I never even thought to start out by threading the hook through first and then take it out and just tunnel the loop through the hole you made :O, mind blowing, thanks for that
Just subbed because you actually said how to rig something and then actually taught other people how to do it in a little over 2 minutes. I wish more RUclips fishing videos were this good and this short. Nice job!
You're the only person who's shown a sensible method for rigging plastic baits on to a keeper-less weighted fish hook. Thank you so much for posting this.
I have been watching several longer videos of how to rig swim baits. Yours is by far the most helpful and simplest and shortest.....Thanks for a great lesson!
Great video! Gave me an idea: large 1.0 long shank hook; 1/4 inch dowel (8 inches or there about long). File off the barb on the hook, cut off the eyelet on the hook, drill matching hole same as hook size in dowel, fill hole in dowel with super glue, insert barbless hook shank, let dry/set (24 hrs); now one has a permanent hook rigging tool for their plastics.
Jon Bollinger you can get away with 20lb test, I personally use 15 and never had an issue. That’s because I fish cleared water than usual. If I was fishing muddy water I wouldn’t hesitate to throw 20
If the old plastic is garbage just tear it off and don't worry about it if it's trash. If you want to save it you'd have to pull the hook back out and then pull the eye of the hook back through.
Hate those offsets, I lose a lot of takes with them, too bad cause gamakatsu line is strong and sharp but the gap is not wide enough for me even on 1/0
Josh Jones with a weighted hook you can work a swimbait faster without it coming to the surface and you can fish it deeper in the water column. With a weightless hook you can work the soft plastic in shallow water or above weeds with no issue. 80% of the time I’m throwing a soft plastic swimbait with a weighted hook
you're the ONLY "how to rig" video that actually shows ho to. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. 👍
Agreed! I can't believe how many I waded through that actually showed how to rig! Subscribed!!
Fishermen are the WORST cameramen. This guy is good

very good video...embarrassed I couldn't figure out on my own...thanks
lol agreed, I feel like i just saw somebody walk on water
You don't even want to see how I did it.
I know, Homer Simpson moment...
"DOH!" 😛
Same..I've been feeding the weight through the head of my plastics for YEARS..I can't believe this never occurred to me
Then again, I probably still will instead of re-tying every time I switch plastics. I'm lazy
Straight to the point and no b.s. Awesome video.
Thanks for watching and thank you for the feedback!
Short, sweet and to the point. Well done with out the 18 minute presentation.
Excellent video. The instructions are clear and concise. I was not sure how to use the corkscrew and now I do! Thanks

Very simple explained, great video. Thanks
Great video the best on RUclips on how to rig absolutely fantastic thanks for posting ALIEN
Genius! What a smart way to rig. Thanks for the tip
Great demo 👍
Nice, great illustration ...
That first trick is great but its going to be a little tough doing that if you have the hook tied to the line wouldn't you think?
So set up the lure first, then retie.
Or, prep all your lures in advance.
Best explanation I've seen, helped me thanks.
Thanks for this video! Straight to the point
Great video 👏👏👏 Let you know this weekend how it works out for me 👍
Good Job
Great vid. I have super toads and i have hooks without the springs and it ripped the nose of one so Thanks.
Re tie after every bait change?
Great nice video. Good job!!
It really helped
hi thanks for the video, do you use this type hook over the Berkley style jigs or TTs
Very good video. Thanks for sharing.
Can a weighted hook like this be used when the bait doesn't have that slit in the bottom?
Finally a useful video!
HI what is the name of those hooks. i cant find them to buy..thanks
Just watched a video about the trokars.. guy said use 20lb or higher test line with those hooks.. seems excessive to me.. thoughts?
Jon Bollinger you can get away with 20lb test, I personally use 15 and never had an issue. That’s because I fish cleared water than usual. If I was fishing muddy water I wouldn’t hesitate to throw 20
sooo with the Fluke you need to re-tie the hook every time you need a new plastic?!
Great info thanks so much!
You sir are a genius
Excellent. Just the vid I needed.
Thanks! Superior video!
Hell yes! Thanks for making this vid man.
Very informative video.
How do you fish these weighted hooks? Do you just cast and work them back like a swim jig?
Alex Daszek Yup! Just cast and reel!
Damnnn awesome vid bro
Can you use those hooks for worms
Ok so the one without the screw lock what are you supposed to do when you need to put a new plastic on?
If the old plastic is garbage just tear it off and don't worry about it if it's trash. If you want to save it you'd have to pull the hook back out and then pull the eye of the hook back through.
How would you use these swimbaits for fluke off a party boat?
I would be personally using a bucktail jig and have a swimbait as a teaser about 12-18 inches above it
So then every time you wana changed the bait, you gotta cut the line n re rig it😮
So how do you hook on the first bait after you have already tied the line on?
cut off the line, hook it up, tie the line again.
Solid video. Thanks.
Can you use either hook set up for both baits?
Jack Woodlee yes you can if you'd like to
Great
sweet video. really gonna help me. 'preciate man.
what is the weight on the 5/0 screw hook?
