      I am a left embracing diversity and globalisation, but London or Britain is pretty much doomed now, the rich coming from Russia and Saudi have pretty much destroyed every bit of the old charm of London. All I sense is materialism. meanwhile everyone else is struggling in life and turning against each other. And all your politicians don't do anything for their people.

      @halorecon95 7 лет назад +1

      Halpo2k9 Not really, because the Poles had gained land from the Germans and have the right to migrate to Germany without any issues. Germany has repayed what they owe Germany. If there's any country which owes the Poles it's Russia, and that is exactly how the Poles feel aswell.
      Still, it's a different comparison. I was not talking about occupation attrocities, I was talking about ill thought out plans. The carving up of the Middle East in 1918 and 1948 are the reasons why the region is so violent these days.

    Respect to the one that just want to stay and work or save and go home to kick start a better life we had a Polish guy in our work his 3 pals left and he was kicked out his house coz he could not afford to keep himself. He never said nothing but i got suspicious so followed him after work and he went to a tent in industrial estate in Glasgow in winter too so i spoke to my wife went to work the next day and told him to pack his stuff into my car coz he was coming home with me and gave him our dining room.He speaks great Scottish now as we taught him.Wanting nothing from him but he kept giving us £400 a month im not rich in cash but put this money away and he was saving up for rent i told him never too leave until he saved £10000 for a deposit for a flat to buy and when he did me and my wife returned his £7000 in digs which he never wanted to but i told him we had never been abroad so he organised me my wife and 3 kids to his mothers home in Poland and now were like family 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️ Give people a chance

Just because these people are desperate doesnt mean they are not lying to manipulate the system. He only told and promoted one side. Complex issues in a short video that are not brexit isssues. Sleeping the way they did is an absolute joke. If you rough sleep for a long time you know thats not how its done and you avoid it at all costs and once you have a place a room etc you never want to do it again its a slow form of suicide. If you end up without a place for night you would go to mcdonalds until you got a room. Rough sleeping is to complex to be a brexit issue its for people that cant interact with the system. They chose to sleep on street just for cameras. if you come here and you cant support yourself for housing its not UKs problem. Not enough housing for this. Hopefully they settle and work but you shouldnt have a limited resource of social housing that britains most vulnerable need as they would use it to send money back home. Social housing gives british people safety with economic and social mobility.

    Why does Vice and most of the "liberal" media continue to intentionally confound legal and illegal immigrants? Most legal immigrants are highly educated or skilled workers, hold good paying jobs (otherwise they would not be granted a visa), contribute via taxes, and generally assimilate well. Illegal immigrants are mostly low skilled, uneducated, do not pay taxes, live off welfare, and do not even try to assimilate. These two groups could not be more different, and yet Vice tries to confuse the viewers by cherry picking statistics.

    All the people trying to make out that Eastern Europeans are taking our benefits are talking crap. Check the statistics - it’s single mums like me that are on the most benefits.

      @TheFakeyCakeMaker Год назад +6

      Exactly, before anyone jumps on you let them understand benefits are a trap and VERY hard to get off and much much respect to you for doing everything you can. The reason many Eastern Europeans can do this is that they are often evading taxes and working under the table so they can employ their mates plus they have low overheads because they live 10 to a one bed house. Easy when you're a single man, not when you're a woman or have children. My dad used to drive far out of his way to get his taxi washed in a carwash run by Poles/Eastern Europeans. They treated my dad like a KING. I got out of his taxi and they brought a cloth to put down for my feet held my hand and walked me over to a place that was dry and safe out of the way of cars. I didn't need it but they made me feel so special and were so respectful. We need to create our system so people who need support get it and those who want to work and get ahead can as well instead we create a system that's hard for people to get ahead and stay ahead and condemn them. Anyway, I just want you to know I think you're doing great and wish you every success. I know it's not easy.

      ReZo DaBaus - Well, when talking about political entities such as countries, then it's often said that their influence - i.e. the options they have to get things their way in the world - are a measure of their success.
      Nevertheless, if you want to concentrate on economics, no problem. First of all, you can't exactly say the US are a country where you don't have a good range of opportunities if you're an enterprising person, can you? Pretty sure there are a good amount of business owners who'd disagree with you on that.
      And in terms of doing well for its citizens, I just had a look at Wikipedia - the US is #11 in GDP/Person (with the top 10 being countries of much less than 10 million inhabitants such as Qatar, Luxembourg...) and #6 in median household income (with the top 5 being Luxembourg, the Scandinavians, and Australia).
      Now I'd say that this alone doesn't tell you everything about a country's success - or would you say that Luxembourg for example is a more successful country than the US overall?

      If you tried this on in Australia then your feet would never touch Australian soil at all, and that's how it should be, they process all their illegal migrants offshore and they can stay there or go home, and that's the only option open to them.

    The entitlement of these migrants is partly the reason why the British voted to leave the EU. We owe immigrants nothing, just because big business leaders lobby to push for more immigration so they can undercut British workers for more profits doesn't mean the British people have an obligation to make you feel welcome. You are not our countrymen, you have not fought and died for this country, just because you pick fruit on a farm does not make you British. Our industries that have been built on the backs of generations of BRITISH People, were intended to be passed on to the next generations for their livelihood, British people are fed up of being made to feel like we are just cogs in a machine that can be replaced by any immigrants that washes up on our shores. If you don't like how you have been treated then leave, do not accuse us of racism or xenophobia because the migrant dream wasn't what you thought it was.

      Britons have been enslaved and conquered time and time again. The Romans, the Saxons, the Angles, the Vikings and the Normans have all once been foreign conquerers 'exploiting the British people'. Do you see English demanding Denmark pay them reparations for the raid on Lindisfarne. No! Because it's fucking ridiculous! It's in the past. No Dane alive took part in the raid on Lindisfarne, just like no Brit alive took part in the colonisation of Africa.
      Brits shouldn't feel at all guilty or shameful for what their ancestors did, they should feel pride. A tiny rainy island on the edge of Europe conquered half the world thanks to the strong societal and cultural values British people hold to. The ideals Muslims and Eastern Europeans hold to is near sighted and tribal. They will never be as successful as the UK, because they are not from the UK. Stop the anti-nationalist cuckholdry that has swept Europe. You sir, are a pitiful human being who hates his country, hates his culture and hates himself.

      You take a handful of pathological individuals out of the context of the entire immigrant group. Of course, we are only talking about those from the EU, because those from outside this organization cannot be criticized. The emancipation has not reached the whole world, so non-EU's wives sit on the allowance and collect from the state all the taxes paid by their husbands and some more. Let's not talk about it. Or are you implying that thats not the case? How are they entitled to free stuff? I'm positive, actually that I know more about this then you being that I make my own research and I'm living in a country full of romanian beggars that come, beg (often by faking injuries such as having a short crutch to gain sympathy) and then they go back home to their families with the money they leeched and then they come back. In what way is it wrong not to want to give them free shit for my tax money? I've personally experienced a romanian beggar stepping onto the train I was on and crying with a cup begging for money and then about 1 minute later when we both stepped off the train she was outside completely calm and not a tear on her face just waiting for the next train to come so she could beg on it.

I bought them food and helped with cigarettes for a while. I was usually convinced by tears and a tragic story. Speech or quotation marks are synonymous with each other; they're different terms for the same thing. I used double quotation marks (or speech marks, if you will) because I am directly quoting you. So thanks for the for the grammar lesson, but I'm not the one who needs it.

My Romanian friend taught himself english+spanish and basic programming so that he could remain competitive in the job market in EU. He also saved money before moving and is succeeding tremendously; the smartest person I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. These kinds of videos frame Romanians in a bad light and encourage people to think that gypsies are Romanian when they're absolutely not. Romanians are white, gypsies are a different amalgamation of races of foreign origin. UK has its own problems, every family has its own struggles as does every country. Just because resources are limited doesn't make the native population guilty for not bending over backwards to help total strangers who set themselves up for failure. Proper refugee assistance isn't bringing them to your country, it's helping to build a better country for themselves.

    • @garr123
      @garr123 7 лет назад +2

      Technically everyone would benefit from globalism if average workers weren't terrified if redistributing wealth due to propaganda. It's literally going to take massive, catastrophic unemployment due to automation to truly broach the topic of UBI in the first world.

    • @ibstah92
      @ibstah92 7 лет назад +10

      Hark Please tell me how an unskilled labourer, who's job has now been automated or moved offshore, benefits from globalism? Globalism benefits those with the factors of production; cheaper labour, cheaper lands, less capital required and easier access to entrepreneurship. It also benefits skilled workers such as professionals since their jobs cannot be offshore so easily. Globalism has failed the middle class who used to be able to thrive and are now lagging behind.

    • @garr123
      @garr123 7 лет назад +2

      RUclips Expert
      It would benefit everyone if the working class didn't consistently vote against their own interests regarding basic income, free higher education, progressive taxation, etc, etc.
      The first world could functionally be a post-scarcity utopia (built upon the broken backs of third world peasants, granted) if working class people would stop misguidedly lashing out against immigrants/minorities as the source of their ills and instead accepted that wealth distribution directly benefits them.
      But instead Europe is falling into far-right nationalism and America just elected someone giving even more tax cuts to the wealthy and slashing the very safety nets the working class rely on.

    • @ibstah92
      @ibstah92 7 лет назад +3

      Hark You're forgetting the very basic Economics lesson 101. Supply and demand. Offshoring production of goods was of extremely good value 10-20 years ago, even as recent as 5 years ago but with the surge in demand for cheap labour, these labour factories are beginning to charge ever higher prices in return for production. This obviously reduces the appeal of offshoring in the first place, so you're ideal Utopian world for the MEDC's wouldn't exist whilst relying on factors of production based in LEDC's. Simply put, they'd charge us more money, which we're already beginning to see.
      Wealth distribution within a country and on a global scale are two very different things. Wealth distribution within a country encourages investment, entrepreneurship and the creation of jobs. Wealth distribution on a global scale removes investment, reduces entrepreneurship and obviously removes jobs.
      TL;DR
      Globalism is good for skilled professionals as they get cheaper goods and their jobs aren't under threat of being offshored.
      Globalism is bad for unskilled labourers as they lose their income due to increased international competition. Also bad for a countries economy as it means more of its citizens are unemployed.

    As an immigrant in the UK from Bulgaria, who came here after the Brexit, I would say that I have a completely different experience here. My husband works in a bank, and I have a good position in a private company. I would say that most of the British people do not hate immigrant, I have not seen any kind of discrimination from them.
    The people that you interviewed are mainly people without any education, who cannot speak English. Wherever they go, they would have the same experience. One cannot expect to go to a foreign country, not knowing the language and succeed, and become rich. That is just not possible.
    Usually these people end up taking advantage of the UK system, applying for Universal Credit, stay in council houses, and live like that without having a job, and any contribution to the society. This money comes from the British tax payer, that is why British people do not like these kinds of immigrants.
    I just wanted to make that clear.

You mention the money that leaves the country, let's not forget the profits UK farmers, landowners and consumers save because of the cheap Eastern European seasonal workers. We need to mention the skilled workers that UK has attracted from Eastern Europe, stimulating brain drain. The education of skilled workers that the Eastern Europe has supplied to the UK was financed by the money of Eastern European educational systems and their taxpayers. Illegal immigration should be prevented, but legal migration can be beneficial to the UK. Low skilled immigrants who do not have any means of income, a place of residence or little to no language skills should NOT be allowed into the UK. Under EU laws we cannot legally turn them away.
    High skilled workers should be welcomed as long as they have a means of income, place of residence and can speak the language well.

      You do realize that fleeing a government using chemical weapons and barrel bombs on its own civilians is not so much a choice as it is necessity, right? You say its okay if they come over and are highly skilled, know the language well, have an income and have a residence... Many of these people are refugees fleeing for their lives. If someone already had good income, a house, and knew the language that would mean they arent an immigrant. Everyone starts from the bottom

      You're incorrect these are IMMIGRANTS. They MIGRATE for economic reasons; for a chance at a better life.
      What you just gave an example of are called REFUGEES. They seek REFUGE in a country because their country is no longer safe. We should take as many refugees as we can economically support and make sure they are integrated into our society.
      Back to the migrants; if your sole reason for travelling is for a chance at a better life then you better be able to have a better life. These guys have a worse life than if they would have stayed in their native countries. So they lose and the UK public lose.

      I disagree with many of your comments. I am living in Bulgaria which is not one of the net contributors to the EU and indeed its handouts annually are very very many of millions. Whilst clever people are leaving for wealthy European countries, that was also true previously and the biggest peoplel leaving are the unskilled and Roma which the Bulgarian government are very happy about. There seems little control of the EU funds so we have 200 privately owned flats getting new windows and facades, wealth people getting hotel renovations in areas where there is no need, pools in privately owned pensions etc etc Bulgaria has and is reaping huge benefits from the EU.

I'm glad i have a heart. But the logical side also needs to be active.too In my personal life i have learned (the hard way) to have a heart, but also to use logic and self protection by setting boundaries with people. I have a right- indeed an obligation- to take care of myself first. This is not selfishness. Learning to help the right person, in the right way at the right time is a learned skill. I want to think that what can be learned on the individual level can be applied to the collective.
