Hello, for the half page notes for everything... Is this a half page for torts, Criminal Law, etc... Or further breaking the 1/2 page notes to be a booklet of "Notes on a flash"... 1/2 pg for Parole evidence, then 1/2 UCC, etc, or are we breaking these notes even further like 1/2 page for superventing illegality, or other sub-sub sections?
I guess, it would be the latter and former, but mainly how can one have the sufficient notes they need in a flash without overthinking them too much and getting lost in the punumbra v. the abstract? .. I hope that makes sense... Thanks for all you do to help its greatly appreciated!
I’m talking about the notes taken during class. Many students write down too much during class.
I need to learn tax laws. I have summary book given by institute which is in itself huge. Should i make hand made notes of the entire book or just write in margin of the book & highlight things in the book itself?
If it's large, it is not a good use of your time to write notes. I would write notes in the margin and highlight.
These study tips are great and I definitely recommend them to anyone watching this video, but I find it EXTREMELY likely that you simply got hosed by these asian students who collaborated on the remote exam that you mention. Collaborating is the norm in every major asian country and you can watch it happen in real time on every single campus in the country, including law, med, pharmacy, and engineering graduate programs. They will do it right in the middle of a classroom, much less on a remote exam. I have personally witnessed it in getting my undergrad in biology, masters in biochemistry, and heard second hand of it occurring in another section while obtaining my JD, all at 3 separate universities. It is absolutely rampant and schools routinely refuse to do anything about it.

History or any memorizing subjects have always been touched only by my minimum potential. Sometimes, I find myself really overwhelmed in memorizing important phrases and terminologies in many paragraphs. Can you please give me a tip in memorizing much better?
In my country , when i did final exams , i was required to save in my memory about thousand pages for each class.
That is not the American model. Here, you need to know about 50 pages worth of material for each class. But that is only the content. Here the main part of a law school exam is taking the law and using it with a set of facts in writing an essay. This is harder than memorizing lots of law.

Good point. However, when does one start writing the 3rd set of notes?
I would start working on that third and final set of notes a few weeks before the final. Most people can memorize something in that amount of time.

In US law schools, criminal law is a course. When you graduate from law school and pass the bar exam, lawyers can practice any type of law without any more exams.

I have received a letter of acceptance to Queen Mary LLB (in UK). I was just wondering if all the things you teach here are transferable to the UK Law School System.
Such as understanding issue-spotting exams or creating outlines. Please let me know, thanks! It seems like all US Law exams are issue spotting exams (from what I have been hearing) is this true for UK as well?
I’ve only seen a few UK exams. Some of the questions are issue spotters. Regardless, the approach you learn here will help you become a critical thinker.
On your Notes at a glance as in you example of a Business Assent, Benefit and Control, would you reference the page number of the Study Outline that would have these definitions for fast referencing on look up?
I wouldn’t, but do what helps you prepare for an exam.
How do I write a study outline?
Just a document with the law. No case facts or hypos from class.
