- SHOCKING response to HUGE VANLIFE NIGHTMARE... what Citroen have done is UNBELIEVABLE!
So this is it, if you have followed our van life journey for a while, or just tuned in when our van broke down abroad and was towed back to the UK in pieces, then here is the full update of whats happened since.
It's been a long road to get here and it has taken some time and patience but we think you will be as surprised as we were to hear what Citroen/peugeot UK had to say about our vanlife disaster that happened in Spain.
If you don't know what happened, we were travelling around Europe in our newly self converted campervan, having the time of our lives, when our trip was suddenly cut short by our vehicle, and tiny home, completely breaking down.
Breaking down abroad is hard enough, but when it's also your accommodation and store for all your things its even worse. Couple that with an awful ordeal at a Spanish garage and a mammoth journey home without our van, with our dog, at christmas and on top of Brexit then you have a recipe for quite the journey, as ide from the one more obvious disaster, this really is the worst thing about vanlife!

To hear that Citroen has stood by their product, paid for the lot on a 6 year old van is fantastic, well done Citroen plus Citroen Margate. Regards the up dates, a van wrap plus up grade the wheels. It would transform it from a parcel delivery van to a motor home plus it would raise the value when you come to sell it.

Spanish Mechanics !! LOL! Modern vehicles are designed to fall to pieces in short order, and charge the owner $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for parts and service. It's an international SCAM !!

That's brilliant of you to give the money you raised to a charity, and the lockdown puppy idea is inspired. So many people are going to discover having a dog isn't as easy when you have to go to out work all day and I dread the day when so many of them will have to be rehomed. I do wish people would think things through before leaping into getting an animal. Charlie and Meg (our dogs) say thank you ladies, as does The Toastmeister, our cat 👍

Yep, they see foreigners and use the language barrier and perceived desperation and panic to over-egg the issue. Add the fact that most mechanics rip women off worse than men because they assume no mechanical knowledge, and you get this.

Girls, you're an absolute credit to yourselves. The fact that Citroen came up trumps and have enabled you to continue this journey is a credit to them as well and they should justifiably get the recognition they deserve. People are always quick to criticise and never so quick to praise. Keep these videos coming, you're both entertaining and fantastic at passing on your knowledge. My wife and I are waiting to take delivery of a VW T6.1 and cannot wait to get out and about and maybe one day our paths will cross. Keep safe and well x

I got a bit emotional when you said that Citroen offered to cover the cost, I can only imagine what a huge sigh of relief that must have been for you. Funny that it had a fault with the cooling fans... exactly the same thing happened on my 1981 Citroen CX and it caused the car to overheat and I needed a new engine! Must be a Citroen thing... happy camping! x

I know it´s a year on, but I only just discovered you yesterday at 4 am ☺. I can sympathise with your breakdown. 2 long stories short---- 2 months after my husband died I was on my way to stay with friends 650 km away when my Navajo came to a grinding halt about 100 km from my destination. It took 7 weeks to get it back.
On June 1st last year after filling with gas and disconnecting the gas. gun, the van caught light and burnt the side, I am still waiting for door and other parts to come from England, hopefully they will be on their way next week, No damage inside the van except the fridge is Kupput.
I have seen 4 of your videos now and loved every one of them, it´s a pity they are not numbered because now I just have to watch whatever pops up from whenever..
In these times where all we seem to see and hear is doom and gloom it’s so nice to see a happy couple with a well deserved happy end to the overheating fanny saga 🤣 you make us smile and laugh (well me anyway) and that’s priceless.Take care guys

To here your donating to an animal charity with the money is awesome.. Personally before covid I use to travel to Cyprus a few months a year to help in dog rescue center.. You feel like your giving something back plus its so enjoyable how the dogs show there affection on you just by taking them for walks and giving them some love... Take care be safe 🐶🐕

After so long worrying about whether you'd ever get your Fanny back in one piece (can't believe I just typed that!), it must be lovely to be in the position to start planning again. I have only just come across your channel - it popped up because of the Citroen connection ( we are just about to get a Citroen camper ). What an epic story/adventure with your Fanny! So happy it has had a fantastic outcome and respect to you for donating to animal charity.. we have three rescue dogs. Dog rescues are already overflowing with lockdown dogs. 😪 Hope AJ is well on the road to recovery. 💕

Brilliant news guys, good to see Citroen stepped up and you’re right, losing your rag straight away gets you nowhere...what a brilliant idea for the money raised and you’re right again...it’s a ticking time bomb with all those poor fur babies taken on during lockdown so that donation is going to be badly needed.
