    Pro tip...drill a small hole on top of the main body of the bait and inject spray foam till it's full. Then use baking soda and super glue to seal the hole up. It will remain buoyant for the life of the lure.

    • @stevenmadden316
      @stevenmadden316 2 года назад

      Big plopper user here, you able to tell what size/type of drill bit you are using? As Matt stated in vid, they aren't cheap...I have some colors that are extremely hard to find and don't wanna ruin the lure.. thinking titanium pointed but they can cause distruction just like a Harbor Freight special..thanks!!

    • @Allwayzfishin
      @Allwayzfishin 2 года назад +3

      @@stevenmadden316 just use any new sharp bit for wood. Your drilling into plastic, not metal or cement lol. Just make sure you use a bit diameter large enough to accept the application tube of the spray foam can.

    • @gatordave6629
      @gatordave6629 6 месяцев назад

      Technically supposed to use a different angle tipped bit for different plastics but shouldn't be a issue here that's really for thick or heavy drilling into different plastics

With a happy little tree here, a happy little cloud over there, and plenty of great-lookin' landscape, throughout those pictures that he painted.

      Just make sure you don’t toss it into a tree! I almost put that lure out of its misery when I hit a tree with it and the back end of the wire folded over 90 degrees. It was tough getting the wire straightened back out from that.

    I'll have to try the 75 size whopper plopper. I've had the same issues with the 90 size and I'm sure it's cost me a few fish.

    I’ve learned brand doesn’t matter as much as the fisherman itself. I’m not saying go cheap 100% of the time BUT if you can save the money and get the same results ..why not !! Great content

    I caught three small mouth bass on the Salt River within 30 minutes using an old torpedo lure. The lure is a 4 1/2" inch wood lure green, red, and off white paint with two stainless steel spinners on in the front one in the back, and two sets of triple hooks.

    That first Small mouth hookup was fantastic 😊! Those were some really good fish! If water is leaking into the main body, you can seal that at the wire with a drop of glue/sealer!

    [edit]: that first smallie was an awesome bite while watching paused frame-by-frame. :) Also, I'd love to see a side-by-side Walmart vs an original discarded Plopper disassembled namely to check out the differences e.g. gauge wire, and quality regarding seam quality/construction, size/gauge/sharpness of the hooks, etc.
