Ingenious. I wish I knew about this simple device a few weeks ago as it would have saved me lots of time and leveling by an angle grinder, wood chisel, and a saw zaw.

Or, you could have move the jig down a bit and cut along the top of it.

sjagain Although I thought the same thing, I think the point of doing it in the middle is to avoid bucking as much as possible. But im sure both work just fine so long as the blade stays flush with the metal pieces.

Is that a store bought jig?, I could use it now for shortening a 4x4 table leg
