I love running a st croix avid 7'1" MLF with a daiwa ballistic LT 2500, i run 15lb suffix 832 to either daiwa j flouro or samurai flouro 8-12lb with a blood knot, and thats just been my jam with swim baits hair jigs or spybaits
I'll fully agree with how good those silver base mini underspins are. My mom and I went out this last weekend for Minnesota opener, and she got after a ton of smallies on that thing with a easy swimmer on the back. Congrats on the designs guys! Proven fish catchers already!
Anoter home run video, Matt. You pointed out something that never crossed my mind, then things rarely do, but never thought about a white swimbait head being too loud. Thanks for such good information as always.
Matt, I know this is an underspin video, but you really need to check out the 6th Sense Treble Head Line through jig heads. It makes throwing these smaller swimbaits with a treble hook amazingly awesome!!! Killer hookup ratio and the line through helps the baits last so much longer!
If you like that design, check out the Bill Lowen Slip Shad head. The Lowen head came long before the 6th sense and you'll instantly recognize all the similarities. It's also available on TW 👍🏼
Hold up Matt....Im in NC and I throw the dark sleeper all the time. Even the little 2 inch gets bit by everything from warmouth to crappie and bass. Love those baits!
I love how passionately you guys talk about underspins. Personally ive never been able to catch a fish on an underspin. They just dont hit it for me like they do a regular ol paddle tail.
As always this is a great video. The way you guys lay out and present your content is the best out there and I appreciate that you guys tell people what works and not just promote what you’re selling. But for anyone who isn’t sure about the tactical underspin, know they absolutely catch fish, and a LOT of them. Up here in Michigan the small underpins and jig heads have become close to if not my favorite way to catch them and the tactical underpins just get it done. Absolutely confidence bait.
Love the videos! Question, I know you are bass guys but have you ever thought about going up to the fox river in Greenbay Wisconsin for the opening of musky season? Not a video idea or anything like that but I think you would enjoy hunting the biggest fish in the lake, go throw a 10" magdraft and hold on! Thank you for your time!
I stock them all the way up to the beast or monster or whatever they are called. the owner is by FAR the best. My favorite is still the baby sizes with a keitech, strike king if im sick of losing plastics, or the googan swimmer (does really well at super slow speeds and has a nice "roll" to it on a flashy seimmer so sick with 2 tone baits) the googan is only marginally better when it comes to bait life but still heartier than the keitech. but man that keitech slays.
I completely regret not throwing that mini underspin when i was up in northern minnesota this year... i was too wrapped up in how much the smallies were smashing 90 size ploppers and vision 110jr +1's
Man another awesome detailed video we all appreciate you and Tim for your time and putting that content out there for us all ,and saving us a bunch of money for sure, they way you two guys narrow everything down is phenomenal,we thank yow god bless and be safe.
A head that I haven’t heard really mentioned by anyone be sides Andrew Hayes on Tackle Talk is Jigmasters perfected swimbait sled. That head really adds a nice body roll to your bait plus it has a screw lock. That head paired up with a 2.8 Big Joshy Swimbait is something that is local to Ohio and it works really well
3 inch spark shad in huio on a 1/4oz ballhead with my Dobyns 701c aldabaren bfs setup only 4 lb line and I bring some of the bass pro screw in underspin blades in both silver and gold and I found this spot on my local lake that seems to be loaded up since January when I found it it’s a 25 to 30 foot deep creek channel with a pretty long and skinny huno in the middle that’s about 12 to 14 foot deep the only thing I have to figure out is if they are on the huno or off it and then if they want slow roll or faster with twitches and I’m set lol
Finesse swimbaits are high in my bait rotation. Especially the Spark Shad!!!!!! I’ve caught more 4 pounders on them than anything else in my boat. Match it with the Tactical finesse underspin and I’m in business
You really really need to test out the Crush City Mayor. It has the most amazing body roll that has been absolutely slaying big fish for me in high pressured clear water. I have no doubt it will work in other scenarios too.
I friggen love the SleeperGill by MegaBass so I should try the dark sleeper. I’m in Southern/Mid Ontario most of the time! I knew we have a goby problem but I’m liking the heavy recommendation from Matt, here!
Hey Matt, just wondering if you have ever fished Norris Lake in TN. A buddy and I have just started fishing there and are trying to figure out what they like best.
Man, after watching your video I went out and got one of these. Before I made it to the water, my son ripped the magnet out of it. Lol I'm yet to catch anything on it. But, I love to action. I hope to get some time in with it this weekend.
The number 1bait in Europe, is a Keitech Style paddletail swimbait, Perch,Zander,Pike,Catfish,Seabass and many more are love this kind off bait, we normaly jig it over the bottom, with ground contakt, not many use underspins, the only that you get are fron Nories, Raid and when you have luck the Megabass Okashiro Screwheads but they're not cheap, coast around 16€ our 17-18 bucks!
Sounds like socialism is really working well for you out there. I personally would like to keep all my God given rights and only pay $6 for the same thing here in America.
@@Mr.BigPerch I thought your education system was supposed to be better as well. You don't even know how to write a sentence that makes sense. Your government still owns you in Germany, God Bless America!
Yo Tim and Matt if the bass are not chasing bait is it better to go to the regular swimbait head or stay with the underspin all year long because of the flash???
Thats my go tovas well. Use the natt allen 1/8th on my a rigs but love them matt stefan guppyvheads for EVERYTHING else. Its just perfect. Gotta try their underspin
Another day, another tacticalbassin video. Quick question: what about weedless swimbait, no underspin? I am pretty sure I saw one of your videos dabbling on Hayabusa weedless swimbait hook 1/0 on Damiki Armor Shad. Regardless of bait, does that hook make a cut in tandem with flashy swimmer? Thanks!
Been smashing on Xzone for years. Thats my go to. Although the new mayor is awesome too. The little mayor paired up with your underspin is fire. Smashes em here back home. Im in the same boat for colors. PB Red Pearl, Electric Shad, chartruese blue for those smallies..sexy shad is that kinda all around color... specially speaking on the swammer variations of these colors.. Ive only been using dirty jigs heads since I started watching you guys ..gosh idk 7 8 years ago....ill use vmc boxers once in a while or just a normal gammy or BKK round ball head.. Have you found a cold water substitute for the churro yet?
Matt, SERIOUS QUESTION. you raved about the cool baits underspin for years! I tried it based on your recommendation and loved it, now have a box full of them at $7 a bait. So my question is. What makes your underspin a better option then the cool baits underspin? Where does your underspin out perform the cool baits? I absolutely enjoy your videos, i watch every video you guys put out. I respect your opinion. The cool baits underspin is in my top 5 things to fish with. Thanks Matt.
We caught so many fish on that head! But we struggled with some baits hanging low and the blade hitting the bait instead of spinning, we also struggled with the keeper destroying baits very quickly. By all means, fish them... but when you run out, see if you like how we remedied those issues. You might love our design, or maybe it won't be for you.
I don’t about anyone else but I’d like to see a TB jighead kit box or even a jighead/ swimbait kit with everything already sized and colored in one travel box.
watched this video and went out with an underspin just before sunset trying to get some bass, caught a 4 pounder and then an 18 pound flathead just a few minutes later. lol
Please leave colors for Washington state clear water reservoirs. Such as lake Washington and American Lake and on the Eastern Washington lakes such as Moses Lake and banks Lake. All I hear from everyone is about shad. We don’t have shad out here. Thank you!! Michael
Matt, you and Tim keep putting out such high quality videos packed with details it's outstanding. Us hard core guys really appreciate it. Thank you.
This along with some of your other videos needs to go in the TB Hall of Fame. 👍🏻

Great info Matt! Caught a nice bass on your underspin yesterday, with the mayor. Sure hope to fish the great lakes at least once in my lifetime.
The full sized Tactical Underspin and Crush City Mayor have been pretty much automatic for me. Awesome combo.
What colors are you using for murky to muddy water?
The duo realis 3.0 don't seem to be available and I noticed you did not have a link in the description. Have they been discontinued?
Got some red TUSH heads from Core Tackle at the Classic. Goes really well with the little Mayor.
