❤️ I really loved this video, and all the tips, but I have to add: please guys don't get up earlier because you are under the impression early birds are always more productive. I felt under a lot of pressure by all the "getting up early" in the internet, but now I realised, what my natural, biological sleep pattern is - I just feel my best, less anxious, more productive, when I stay up late and sleep in a little longer. Listen to your body, just keep offscreen right before and in bed, I'd rather say. ❤️
Amen on this. If I get up very early, I do get *more* done, BUT I’m not my usual sparkly, positive, bubbly self. I just kind of zombie through the day and block people out. When I stay up later, watch a film with my partner and sleep in a bit I find I’m rested, bubbly, loving and can spread more joy. Which is more important than just work, work, work. 💛💛💛
What she mentioned: 1. Rest (sleep is important, go to bed earlier, read a book, relax…) 2. Listen to your heart ( don’t ignore your gut instinct, listen to your intuition, listen to your gut…) 3. Develop a self care routine 4. Let go of limiting 5. Separate your inner criticism voice from your real voice 6.celebrate yourself (celebrate small things, give yourself a bubble bath, write yourself a card….) 7. Reach out for help (no one should ever feel depressed….. you deserve better, your are worth it) 8. Organise your life (disorganisation life = disorganisation head) 9. Be you (don’t let ppl tear you down….) 10. Be sad if your sad (if you feel sad let it out cry, scream, shouts…. Be sad, it’s a journey, talk to someone about how you fee…) 11. Discover your happy place (it could be at home cuddling with your pet, it could be reading a book at the beach, traveling…) 12. Forgive and let go (forgive yourself, forgive other, don’t hold grudges and move on….) 13. Write down your dream life and go for it (manifestations….. go chase your dream you only live once…, you deserve the life you visualise) 14. Don’t expect perfection (perfect doesn’t exist….) I 100% recommend watching the whole video instead of reading everything that I wrote here (bc it’s pretty much a some up) I find the video really helpful and I hope all of us have fun in our self love journey
@@shaunawerner5986 yeah, I didn't come up with it but whenever I catch myself being nasty I remind myself that it's just the asshole lol. It's kinda fun to talk about it in therapy like that 😂
My therapist taught me to imagine my inner critic as someone sitting on my shoulder. She told me that its original purpose was to protect me actually by making bullying way less worse since it made me blend into a group for example. But I am an adult now and I learned to deal with people who don’t agree with me (at least I try) so i don’t need this inner critic anymore. When it screams at me now I thank it for trying to protect me but I tell it that I don’t need and that I can look after myself. This helped me much more then just yelling back which is what I used to do.
@@MadeleineOlivia Thank you so much for making this video. I‘ve been struggling so much recently with being really negative towards myself and this reminded me that I do have the skills to work through that 🥰
I don’t name my inner critic but I’m getting much better at recognising it! Sometimes I catch a negative thought and I’m like ‘hey, we don’t speak that way about ourselves anymore thank you’ 😂 it’s helped a ton!
Absolutely loved all of these, particularly letting yourself feel sad if you're sad. It's probably only in the last year that I've started to understand it's not wrong to feel "negative" feelings, and being able to remind myself that feels absolutely revolutionary!
Absolutely!! I spent decades pushing away childhood trauma snd pain and just being positive, positive, positive, thriving, climbing the career ladder... then Covid hit and I was left with nothing to do but work through the trauma. Ugh. It’s been roooooooough. But I’m learning to just cry if I need to cry, feel sad if I need to feel sad, experience the pain and then set it free.
Hi Maddie - I am a Health Professional that works in Mental Health and as you can imagine the last 12 months have been hard - THANK YOU for the reminder to take care of me too. ❤️
Thank you for the reminder! After a really hard break up I decided to move out as fast as I could, just because I still love this person so so much, that staying there was impossible. I still miss and think about that person every single day, it might just be a tiny little moment that I normally would like to share. But you know, that's okay. It only shows how much love I am able to carry. Time will pass and this person will only be a happy memory. Yes I am really sad this Person did not care about me, as I did for him/her, but I regret nothing. And that is okay! It is okay to be hurt and it can be your strength!
For some of us it’s realizing that it’s better to be alone than having to share someone with others. Yes, listen “deep down” and ignore insults. Thank you.
How did you get to be so wise at such a young age?? I'm your mom's age and I needed to learn these things years ago and didn't! always taking care of everyone else not taking care of myself! even though I've been reading books about simplifying, organizing, journaling, self-love, for years I've never done the things or stuck with it long enough to make a possitive health impact! covid-19 has really made me realize that life is too short and I need to take care of myself and be happy and not work constantly and be miserable! I love your channel!
It's only since I started therapy a couple of months ago that I realised there is a difference between my inner voice and my inner critic. I used to think they were the same, and so I believed everything she ever said. Realising that I don't have to do that anymore, has been such a relief, but also really hard, because such a big part of my self image exists of my inner critic's opinions. Thank you for this video, I really needed this today. ❤️
Thank you maddie. I've been feeling really shit today because I'm at the peak of my PMDD and when you said its ok to be sad I just cried. It made me feel much better :)
I really needed to hear this today! Thank you..so I texted a friend and shared such thoughts. Was feeling quite guilty that I thought I'd get lots done this last year at home, ie pray more, de-clutter more, spend more quality time with each child, (all four) spend time studying something new, look for a job, exercise etc etc but the schedule just went out the window..instead de-motivation set in, so now I aim to take baby steps to achieve these goals and more, little by little... and not to think this last year was a waste as it definately was not...Thankyou for reminding me that I am special and important.. I asked God this and I believe He affirmed it through you!
I think it is also so important to put everything into perspective. Now that I am mom, I wouldn’t ever want my own children to talk to themselves the way I have in the past or hate on their body or mistakes. If they came to me and explained how they felt and it was the way I had treated myself in the past, I would be devastated. I would tell them that everyone makes mistakes and to be gentle on yourself. That they are perfect the way they are. We never look at ourselves this way. I try to look at myself as my own daughter, I try to be gentle and kind like I do to my sons. We all deserve some grace and inner kindness. ❤️
Celebrating the little wins has been something I have been reminding myself to do, and it really works. It keeps me motivated while also helping my keep from getting overwhelmed.
Love myself feels like so much work because i require alot more help because i have adhd and self worth issues ❤ its ok to take your time ❤givinf up on yourself is worse

This is one of my favorite videos you’ve made. So calming & pleasing to the senses. Long time subscriber, this brought me back! I really appreciate when you open up about your mental health issues and make videos like this, it’s so relatable, useful and helpful. Really helpful. Thank you, I really needed this. We have the same happy places 🤗 Also, your hair looks incredible! I remember your ‘no-poo’ (I think that’s how you said it?) journey, its completely transformed since then! Happy Love Day to everyone 💖
Second this comment! Maddy (such a cute nickname so I will use it), thanks for creating and continuing to create a visually pleasing “happy place” for your subscribers to your channel here on RUclips that spreads positivity and POSITIVE MESSAGES outside of all the negativity just rampant and out of control in the media. It’s so much nicer to have you and other RUclipsrs like you in the background while doing work or in the foreground ! as an respite and alternative to all the crap out there. Your hair looks gorgeous and as always your video is beautiful. Be well! 🥰
Thanks for this, Maddy! I think even if you know all these things sometimes it's nice and/or helpful to just have a concrete reminder. I, like you, struggle with that perfectionistic, all-or-nothing mindset and it hinders me a lot so it's nice to know I'm not alone 💜
3:17 For me it's really important to listen to my heart and my intuition. No one else but you knows what's best for you. Follow your own feeling. It will make you your happiest self.
Love this video, thank you for the tips. « Forgive and let go » really change my life also letting go of the expectation of society, you can’t please everyone and that’s ok, you do you.
Loved this video. True and still down to heart. Thank you for talking about toxic positivity. Yes, sometimes we should allow ourselves to feel sad because we need to deal with those negative feelings to be able to learn/grow/let go. For me, I've been trying to create a new routine for myself since my life went upside down a few years ago. Haven't been able to commit to one yet. Anxiety, insomnia, and an unstable life didn't help. But things have been getting better. So maybe 2021 will be the year. I have issues with accepting not to be perfect. It's preventing me for doing lot of things I want to do. But I have been working on it for a while. If you have any advices on the topic, thanks !
I love watching your channel you're an absolutely stunning! From time to it I get panic attacks and your videos give some relief! Also my birthday was on the 26th of January you're an aquarius to! No wonder why I love your channel so much!
Thank you for this video ❤️ I needed it so much. I broke up with my boyfriend after 5 years of dating so this will be my first Valentine on my own in a long time. Fortunately it was a healthy relationship and things ended really well. But what you mentioned about just being sad if you feel sad is really meaningful to me at the moment. So thank you for all the recommendations ❤️

Very important. I'm naturally a night owl and just feel more comfortable that way.
Exactly the same here. It's not about any fancy lifestyle advice, it's mostly about listening to your own body! :)

My therapist and I refer to my horrible inner critic as the "asshole with a megaphone".
Bahahaha! I love this 👏🏼
I love this. It's a perfect description because it really does feel like that sometimes doesn't it?!

Loved this video! This is just what I needed
I definitely need some self care this month 🤗 thanks for the reminder
I work too much and ignore myself
You are the most beautiful youtuber, inside and out! Great video and love seeing little Roxie in the background 😍
