Well done man. I didn't know anything about cars before deciding to do an engine swap + turbo on my e30. I was in WAAAY over my head but I went from not knowing where the coolant goes, to a fairly competent DIY mechanic. Should be a cool project and i'm sure it will teach you a ton and give you lots of pride to drive it.
acelerate with cold start will damage motor (diesel and no diesel) and turbo , thats why they blow. And turn off the car is the same. Cold start needs the oil to enter the circuit (2m + - ) ...and Before turn off you will need to use the rest of the oil in the circuit (2m is enough)

I have an 89 e34 2.5 manual thinking on the same set up um the kit is for all who doesn't know you have to buy Ebay universal hoses and just a turbo manifold and a t3 turbo do it your self basically the e30 turbo kit

How will the turbo lubricate.... And one more question the engine is carburated will it still work. Thanks in advance

U know what fuck all of u that keep saying shit about no oil Being fed to the turbo if you paid attention and listen to me talk in the video I said I was going to prime the turbo with some oil before I started it and that’s what I did also I said I would include another clip in the video and that other clip I added was after I had oil lines already ran so the turbo is 100% FUCKING FINE so shut up already and I don’t t care if I piss off anyone that has said anything about the turbo and it not getting oil it not my fault that u people can’t Pay attention and listen

There's nothing really "crappy" about a journal bearing, most cheap turbos are journal bearing and they work really well. What are you going to win using a ball bearing Garrett turbo on this engine? Have you even done anything to the bottom end? The only thing you will get out of a ball bearing turbo is faster spool and a larger hole in your wallet.
Building my own turbo e30 currently. Just thought it'd give you a pointer. DON'T forget to replace the fpr (fuel pressure regulator) before actually making boost. The stock reg can't keep up even with low boost

I saw in your video that the oil filter fits the way it is. Most guys talk about moving it. Maybe because of heat. Obviously cheapest and least work to leave it there if the header doesn't hit it. Looking forward to the next vid! Cheers!
motomx69 Sorry man but I’ve told multiple people that I didn’t run the car with no oil in the turbo. I specifically said in the video that I was going to prime the turbo with oil to do a test start and that I would put a clip from my phone because I finished the oil system and had footage of it running with oil. Trust me I know how all this stuff works if I didn’t I wouldn’t have even started or bought this car. Plus the turbo that’s in the car right now is a shitty journal bearing turbo from eBay
Ashton Hanson you can’t just prime the turbo with oil and then start it up, doesn’t work like that. I’ve been rebuilding turbos for over a year now and I’ve seen worn shafts from one dry start up.
rip e30, testing without oil feed, the engine is going to blow up pretty soon. Stock pistons, cheap Ebay turbo. After the first seconds i could already tell thats gonna be an Ebay turbo. U were a ricer a year ago and will be in the future one.

The turbo may seem fine but you could have added alot of wear to it, you can't "prime" a turbo with som oil, it needs constant pressure and flow.

He's not. The turbo is just hooked to the exhaust at the time of the video with no down pipe and no intake piping.
