    • @PiecesofTaraArtistry
      @PiecesofTaraArtistry  3 месяца назад +1

      Sure SM! The Valspar is too thin on its own…it won’t hold up the cell structure. The Behr Dynasty is too thick on its own so you have to add something in to thin it down and most people use a varnish to do so. I don’t like using varnish because it always makes my cell activator melt my cells and they are not frost one clean looking…if that makes sense. So I found that when I combine the two base paints I don’t need to use varnish at all. Which for me is a win win. Hope that helps! 🙏🏻☺️❤️

    • @PiecesofTaraArtistry
      @PiecesofTaraArtistry  12 дней назад

      lol! Yea I always get the name of that dumb thing confused! 😆 I don’t mix the two because sometimes I don’t want to use the Behr dynasty…especially if it is a tube paint. Each type of paint has a different consistency so I separate them so that I can get the perfect consistency for the type of paint I am using. Does that make sense? 😆

      Hello Yuvonne! Your welcome! Sooo…when you are measuring the pm it is basically 2 grams Valspar to 1 grams of Behr dynasty. If you want to make more you just scale up from there. As you saw in my video I did not weight my pigments or my tube paints. And as I don’t work in grams, I work in oz on my scale that is something you might have to figure out. Tara , I have a question when it comes to TLP or any other brand of Mica powders, as far as them diluting completely in the Valspar kind of makes me wonder or want to put a little bit of Jo sonja just to make sure they're dissolved and diluted. With that said in your video it seems to work just fine with the Valspar. I'm just afraid it won't. And I love the painting I think it turned out gorgeous I love the wispies at the top and the negative space. It's gorgeous. I've had the same ingredients but I've been waiting on fluid Art co for the squeeze bottles and I just got them 2 days ago and I just got them decanted last night so I haven't tried it yet . Thanks for sharing this video I definitely referred back to it because like I said I was waiting on those same squeeze bottles you're using . I’m sorry I am just seeing this question. I wet my pigments with GAC100 before adding them to my pouring medium. That way they are fully wet and ready to integrate. You can also use gac 800 or Liquitex pouring medium to wet them as well. Another trick is the scoop them in a little gloss gel and integrate them with that and then add valspar pm. With the thicker paint you probably don’t need any of the Behr dynasty (that is if you do it the gel way). Hope this all makes sense. ❤️

    • @PiecesofTaraArtistry
      @PiecesofTaraArtistry  Месяц назад

      Hi Kathy! I’m sorry this response has taken so long I am just now seeing it. I get my bottles from fluid-art.co they are the best! So the reason I don’t mix it all together is that some very fluid paints need more of the dynasty than the thicker paints which usually just need the valspar. It is easier to mix for different paint viscosities when they are separated. Hope this helps and isn’t too late! ❤️

      @@bethalvarez6956 Good question Beth! So the Valspar on its own is too thin and the Behr Dynasty on its own is too thick. I do not use varnish in my blooms to thin down the Behr because I end up with wonky cells. Sooo…my solution is to use the Valspar and thicken it up with the Behr. Hope that helps!

      I love the gray paint you used for your background. What a fabulous idea. All I’ve ever seen is black or white stupid question number 6420. I guess you can use any color paint you want you can just tint The pain if you choose, am I correct this opens up a whole new thing for me, I paint pictures. I’ve never done this and I am just so intrigued by it, but I’m afraid to pull the trigger cause I get confused. Too many cooks spoil the Brew, but I heard good things about youand decided you were going to be my go to

      @@bethalvarez6956 So if I were you I would stick to Sherwin Williams Color To Go to start with if you will be tinting it. Usually when you add color to a base paint it thins it down so it will be thinner than just a white. In that case I get my color to go and open it and leave the cap askew to let air in. The air will thicken it up. You should give it a stir every few hours. I would keep it open like that for at least 12 hours…stirring every 3 hours. You can leave it without stirring but it will create a film overtop that you will have to remove completely otherwise little bits will dry in your paint. You may want to master white before you move onto colors bases. That will help you determine if the consistency is right or not. ☺️

    When people say they’re using their black activator, they’re white activator they Amsterdam cell activator. Are they basically saying that that’s the color they added the activator to?

      Cell activator is the mixture of paint with Australian Floetrol (or some have recipes for American Floetrol). The recipe I use for my cell activators is 1 part paint to 3 parts Australian Floetrol. If you look in the description box most people will give you the recipe for their cell activator and other useful information. Check it out! ☺️
