I once saw this case of this one man from central america who was seeking asylum for MONTHS....like 2 years....telling them he fears for his life that a gang was going to kill him. everytime he got sent back. I have no sympathy for illegal immigrants. I came to this country 27 years ago following the law step by step. If my family was threaten by drug cartel members (consequentially funded by American consumers) and I was refused asylum from the only place viable for me to protect my family, you can be damn sure I'm entering the country illegally. With that in mind, rational politics is required, not this delusional identity politics and day by day politics. We need a real solution, the catch and release policy from past administrations wasn't helping, and under this administration mass incarceration and separation of children from their guardians is a financial burden and ethical dilemma. A comprehensive pathway to citizenship for the vast majority of illegals in this country is the only productive solution.
It may be funded by American consumers (because it is true), but drug cartel members were made out of choice by those who participated, no one forced the hands of those people to do what they do. The government sucks at handling the problem and the problem then falls on America when people want to illegally come here. I'll give you this though the one way to make productively solve this problem on both sides is to make lesser drugs that the cartel sell such as marijuana completely legal. Also if you were to come here illegally I would indefinitely rat you out.
We should also reform our immigration process as I will agree some of the things that they have you do is unnecessary like for instance take a U.S history test. Their kids can learn that they dont need that shit

Many have spent years and tens of thousands or more in legal fees trying to “become legal” but sometimes THEY JUST CANT. My dad was deported 8 years ago well this upcoming august.. Lawyer fee's too much at this current moment.. I moved from Los Angeles to the east coast 2 years ago... been a hell of time so far but I thank god I'm still out here surviving finally gathering somewhat of a plan... very difficult to save and prosper in such a big city not saying it's impossible but it helps a lot being in a small town/smaller cities surrounding you.. one day we'll get to the goal just keep fighting...
