    I see people keep saying they have to take two local buses in Manhattan to get to work. But my question is, why are you taking buses in the city to begin with? Trains are faster, just transfer to one that gets closest to your job and walk.

    • @sonicboy678
      @sonicboy678 6 лет назад

      The one really complaining is already going to Midtown, so it just becomes an issue of walking.

      In that case, you're better off sticking with the express bus. The accessibility improvements won't be available for some time, and even when they do, your Manhattan options are extremely limited.

      The way you keep going with that indicates a "need" to be catered to, rather than the understanding that resources are limited, requiring sacrifices to be made, especially with the consolidation of services to better suit people and reduce potential confusion about what goes where. Granted, it doesn't work for everything, but this is about a network that is most frequent during peak periods and sports a ridiculous number of variants that sometimes make no sense (Hylan Boulevard alone has *8* variants during peak periods, with the primary route inexplicably being cut back to 23rd Street instead of somewhere by the Financial District).
      I'll also give you a piece of advice. Whatever you do, *don't* bluff on full tilt, or you'll make yourself look foolish. Better yet, learn to control that temper, or you'll make yourself look foolish.

    I really don't know who is benefiting from this change...I would be taking the SIM 2...they got rid of so many bus stops. Now the bus starts on HYLAN and CRAIG...Seriously..by the time it get to Rossville there would be no seats. My bus stop was eliminated..I would have to WALK to another bus stop...after I would be lucky enough to find a parking spot on Arthur Kill Road. Then they took the Park Place stop away also..now I would have to WALK 1 Avenue and 2 blocks to get to my office. I guess I wouldn't mind so much if I were younger and not walking with a cane. So if I have to do all this walking anyway..I might as well drive to the SIR..FERRY and then 3 stops on the train...at least it will leave me off right across the street from my office. and I won't feel like I been ripped off..paying them $6.50 for an inconvenience they have now cost me and a lot of people. I read somewhere where they are making it harder for people..because they want everyone to take train and ferry...well they convinced me.

      sonicboy678 right now you have the x9 that does the west side and 6th ave. Then you have the x2 that does Madison Ave. both the x9 & x2 start in new dorp, both has 4.7 miles on the island with 21 stops.
      The x9 is getting completely cut. No more west side ave bus. The x2 is given a new name SIM10 and is being extended by 5.6 more miles. Making a new total of 9.2 miles. This new extended version, SIM10 will no longer do Madison Ave, it will be going up 6th ave.
      So now 2 bus got combined into 1 and the length of the route doubled, and more stops got added.
      Your mind is so small that I don’t expect you to grasp just how bad that commute will be. But what I do is expect is for you to stop trolling me. If it doesn’t concern you and you have little knowledge you should be quite.
      You’re thinking that I’m upset because a bus route just added three stops, lol nah that’s silly, shhhhhh

    • @sonicboy678

      I saw the barrage of comments you left. They make you look like an angry, lazy bum.
      The fact that you dedicated one to the number of stops and put the route lengths in a separate one fails to help your case. The same goes your complaint of not having a bus on Hylan Boulevard east of Midland Avenue to Madison Avenue stops, especially given that Madison Avenue is far from distant when placed in relation to the SIM10's route.
      And let's be honest here. The purpose of this redesign is to provide more consistent service.
