You are so right about the Ledgehead. Since you got me using those I’ve missed fewer fish and baits last so much longer. That head adds so much action the way it’s weighted. Great video.
#100percentwatchsquad is here! Very informative video, Hank. I honestly think a lot of guys underestimate how important matching the right hook to the right bait is. And that butterfly on your finger was a nice touch.
Awesome vid brother Hank !!! I realized I was using the wrong hooks from ur vid a couple weeks ago and have been waiting for this one !!! So glad and thankful you didn't make us wait 🎉🎊 thanks partner and as always YOU ROCK 🤘🎣💙
This topic hit exactly the problem I have been having. Thank you! I have been nipping off about 1/2" of the swim bait to get in the bait better and to have more hook exposure. It gives it a shorter and fatter profile.
Once again awesome video. Thanks for giving it to us straight, no BS. That’s what I like. I fish a small 3 acre pond. No structure, muck bottom. It is a bowl with cattails all around. I know there are some 5-6 pound largemouth in there. Will they eat a big swim bait? The big ones out deeper in middle of hit Summer? I’ve tried to deep crank, but no luck.
Hey Hank, first off thanks Jeremy for helping BassGeek out with editing! As for the video.... really great job touching on this subject. Straight up no b.s. truly enjoy learning from you. Keep up the awesome job. Appreciate you 👊
Oh yeah man I needed this one thank you brother for all the amazing content and awesome awesome tips I greatly appreciate it. Stay motivated brother 👊🏻🎣🇺🇸💯👍🏻
I agree Hank,I got some 8 inch solid body flat top baits. And that cps spring blows out,and you drag in a huge wacky rigged swim bait! Love your ledge head spring sizes! Finally a better option to hold em on there! Good info as always! Go Hank🎣💥👏
You should link Ledgehead in the vid description I had to listen to you say it a few times before figuring it out. Ima get me some of those tho thanks for the tips here!
Great topic. Great design on that belly wire, I don't know how many swimbait get thrown out because they're tore up before you even catch a fish. If you use them in dence cover like I do
Love these videos. Very informative. Quick question though, how should swim baits be retrieved (fast, slow, jerky, etc)? Thanks for the great content!!
Truly that's a better question for the bass than me. Now I can tell you that MOST (not all) of my success with swimbaits have came at a steady slow nonstop retrieve. Even when they hit it and don't eat it don't jerk just keep reeling slow and steady.
Just yesterday I was throwing the little sub-3incher on a ball head, and getting a ton of short strokes on Lake St. Clair, but I think they were perch.
Hey hank I’m going fishing this week and we’re gonna fish shallow for bluegill eating bass do you think this lineup would catch em Wacky rig Swim jig Whopper plopper Shakey head Toad ( because of you I tied it on)
Not related to topic but what kinda trolling motor battery do u use? Mine went bad and I'm shopping for a new 1 1st time I've had to do this. Thanks for u do brother
If I click on your Tackle Warehouse link, then purchase something besides what is in your link do you still get a kick back? I'm trying to use your link when I make an order so it helps you a little bit
It's like the ledge head but I would ONLY use it for Like Ribbed baits like Keitch's. The twist spring is crazy small and won't hold up to bigger baits. If I you use it for bigger baits you need to use glue.
I always have swimbait options with me based on your channel and results. Thanks Hank!
Thanks brother they are just soooo dang divers.

Yes and it don’t get hung up near as much in rock
Good video! I started using ledge heads last year and they are LEGIT!
I love'em
Seriously I was just thinking about this this morning at the pond..lol
Thanks for sharing..
Hahahaha that’s funny
#100percentwatchsquad is here! Very informative video, Hank. I honestly think a lot of guys underestimate how important matching the right hook to the right bait is. And that butterfly on your finger was a nice touch.
Lol thanks and yeah most go short or with small spring and it cost you fish or baits
Awesome vid brother Hank !!! I realized I was using the wrong hooks from ur vid a couple weeks ago and have been waiting for this one !!! So glad and thankful you didn't make us wait 🎉🎊 thanks partner and as always YOU ROCK 🤘🎣💙
Thanks. I figured I would wait a second

Thank you sir for watching
Been wondering about this. Thanks. Trying to get the feel of swimbait fishing.
Longer is better

Yes and they will kill it.

Thanks for watching and I hope this helps a little.
Oh yeah man I needed this one thank you brother for all the amazing content and awesome awesome tips I greatly appreciate it. Stay motivated brother 👊🏻🎣🇺🇸💯👍🏻
Yes sir I love it!
Great tips. You do an awesome job Hank. Keep up the great work
Thank you I wanted to compare the sizes a little better but I left some hooks at home

It helps alot. Oh and on the belly weights just change the spring out.
Great video man keep up the good work and great content as always
Thanks I just want to help. I love my ledgeheads (NOT Sponsored) but I just want people to look for the things that's going to save baits and money.
Watched a couple of your videos very helpful my dude.
Alright! I hope you stick around we do a lot for the subs.
You should link Ledgehead in the vid description I had to listen to you say it a few times before figuring it out. Ima get me some of those tho thanks for the tips here!
They are linked in the description
@@BassGeek sorry I missed that!

OH MAN PREACH FOR ME. LOL I'm the same 100%
@@BassGeek No Doubt! Now if I could find a way to save tearing up my tip toads in somewhat the same type situations I'd be in business.
@@NeilGraham.I.M.F Yeah.
Great topic Hank. I'm for sure going to be mindful of my swim bait hooks from now on. Seems like you and I spoke about this before. 🤔
Yup sure did
helped me out buddy, i missed one yesterday because of no belly room.
Yup
All right I’m gonna order some ledge heads
Thanks Hank for thi info on those hooks bro.
Like I said I don't care what you use just be sure to look for the things in a swimbait head that show they are made by people who fish'em.
Love these videos. Very informative. Quick question though, how should swim baits be retrieved (fast, slow, jerky, etc)? Thanks for the great content!!

So difficult to determine witch swimbait hook to use. I have a tendency to go a size down. I use mostly rage swimmer style swimming baits
Yeah I hope this helps but Those baits have sooooo much tail action the longer hook is always better
Just yesterday I was throwing the little sub-3incher on a ball head, and getting a ton of short strokes on Lake St. Clair, but I think they were perch.
Great video Hank!
Thanks very much I really appreciate it.
1 trick if your swimbaits are rippin out, get Medium springs and replace the standard smalls that come w it.
POW! How ya Like Turppa21 NOW. You Preach bro. Can't agree more. I love those owner center pins.
6:38 a buddy of my always says that😂
hahahaha so bad. hahahaha
I haven't watched most of your fishing videos for only two days at work to a NASCAR race
Hey Work sucks Fishing is great and so is NASCAR!
What kind of swimbait was that girthy rainbow trout patterned one? It looks pretty cool
2 companies make those Bassmunitions and Ramsey’s baits
@@BassGeek thanks alot man
Hey hank I’m going fishing this week and we’re gonna fish shallow for bluegill eating bass do you think this lineup would catch em
Wacky rig
Swim jig
Whopper plopper
Shakey head
Toad ( because of you I tied it on)
Yes all the way. Swim jig want hurt either
Is the ledge head you have next to the 3.3 keitech the micro?
Yes sir.
Can you put a list of swimbaits and split and pin tails i can use in mass
Man about any you just have to find the ones you and the bass like.
@@BassGeek thank you sir. This year im really trying to take fishing more seriously and i love your video's
Not related to topic but what kinda trolling motor battery do u use? Mine went bad and I'm shopping for a new 1 1st time I've had to do this. Thanks for u do brother
I've been using the Walmart specials forever and I wouldn't recommend them. Hey but if they die every year you get to replace them. lol
If I click on your Tackle Warehouse link, then purchase something besides what is in your link do you still get a kick back? I'm trying to use your link when I make an order so it helps you a little bit
Yes sir! Thank you also!
@@BassGeek no problem brother! You should be a rich man with all the stuff I buy in a year from TW 😄
Looks like 6th Sense stopped making their hollow body. What other hollow body swimbaits do you recommend?
There are several good ones out there. The Strike King shadalicious is a great one, True bass swimbaits, and Smash tech are all great.
totally agree with you
Heck yeah
My grandpa always said that a butterfly color you see around is the color of lure you should be throwing
Hummm never heard that one wild
What about a swimbait head like the Matt Allen dirty jigs swimbait head. Like is that the same as the ledge head. Or more like the belly weight
It's like the ledge head but I would ONLY use it for Like Ribbed baits like Keitch's. The twist spring is crazy small and won't hold up to bigger baits. If I you use it for bigger baits you need to use glue.
Oh wait that has the wire keeper yeah thumbs down completely. I would take the goat from gambler first.
@@BassGeek lmao so what head would you use for ribbed baits like the Kietech 3.3
@@BassGeek nvm I see what u mean I’m a freaking idiot lol. Thank you will check them out. Tight lines
Thank you Hank for sharing another great video as al you Rock.
Thank you very much appreciate you.
If only all the major company’s, their engineers and their research and development departments would only consult you first…
They do it to save money and cost ya baits they make
