This tool is useful for prospecting for gold on bedrock or dense rock, or areas where a shovel is not practical.

I came back to this video a year later to share with a buddy - I’m still using the same dredge and it works like a charm!
I've made a little bit of a different design to break down and put in a backpack but was stuck on the plug part but I think you just solved my issue! thanks!
Awesome ! Quick, easy and Cheap !! Thank You..
You are welcome!
I suggest putting a hole on the top side- I put mine in the 2" cap for the handle - that way you aren't fighting any air pressure and can tighten the heck out of your test plug. Your suction will be significantly better, and your material/water won't immediately drop out.
Excellent idea!
Where did you get the rubber plug?
@@Paul-hn1wo I have bought a few thru amazon and also the local hardware store. Anywhere from $2 to $8.
Do you not sell your Tributary product anymore. If not, what kind of valve was used to reverse the flow into the bucket. How much was or is that setup. Thanks Joshua
Kindest Regards
Paul.
Once I finally found Lowes and Home Depot employees that knew what a Plumber Test Plug was, both stores had them, albeit Home Depots were only in the 3" to 4" sizes. Thanks Joshua
Thanks , you made it and explained how to make it in a way I could understand. ❤
Glad you found it helpful. Thank you for watching!
Muito bom obrigado!
That has been really helpful👍🏻 I just bought one but this has helped me understand how they are built so I will know how to fix it if it breaks! Thanks for sharing⛏🏴
You are welcome. Thank you for watching!
Awesome, thanks
Thanks for watching!
Awesome! I’ll make one
Awesome tutorial. Appreciate you.
Thank you!
awesome make
Thanks! It works well!
Sweet
Nice job Matt think l will make Tye one
He likes to break his all the time LOL thanks for sharing looks like it’ll do the trick out for now
Yeah, it's cheap and easy. So if it breaks, no problem! Thanks for watching!
Quick and easy hand dredge. I like it. I subbed.😎😎⛏⛏🔥🔥
Thank you. Welcome aboard!
I Call it a mechanical Suction Nozzle, Even though the one that I have is made in Australia with a sticker on the side that says Yabbie pump. Great video thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tye. Apparently they go by MANY names. LOL!
Very nice. I would like to see you using the gold dredge. Thank you...
Thank you for watching! You can see my hand dredge in action in my latest video, here. ruclips.net/video/TSNaYAWv0hs/видео.html
I see some guitar cases and such! Thanks for the run down on the hand dredge. Keep Rockin'! You playing' in the background? Take care ✌🙂
Indeed you do! When I'm not digging for gold, I'm strumming a six-string. Thank you for watching!
@@midwestmidasmining Same here, keep it up! 🤘
Great job on the pump only in Australia do they call them yabbie pumps they are made to catch Yabbies in mud for fishing but good for gold too. I put a like and a sub cheers Glenno.😎👍
A useful tool regardless of the name, lol! Thanks for watching, and thank you so much for the sub!
I have always wondered if a hand crank instead of suction by a pull would work better.
Ever try a nozzle like the Keene A22 or A23?
Hi Matt - I'm having trouble with good suction - the text plugs at home depot are different- so I got several 2" rubber washers to compensate- but still not good sunction??
Gunna make one with two. Backflow preventers and hook a hose to directly feed my box
Cool idea!
If it don’t work I’m sure the build will still be fun
Why didn't you put an end on it to reduce the 2" opening? If I want to get down into the crevices I need a much smaller end.
I watch some other video regarding hand dredge but your way to make hand dredge is really good.thanks for sharing.just sub.
Thank you and welcome!
Very nice and simple sucker. How much was this? Can you give us a price break down? Keep up the good work. 👍👏
Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of the cost. I'm guessing it was less than $40.
Hi I’m just thinking can you send the dimensions please regards Glenn
3:27 I'm the same way with dating.
Saved me some cash
Glad to hear!
@@midwestmidasmining my uncle owns a plumbing business... this is great, why no nozzle on the front end?
You certainly could attach a nozzle. That would be ideal for small crevices. I wanted a wider capture area.
@@midwestmidasmining my thought was have a couple different end pieces in the bag to get down in the cracks
@@JericoHerculesProspectingLLC Sounds like a very good idea.
I'm making a hand dredge for my daughter and myself.
I'd run into issues with the plug but I believe you've cured what ails me!
7 Years of a delay in new videos? Did you find the MotherLoad!!? Hopefully, you're doing ok.
Sam D
I've only been on RUclips for 2 years. Hope you and your daughter find lots of gold! Thank you for watching!
Did it work?
Yes
But why?, buying these parts will cost you as much as buying an Australian stainless pump from Alvey or Wilson
That's got to be the worst band I've ever heard.
What about the end that goes in the water
