Yes, but you forget to mention that Staten Island has NYC highest incidence of lyme disease due to its large and many parks. If you're gonna go make sure to check yourself for ticks.

I really enjoy all these videos you put up about exploring NY. Great job! I live on Staten Island myself. Some commenters have mentioned them, but there are a few places that are worth seeing: 1. Lighthouse Museum tours - I'm sure you know, but the lighthouse museum also offers boat tours where you can view the harbor and see different lighthouses in the NY area. I've been on a few myself and they are really fun. A highlight for photographers. 2. Staten Island Ferry - we all know this, of course, but I wanted to point out a notable mention you can see from the ferry upon approach to the island: Robbin's Reef lighthouse. The Maritime Museum in Snug Harbor owns it (on the same side as the Statue of Liberty, which is also an official lighthouse)! 3. Fort Wadsworth - Just underneath the Verrazano Bridge, Fort Wadsworth offers an amazing view of the harbor. You can go early in the morning with a cup of coffee and just view the harbor. This I would put as a HIGH recommend to visit. Side note: on top of Battery Weed fort is a white lantern, this is actually a small lighthouse known as Fort Wadsworth Lighthouse :). 4. Alice Austin House - I would recommend visiting when its open, but you can walk the land around it, which has a nice view of the harbor. 5. Bayonne Bridge - This bridge was recently renovated and now has a pedestrian walkway! The view from the bridge is AWESOME, you have an excellent view of the city skyline, as well as Staten Island and New Jersey. If you walk across and back completely, that's about a 4 mile walk. I highly recommend this as well for an outdoor activity. 6. Staten Island Range (I think you can tell at this point that I like lighthouses, haha). This would be more of a quick stop. You can't go inside the lighthouse since it's active, but you can walk around the base and take pictures. It's a beautiful, rustic looking lighthouse. 7. Staten Island Mall - this mall has received a MASSIVE renovation. It's so nice now! You can spend hours in there. It even has a Dave & Busters, new food court, and a mix of stores. Just a few of my favorites on here. Some notable mentions are the Conference House (which is deep in Staten Island), Historic Richmond Town, and Clove Lakes Park. In all, I would say Staten Island is the best place to go for outdoor activities and history buffs, but even the above recommendations can cater to all. Cheers!
Sandygroud Museum on the south shore would have been nice on the list. The Sandy Ground Historical Museum, located within the Sandy Ground community of Rossville in the borough of Staten Island, is dedicated to the oldest continuously inhabited free black settlement in the United States.
Gonna check out Empire Outlets. You're right, still under the radar. Besides doing the "Staten Island shuffle" on the ferry I've really only visited friends or family in Park Hill & that was in the past.
Just came across this vlog on RUclips. My husband and I had the opportunity to visit Staten Island a few weeks ago. We "accidentally" came across the Empire Outlets while looking for a place to sit and eat. This is a fantastic location to relax and take in the beautiful view of lower Manhattan. However, the one disappointment was the lack of proper signage at the St George's Ferry terminal providing tourist with information on the outlet mall. Staten Island has so much to offer but it really seems to be the forgotten borough of NYC.
Thank you for this video! I'm going to NYC in a couple weeks (so excited!!) and am planning on taking the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. This video is so helpful to know what I should do over in Staten Island... thanks again, I love your videos and thank you for all the time & effort you put into them!

I've vlogged every inch of this island if you want to check out some of my videos (i recommend looking thru my playlists) if you wanna get some ideas about some places to check out. I can also tell you most of the best spots for foodies. The only downside about Staten Island is you really need a car to get around, and the traffic is horrendous but other than that we have some great areas to explore. Especially the parks if you want great places to hike in NYC while feeling like you're upstate.
Nicely done... also, Alice Austin House, Tibetan Museum, Blue Heron Park, Greenbelt... take care from Staten Island.... so many unique places out on the Island too, South Shore. Beaches in the summer as well.
One place not too well known is Staten Island Borough Hall, situated right across from the ferry terminal. There are huge murals (floor to ceiling) that tell the story on Staten Island. It is free to get into.
Great video, One thing i can recommend is catching a baseball game at the Staten Island Yankees. You get amazing views of the skyline while sat in your seat! and it has a great feeling of the minor leagues, I enjoyed my visit here more than my Mets visit for sure.
