the Waltons haven't you " lol Every episode made me feel like I was on an emotional rollercoaster.
I laughed and cried with these people the entire time they were on air and in reruns as well. They don't make TV shows like this anymore and they should. My favorite movie at Christmas is The Homecoming.
I have been hooked on this show. I had a health scare and it happened to be during the marathon on Hallmark. Now I’m just going back and watching the ones I missed while sleeping. I love this show so much.
God bless all of those people that were involved in the Waltons TV series especially the actors that played them what a wonderful TV series and a good part is they all truly love each other as a family God bless you all👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 and still play in The Waltons to this day in many places
This took place on my 54th birthday. I have 6 wonderful kids and 3 grandchildren. We’re often called “the Waltons “ because of how our family operates. We’re far from perfect! But I was deeply influenced by this show and the values based from Earl’s real life. Funny note: my partners name is John and he’s a journalist. We jokingly call him John-Boy. You can tell how close of a relationship Michael and Ralph had just hearing her telling the story.
@@robroyall4077 Yes, thank you. Surprised no one corrected that.
this is great
i think it's sad that cbs chose not to mark the 50th anniversary of one of the most important tv shows ever made
Good point. The CW is trying to revive it.
WOW!! How could they miss that?? The times we live in...☹️
@@rosaenriquez7155 CBS is progressive politically now and no way do they have the sense to recognize the American treasure the show is ❤️
CBS to worried about ghost and Young Sheldon and Nci
Apparently the Waltons was not "woke" enough by today's standards. How dare they promote Christian, and traditional family values!
Congratulations on your 50th anniversary celebration of the Waltons ❤ watched as a kid
with family, still watching 🥹
Sending love 😘
I'm so glad I can watch this show on demand. The Walton's is my favorite show of all time. I've actually dreamed I was in the show before. 😅 My life back in the mid 1970s in rural Indiana watching the Walton's.
I watched it and loved it. We need more shows like this for the family 🙂
Happy 50th Anniversary The Waltons 🎂🎊🥳💖💖💖🎶💖⭐️⭐️my favorite one fan Big 💖
I truly love this 50th anniversary interview. ❤️
You can say that again!
Amen to that!
I loved the reunion of the Waltons. One of the best shows in my lifetime.
A real gem! They all look great, vibrant, focused-incredibly the same!
Thanks for sharing your memories of the show. I love watching it when I can.
I watched it in the UK - one of my favourite programmes. They were all so nice then and they are now. Made the world a better place. The family we all wish we had really and perhaps no one ever has but still a nice aspiration to seek to achieve. I am now almost 61.
Love hearing these stories! Still watch every weekday!
LOVED this show growing up. Michael Learned looks AMAZING! So happy to see the cast doing well.
My favorite family show. It draws me in…I really feel a part of them, when I am watching them💕
50 years! Unbelievable! I treasure this show...oh if we only had this quality of viewing now....I have watched he'd the dvds so many times....these people are the real deal....so thankful for their contribution
Didn’t know it was on DVD.
I watched the Waltons all day yesterday. Love it
This is great! Congratulations to all of you wonderful actors that made us feel like we were part of your family.
I'm 61...and was raised by family from the greatest generation (my parents) and older.
Family from West Virginia.
A much simpler time: a moral compass, deep faith in God and family was the center of everything. Family was your whole world.
And you worked HARD.
My daddy used to say "never let the sun 🌞 catch you in bed"
The Waltons brings tremendous warmth and comfort to millions of people...still...50 years later.
Such a wonderful family show to watch with fantastic actors so realistic and genuine
These cast members are so gracious and kind. I love watching the youtube videos by Judy and following Kami, Mary and Eric who share their own lives and families with us so generously. I am a forever fan. By the way, I sure hope the Hamner house continues to be open to the public.
I loved watching the Walton's, it taught me what a loving family looks like. So well written also.
I still watch episodes of The Waltons every day. I recently saw Richard Thomas in To Kill a Mockingbird in Cleveland. Bucket list moment for me ❤
My family were much like the Walton's with the same ethos.
I love it! 🥰
I’ll be 64 very soon I still watch Walton’s daily. I will always watch this series. It was the best ever made in my world.
Love

The Waltons I loved it then and now. I listen to Judy interview behind the scenes. Love it and Merry Christmas.
They represent families and there’s so many lessons that can be learned from watching this show, we need more shows for families 💚🙏
I love the Waltons. It was a part of my childhood growing up. Thanks for the memories.
Everyone moves on, but The Waltons are always a pleasure to hear about, remember and yes, revisit. Mary Ellen was my favorite character, and I related to her so well as the eldest daughter of a large family but each one held a special place in our home. Thanks to them all for their great performances.
I loved this show as a child and I still love and watch it today
I love all the cast of The Walton's. They were a gift from God...
I LOVED the Waltons!! Ben & the grandpa were my favorites but it was one of the best parts of my childhood and really loved it at the end when they would say goodnight ❤❤
One of my favorite shows of all time. I had a huge crush on "John Boy". Just hearing the music brings so much nostalgia 💜💜
I love this show! I watched it when it first aired and Im still watching it now .... ❤️
Such a great show! Still watching it weekly.
Richard Thomas was amazing in “To Kill a Mockingbird on stage.
Agreed. And a very nice down-to-earth guy.
Love this! I grew up on the Waltons + it was one of my favorite shows!
I watched this every week and little house on the prairie, fond memory’s you don’t get great shows like those nowadays
Peace and Love everyone ❤
I love your story! How awsome!
