What is the difference between the Gen 5 and Gen 6 cup chassis? I know the bodies are obviously significantly different with the Gen 6 looking more like the oem vehicles but have always been curious of the chassis themselves.
Chassis on the Gen5 / Gen6 Cup car and the 110" Nationwide / Xfinity car are the same. There are a few different bar updates along with firewall and floor pan updates.
Something I've always been curious about. Newman always ran an aluminum seat as opposed to the carbon seats. When he got into his accident at Daytona, it appeared his helmet/seat was impacted. Do you think the carbon seat would have splintered and potentially caused more damage to Newman? I know the seats are tested but are they tested for impacts of that nature? As an engineer myself, I know we can't design to everything
Done, man that’s pretty cool. Been following the Facebook for a bit, never realized you had a RUclips I’ve always wondered, when it comes to certain components on the cars, when you rebuild them back up, is there a certain part/piece/panel that is the most difficult to find or replicate?
didn't know this channel existed, excited to see what is posted in the future. is it possible for someone to privately build a car and attempt to qualify for a race in the modern era of NASCAR? I know the chassis and a large portion of components are all supplier-based parts but how feasible is it for someone to enter who doesn't have a large established team?
What’s a good way to get your foot in the door with becoming a fabricator or a technician? I’m almost done welding school and I’m willing to risk it all just to get the opportunity?
Great job on the channel! Love seeing the progress you are making. Tech question, are you planning on running a rear sway bar? I haven’t seen many cup/xfinity cars with them and have wondered about their effectiveness. Thanks!
Great question ! I have run one in the past but no plans for one on the Supra. Personally I feel it loads the rear suspension and causes the car to tighten up as fuel burns off.
Oh I’m gonna love this channel! I’d love a dash top! It’ll go with my singular valve cover. 24 obviously. Oh and a serious question. How did you get to test drive these 7th Gen cars? What’s your role within the industry?
Love the channel. What all goes into rebuilding a stock car for a track day? How intensive is it, and would it be a similar build to an actual race-ready car?
i would like to see what a track bar adjustment does under the car
Great idea for a future video!
Do a video on how to put the car on jack stands on both sides.
Coming soon !
What rotors do vintage Stock Car Products Cup car spindles and rear floater hubs take?
It depends on the age of the spindles, hubs and housing.
Did my question about what degree do you set the trailing arms at?
Depends on the weight of the car and where the roll center is located. Optimally 3° is what I try to maintain for pinion angle.
You guys have a lot of awesome stuff! Hopefully one day I can visit soon.
Maybe one day!
What is your track day start up procedure, between session routine, and post track day maintenance?
Great question answered in the video!
sounds like a great contest, you have geat videos .
Glad you enjoy them, thanks for supporting the channel!
How do you determine when to scrap a chassis, or when to repair or restore it? How much "bent" is too "bent"?
Great question! For me history is a big part of it along with cost to repair versus overall resale value.
With the Gen 3 cup car and the Gen 4 cup cars. How much of a difference is the chassis.
A lot actually. More than I can go into in a simple reply.
Any tips when getting into a vintage NASCAR for track day purposes? Is there a generation of cars where parts are more easily available?
The newer the car is the easier it is to find parts. Find what fits your budget to get you started.
Where do you get most of your parts for the NASCAR cars?
Primarily directly from teams, auctions, and a few used parts houses.
What does a current Cup car cost to build compared to the last generation?
The new car cost close to $100k more in total cost to build from the ground up with new parts.
Do you number all parts that go in a race car
Everything on the Gen7 cars have a serial number now. on the older cars a lot of it was team preference.
Love the videos so far!
Glad you like them!
Great videos!!! Love the content
Appreciate it! Glad you enjoy the content !
Is a truck chassis the same as a xfinity chassis?
No, different wheelbase, height and length.
I’m surprised how many plates you have, how were you able to get all of them
Great question, I actually purchased all of these from a team auction.
Component wise, what made Gen5 and Gen6 cars "top notch equipment" (like a Hendrick or Penske) vs a back marker car?
Engineering, age of parts, ability to set car up, pull down and wind tunnel time.
How much do you think the markup will be for NextGen stock cars compared to other generations of car for the Vintage Racing Market?
I believe it has been pushed out of the realm of possibility for the average guy to buy and attempt to vintage race.
What generation of car had the best safety features and what was different about those features that we don't see today or we see in some other form?
Gen5 / Gen6 chassis were and are by far the safest with their ability to dissipate energy in a crash.
What is the difference between the Gen 5 and Gen 6 cup chassis? I know the bodies are obviously significantly different with the Gen 6 looking more like the oem vehicles but have always been curious of the chassis themselves.

With as many stock cars as you deal with, what has been the most troublesome part of getting one of them track ready?
Some team specific parts for the brake pedal mounts and suspension are becoming harder to find.

Honestly, it was such a unique crash there's really no was to hypothesize what could really have happened without beta crash testing it.
What is your favorite stock car exhaust configuration?
Having driven a few, I actually like the dual rocker design of the Gen7 car a lot.
Done, man that’s pretty cool. Been following the Facebook for a bit, never realized you had a RUclips
I’ve always wondered, when it comes to certain components on the cars, when you rebuild them back up, is there a certain part/piece/panel that is the most difficult to find or replicate?
A lot of the Gen5 / Gen6 chassis used team specific parts that can be difficult to find because a lot of it doesn't cross over from team to team.

I know the chassis and a large portion of components are all supplier-based parts but how feasible is it for someone to enter who doesn't have a large established team?
Honestly, it's possible but not really cost effective in the era of NASCAR.
Is there anything you think they did wrong with Gen 7 cars? What should be improved on in the next generation?
I think it was rushed, needed more development time in certain areas and design improvements as far as driver comfort and heat goes.
I know the body of the new cup cars are carbon but have they added more carbon parts to the interiors also? 🔥 I would love one of those 48s
The rear package tray are is a carbon / kevlar composite now compared to the steel in Gen5 / Gen6 cars.
This is the content I've been looking for!
Glad you enjoy it! More to come !

What/when started your interest in NASCAR and got you to where you are today?
My father and Hialeah Speedway got me started, hard work and persistence got me where I am today.
Great job on the channel! Love seeing the progress you are making. Tech question, are you planning on running a rear sway bar? I haven’t seen many cup/xfinity cars with them and have wondered about their effectiveness. Thanks!

what is the hardest part about refurbishing a old cup car? and is it easy to find parts. love your channel.
Great question, I would say finding certain team specific pieces is the hard part.
Digging this channel. Enjoy all your fb and ig post...now it's coming alive with the videos..keep it up.
Glad you're enjoying it ! I greatly appreciate your support!
With all the cars/parts that you buy and sell, do you have any that you would never part with? (Ie rare, sentimental, etc)
I don't think I'll ever part with my KBM truck or Rowdy Xfinity Camry but money talks.
I've been following your Instagram account for a few years now. Didn't even realize you had a RUclips channel.
Glad you found it, hope you enjoy it !
What was your favorite car that you have built so far and which car has been the hardest for you to restore?
Favorite has been the Jolly Rancher Buick of my good friend Will Cronkrite, hardest to find parts for has a Jeff Gordon Hendrick Gen6 Chevrolet SS.
Whats a car that you want but haven't been able to obtain yet?
1970 Porsche 917LM , Warren Johnson Pro Stock Olds Cutlass
Out of all the generations of cars that you’ve worked on, what’s been your favorite?
I haven't had one I didn't like working on but Fords are a little more finicky.
What is the hardest part about owning a retired cup car?
Consistent maintenance and storing them correctly.
I'm totally amazed how organized your shop is, shows a man who takes pride in what he enjoys, and knows what he's doing.
Thanks for noticing! I appreciate the compliment!
Oh I’m gonna love this channel! I’d love a dash top! It’ll go with my singular valve cover. 24 obviously. Oh and a serious question. How did you get to test drive these 7th Gen cars? What’s your role within the industry?
Great question ! I do a lot of work as an independent contractor and consultant.
