    3.31 with 37s makes for an effective axle ratio about a 3.06. If it were 3.55, it would be closer to that of a 3.31.
    I’d say that’s a respectable run given the run time and the lift with being well off in gearing.

    I recently had the 4 corner 5 link LiquidSpring suspension system installed on my 26,000 lb motorhome, (Ford F53 Gas Chassis), at the LiquidSpring HQ and manufacturing facility in Lafayette IN. By far the best money that I have spent on this coach. No more leaf springs, no more shocks. Going from driving a 26,000 lb box to now driving a large SUV.

If you are spending anything over $70,000 USD for a truck, you might as well spend a few more bucks to get the big-tow-rated Liquid Springs setup. Im not too keen on the bumper because i think it is not tough enough looking (i would have gone for full width and full height bush bars plus winches front AND back!), but tbe suspension setup puts some serious help onto maki g your daily driving and towing much safer and more comfortable!

    With the 10 speed the rear axle gear is not as important as most of you think, that motor is gonna run in the rpm it wants and the trans will find the gear, it’s not like the old days with 3 or 4 or even 6 speed transmissions, really the only difference the rear gear is making now is in 1st and 10th for the final drive and they where not in either of those gears but for a few moments during this whole test.

    Wellllll,,, yeah!! That suspension is sooo impressive. You can run as high as your ego needs or hunker down for better economy and it’s just impressive! At $25,000 it’s a bit expensive but I know of a couple of guys that have near that into their 1 tons for suspension, but their trucks are only tall, period!! No height adjustment, several hundred lbs of parts (I know, I helped them unload everything before the installation,,,. The one that I helped them deliver to the dealership, was installed by the dealership $10,000 roughly there!! 😮😮 he was just over $17,000 and then spent another $6000+ on shocks! He is pushing $24,000 installed! The truck is a F350 so it doesn’t ride particularly nice still and is really tough to get into. I’m 5’8” tall and stare at the middle height of the console from the ground. He has a cable step so if he hits it off-road it just flexes. It’s very heavy cable so is decent to get in, but I still don’t like it. The passenger side has 2 steps so his wife can get in. He has a step stool for other passengers if there’s a group. All unnecessary if you have this Elevation suspension!! The bit of extra $$ is more than worth it. There’s no way he could have towed this trailer!!! He’s too tall and the trailer would need to be lifted 6 or more inches to be level! 😂😂😂. That’s how much he had to lift his 5th wheel camper he tows!! It’s nuts!
    I like that truck as it is set up just about perfectly!

    Maybe this is a dumb question, but why does increasing wheel/tire combo weight decrease payload? To me I'd think it wouldn't affect it because the tires are under the suspension, you know what I mean? Like yeah, if you threw those tires in the bed then it would be compressing the springs more and decreasing payload you have left. But I don't see how adding weight to the axles decreases payload.

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP Год назад +3

      Payload is really just GVWR minus vehicle weight, so if any part of the vehicle weighs more, it'll technically reduce payload.

    • @ryangansner2162
      @ryangansner2162 Год назад

      I guess that makes sense on paper. But logically I don't think it should make a difference in real world application. However, I am not an engineer 🤷‍♂️

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP Год назад +6

      @@ryangansner2162 yeah it's not super intuitive. While the suspension controls the vehicle, it also controls the unsprung parts such as the brakes, wheels and tires. The heavier those items are, requires the suspension to work harder when those things move up and down over bumps or ruts. Kind of like waving your arm without anything in your hand, versus picking up a 10lb weight and trying to wave it just as fast. It takes more effort to bring that weight back under control. Weird example but that was what I first thought of, there's probably some better analogies.

    They never once recommended these gears, remember they just drive what they buy, or manufacturers provide, or other vendors let them borrow. Its okay, obviously EOR didnt mind letting them use their truck to prove a point.. and possibly sell another lift 😉

    Too many think that lifted trucks tow better than a stock truck. RIP sanity. Cue the little man ego. At least the wheels and tires on your mall crawler aren’t low profile and stick way out, like all the guys in Utah.

    It should be against the law to have a truck carrying or towing a load without adjusting the headlights. I’ve lost count at how many times I’ve been blinded by them. Especially the new ones with LED headlights!!

    Every truck ive put bigger tires on I regeared. Usually more than stock for better acceleration since the vehicle is heavier n taller. If im gonna tow 20k pounds im regearing.

    Ford motor company has lost me as a customer. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY A NEW FORD! I made the mistake of buying a 2024 superduty with the 7.3, with the intentions of building it up like people do... you know, to make it cool and capable of hanging out with other cool trucks doing off road truck things. Ford really dropped the ball on this one. Want bigger tires to hit the trails? SOL! want more power to keep up with trucks from 20 years ago? SOL! Ford has converted into a bunch of fun suckers! Everyone needs to know, as of 2024 Ford has upgraded to a fully networked vehicle (fnv) ecu that no longer allows you to tune the truck for mods such as bigger tires, superchargers, turbos long tube headers, I wouldn't be surprised if even a new cold air intake or drop in filter would put this thing in limp mode! And it's not just the F-series, it's also the mustang and everywhere car these fun suckers roll off the assembly line. I highly recommend you reconsider your new Ford purchase because I have they have left us performance enthusiest in the dark. They won't respond to emails and they only give you the run around. Save your money and buy a used car or truck. One that hasn't had all the FUN SUCKED OUT OF IT! I will never buy another new Ford truck or car! Especially at these ridiculous prices. I splurged and I regret it. Don't make the same mistake I did. Unless of course you like being embarrassed by every other generation of vehicle in that class that can be upgraded. Learn from my mistake! Boycott Fords control tactics. It is un-American and doesn't deserve your hard earned bucks!

    TFL you crack me up. you take the best truck, with the best suspension on the market and say oh a lift dont change anything. Why dont you find a new truck then put a cheap 4 in lift on it and some stupid looking offset wheels like everyone is doing to their truck here in the real world, then tell me how it towes with 20k on it.

    I think the end result of these tests push manufacturers to make more expensive trucks.... if it can gross more than 26,000# it's pointless for 99% of truck owners.
    If you need a truck with that much towing capacity and power,
    buy sometime like an International truck. Allison 6 speed and 12.4l engine....... there is no sane reason a pickup truck should have these capacities or power. Those trucks already exist.. they are medium duty trucks for a reason..

      Yes, we recorded brake pedal actuation data with Banks - and it recorded zero. We think the brake lights show exhaust brake engagement - although the downhill speed was constant.
