you probably dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the latest movies and series on Instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my brother for the last couple of days :)
I´ve tried this not many times but I felt like I have spent too much time to start paddling again. By this time, another wave was above me. This video is perfect. Easy to understand.
Super! Been following this channel over a year now (so before it was called Surf Insight). Great vids. I like how you have put the vids to another level. When I go to Canaries it's mostly Fuerte where I go to, but if I ever go back to Lanzarote, gotta take a lesson at your school!
Thanks Tim. I go on watching your videos and allways learn a bit more. Hope to return to your school. By the way, I got a very old board to practice the jump! See you.
thats great to hear and really hope they help your progression . We hope you get to join us sometime at www.surfschoolsrilanka.com/ or www.surfschoolanzarote.com/
Great video as always but would love to see this technique demonstrated in much bigger waves.. all the vids out there just show the turtle roll in a few feet of surf and even though this is aimed at beginners, eventually this will need to be performed in much larger surf if like me you prefer to longboard so would be great to see that in practice. Thanks for all the great advice and videos
yes thats not a bad idea at all .. and good if we used to woman to show its not about strength and about technique . We really hope we see you at www.surfschoolsrilanka.com/ and www.surfschoolanzarote.com/ one day.
Yes. Been saying this for a while. How do you get through bigger waves on a long board? What if you’re in the impact zone and a overhead set is heading right towards you, then what? I’m assuming you can’t turtle roll that because it’ll snap the board in half? Idk
@@kvstles actually the techniques really don't change that much , just the commitment. We learn to slice duck dive in bigger surf but this only works with thin comp longboards . As we said to Lostboy we need to feature a video ...and tell people longboards love to snap in big rolls ..a sad fact of life
Ya, agree. This is a great video but what happens in big surf? just been out this weekend and it was double over head. i tried punching through but there was so much whitewater and so powerful, i was fighting a loosing battle. Took me a long time to get out the back .
you can set it u very cheaply by using inner tubes for scooters or small cars . You can also use balance cushions from gym suppliers. But make sure that the tube of cushion you use is not wider than the board itself for sure . we hope you get to join us sometime at www.surfschoolsrilanka.com/ or www.surfschoolanzarote.com
Thats great to know and just keep those small technique things like hand position and timing in mind all the time. We really hope we see you at www.surfschoolsrilanka.com/ and www.surfschoolanzarote.com/ one day.
I tried turtle roll several times on foamy, and my board and myself got throw over by the wave. Even I tried pushing my board towards to wave when I am under water, quite scared the hell out of me.
hi. it can be scary at first this is normal. make sure that the hands are far enough down the board before and during the roll and that you are giving at least a boards length between you and the wave before the action of the roll. keep at it and you will soon be comfortable with it.
Thanks for that Jarod and in that video the angle of the camera makes it look like I am way back on the board. It's an illusion I really dont like and your right but in the end screen video ruclips.net/video/K5IMkqDk9Is/видео.html you see a video which is more technical and where we can see the correct body and board "trim" . This only works in smaller waves I mean if it’s really big the wave can knock the board at your head and knock you unconscious almost happened to me once since then I try to hold on my board like a Spartan warrior at his shield, even if I don’t get under that wave I don’t have to chicken dive my board
Thanks for that and thats a good question. On smaller waves breathing out during the roll can help a lot as it sinks you deeper and away from the board :But.. on the big ones often as you know your going to get thrown about a bit a good breath in that held works well. However not a huge lung full as that just uncomfortable . Hope we see you at www.surfschoolsrilanka.com/ and www.surfschoolanzarote.com/ and do check our Insta instagram.com/surfschools.
Hi Caitlin....that's really sad to hear you broke your fins and you probably did it getting back onto the board after the roll section. But as you see in the video we are using a "dummy" soft board with no fins in it and in lots of the videos we publish we tell people to use a practice board and not their own. Even if you were to use your own board you would take the fins out first. So we cant send you fins and hope you can find a good replacement ..if you need advice about the replacements please ask us .Please check out the description below to find out more about what we do. These are very good and useful, how do I get some of them inflatable cushions?

ahhhh you're the best!!
Thanks again
Would you actually paddle that board from all the way back like that? If I do that on my large fish The nose would come up too much?
