Finally got my tree branches cut using my new saw ruclips.net/user/postUgkx84IcU5pbZd1Qrz8u4-YRLmJax7kdRi7B , and it was effortless. Then tackled taking pallets apart by just cutting through the nails. Zip Zip, like butter, took no time at all! Absolutely love that you just push a button to change the blade, so quick and easy. I chose cordless because of all the outside projects I need to do, and most are too far to extend an extension cord to. Incredibly lightweight, and easy to handle. I will be using this all the time. There is a reason they call them Sawzalls , because they literally saw all the things you need cut. Once you buy one you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner ~ Just make sure and buy the right blades for the job you want to tackle. The blades are not expensive, and there are lots of various multi-packs available.

Pretty cool idea. I do recommend a sharper blade though!

I would recommend attaching to two small quick clamps instead of bolts

Quick recip saw tip: Pull your saw through the line of the cut every so often to clear the sawdust. Not a big deal if the wood is thinner than the stroke of the saw, but otherwise you're just accumulating sawdust in that groove, and the blade is just mulching those shavings instead of cutting through the board.

Should have done the video again with the unit on the other way around to get a 45 degree cut from the corner. It would also make the bolts easier to access. Perhaps next time?

Why is it you can't get something like this in the UK? I could do with one of these right now. Does anyone know if I can get something similar in England?

I'll buy a garage full of jigs for every type of cut in the world. Let me order one in 1", 2", 3", 4", 5", 6", (skip 7) 8", (skip 9) 10" 12" 16". Then I'd better make a swinging guide for every nail I hammer too. Best to make one for each size and length of nail. So another 10 jigs. Boy I sure love buying tools. So will you! Act now!

So much easier just to use a chainsaw and post caps. This would take forever with any large fence.

Surely this will destroy the set of the blades teeth. They will be blunt in minutes.

Very time consuming... I don't see a pro carpenter using this. Good for a rookie perhaps, but overkill.

  • @RonJaySmith

No way would I use this. I use a laser to level out top of posts and cut them all level all the time. If i did this it would take me forever. Not worth the hassle. Honestly its not that hard with a good sharp blade to mark a few lines and follow the lines.

Complete waste of time. What happens when you have to cut 30 posts?
This is good for cutting one post
Imagine all the wasted time setting this up and taking it apart when you can just cut the posts with a skilsaw!!!
