Hi Aaron. Thanks for that... There are video's on our channel that cover that a bit but if you look at the video's from Carve Board itself there is a lot of good info on pumping the board rail to rail to help your surfing . Hope we see you at www.surfschoolsrilanka.com/ and www.surfschoolanzarote.com/ and do check our Insta instagram.com/surfschools.
I have kind of a big board, 7’2” and 62 liters of volume. Do you think it’s worth trying to duck dive or should I just keep doing the turtle rolls? I’ve tried duck diving it but it’s not pretty! Haha
Hi .. As Charles said that a lot of board to duck dive . You can practise the movement by using a low volume short board just to get the sequence right and then use the same with the bigger board. If you weigh around 90 K upwards then its practical for you to keep duck diving this 7'2" . Any less and it going to take real skill to do. With that size board we "slice" duck dive . That means you enter the nose in with a slight angle sideways to the board and slice the board a little side ways to start in submerging under the water . Then when under we follow the same sequence as you see on the video and you must use the foot with this volume of board. Hope that helps and hope we see you at www.surfschoolsrilanka.com/ and www.surfschoolanzarote.com/ and do check our Insta instagram.com/surfschools.
Thank you very much, as always. Keep coming back to you videos as the are, imo, the best!
great explanation and footage of the entire actual dive - best out there on YT (from San Diego)

Nicely Done wow, that’s a lot of liter for a 7’2. Don’t think I’ve seen anyone duck dive anything that high.

A great duck dive can be as fun as catching a wave. A duck dive fail can be not so fun lol.
and that indeed is the truth
