Thanks this helps tremendously. I just wanted to add, I couldn't get it into maintenance mode for the longest time. Not until I figure out that the Electronic Parking brakes needs to be disengaged prior to doing these steps. If it's engaged, you wouldn't be able to access the mode.
Thanks for the heads up. My wife complains that I overdo RUclips. She hasn't seen a mechanic shops pricing since ever 😂😂😂
Thank you. I don't know how others can complicate something like this as much as they do. Again thanks
*Thanks. Simple and straightforward unlike all the other videos that don't work*
This was amazing. It worked like a charm and no more electrical brake malfunctioning light on my dashboard!
Straight and to the point, worked perfectly. Thanks
Thank you🙂
Quality of your vids and the quality of ur content is so much more precise , than most you tubers ...you make look so easy 🤷🏻♂️ and really easy to understand !!! thx 🙏 for sharing
Thank you🙂 i really appreciate it
Thank you my dude, your video saved my hundreds of $$$ had I taken it to the dealership for something simple
Don't have a Mazda but very informative. Thanks.
Thank you🙂
Huge help saved me 400 bucks that they wanted at a shop bc i was worried about the electronic brake
Did you replace brakes or just do maintenance mode on/off? I have my TCS/Ebrake/SCBS lights appearing so I'm wondering if it's e-brake related.
@0megaFive i replaced the brakes
This video saved my day. I saw another video on how to release the electric brake motor and it didn't work. This video was simple and straightforward. The instructions were spot on, and I completed the break repair. Highly support you!.
I was fine up until 1:19 my CX-3 will not come out of maintenance mode....HELP
Nicely done and perfectly narrated.
Andy ~
Straight forward and to the point. Thanks!
This worked on my 2020 CX5. Thanks
Saved my ass!! Cheers! 💪
Wow! short sweet and to the point. THIS is the way videos should be made. I'm subscribing.
Mine will not come out of maintenance mode, followed the instructions and the brake wound off fine, will not wind back on, brake caution is flashing all the time
Me too. Did u ever find a solution
@R D another video on this has you just pushing the accelerator and then releasing it, I tried this a couple of times and all of a sudden, the brakes wound back on
I just had this same problem. There were codes in the EPB module. Cleared them and first try it went out of maintenance mode.
Thank you , helpful and very fast
Thank you so much
Good vid, helped me out, thanks
Great video 👍
Does this still work on new cx50s?
Thank you for sharing your knowledge I appreciate it ,your video was perfect.
Wonder if this would work on others with e brake like Honda?
Just completed a rear brake job on a CX-5, perfect!
Does this work for 2021 Mazda 3 sedan?
Amazing work’s perfect
Thanks for this video. It’s a huge help to this old DIY’er before I tackle my brakes on my 2021 CX-5.
Might you have a video showing how to enter mechanic’s mode? I would like to adjust the error in my MPG monitor. It’s off by almost 5%, now my Mazzie has 45K miles on her. Thanks a bunch. Jack in Murphy, NC.
Thank you for a clear video on what to do
Just found this vid. My freind did my brakes and didn't put in " maintenance mode " what can be the damages?
Wow I watched two other videos and they could not explain like you did. Very very well done. Thanks and liked
Thank you🙂
Thanks this helps tremendously. It worked like a charm and no more brake maintenance light on my dashboard.
Does the service light need to stay on when you do the first service mode? The light comes on but once I remove my foot off the accelerator and parking brake switch the light goes off which I think it’s not on service mode! Help
Hope this will work on my 2017 mazda 3. Thanks for showing us this straightforward video!
Liked and subbed.
Top tip. If you put your car into gear before starting this process it wont roll away!
Simple, to the point, no gravy around. Thank you.

Need help.
I have a mazda cx5 awd. 2.5ltr. Petrol. Maxx sport 2015 model.
Not sure if its a ke or ke 2 series??
Can you please tell me what is the proper brake size for my car?
Front brake size?
Rear brake size? Cannot find any info on this?
😎👍🍻
Thank you!
Im gonna assume this is needed to be done for both rear and front breaks?
No just rear
Many times reading descriptions eliminate assumptions. Thanks
You save me
0:20 2:03
Great
Thanks 2016 Mazda CX-5
Thank you🙂
I accidentally pushed the parking brake out instead of pushing it in first, how do you reverse it? Pushing the button in does nothing but now only pulling it up moves the motor
This was after doing the brake pad replacement?
@@backyardchevy328 I took the old pads out and realized to get the new brakes in, we had to do the maintenance mode. Accidentally pulled up not pushed down. Decided to get the car towed anyway so now I am not worried about it lol. It started leaking brake fluid and decided to call it.
@@lordstraplife5853 yea that means the pistons popped out..so thats why it couldnt pull em back in
@@backyardchevy328 I did this same thing just now. Any way to get the calibers pushed back in?
@@TheAGWChannel if it popped completely out then it most likely damaged the clip and wont be able to be assembled without replacement...but if its still held on u can try compressing it back together
Hey thanks for the info. Really solid video
why I hate electronic brakes... why not just the good old pull up bar...
My son did his brakes without doin this an now the parking brake is not disengaging is it possible to go through the process to mabey get the parking brake to adjust?
Also its an acura tlx
Me too. Never thought of this. I just replace w/o put the vehicle into maintainance mode now the P light keep blinking every time i pull the brake
A technician change my breaks but without going to the maintenance mode. He had to force it by giving it an electrical load.
Now.. My left rear EPS is not working. I am not sure if he totally damaged it or something else
Probably damaged the parking brake motor, if theyre pushed in without putting into maintenance mode it will damage it
@@backyardchevy328 hi I had my brakes changed almost a year ago and I am not sure if my technician entered maintenance mode. I was told on this past Friday that my rear breaks are wearing. Which I believe is a sign of improper installation of the rear brakes. I had the factory brakes on for almost 63,000 miles. Now I’m worried something else could of possibly been damaged. But this should be corrected and fixed by the original business correct ? I purchased the breaks august 10,2021 and I have until then to claim warranty I believe.
@@michaelferreira5565 well normally not being put into maintenance mode would damage the motors to where it would possibly drag the brakes..but u would of felt that from the start...but maybe they could of used lower quality brake pads or if the rotor surface is uneven it would also cause the brake pads to wear fasyer than normal..but yea the rear brakes under normal conditions should last twice as long as the fronts
@@backyardchevy328 I’m bringing it back to him this week to fix because my miles are all highway. And I had factory brakes last over 60k + so I know it’s not me lol if he doesn’t want to fix it I’m gonna dispute the charge with my bank. At one point though my rear right brake did lock up and didn’t disengage and I didn’t notice because I was only going like 20-25 mph but when I stopped I notice the rotor was fire red. I brought it to him and obviously replicating it the day after never works and he said it was fine. Now several months later I’m dealing with this Sh*t.
@@michaelferreira5565 yea then u definitely have an issue there with ur rears dragging
Thanks to this video I learned how to do it The right way.thankyou very much.
Thank you sir. 🫡
You saved my life bro ty so much giving u a sub
