- Back in 2016 Rolls-Royce launched ‘Black Badge’. Wanting a new, slightly rebellious strand to youth things up a bit, Black Badge offers Rollers (it’s been available on everything apart from Phantom so far) more performance and luxury but in a contemporary darkened aesthetic. Now there’s a new one: the 2022 Ghost Black Badge. So Top Gear decided to spec the blackest Rolls-Royce ever, then take it on a journey through darkness. As there’s more to black than being the opposite of white. As Top Gear Magazine’s Head of Content, Rowan Horncastle, will explain.

@@t1995roger10 and if it isn't available which it is as I've been to rolls royce and messed around with the customization. You can simply order one and they will make it for you. There is no such thing as "Not available " in a rolls royce

I was actually really impressed hearing it can do 0-60 in 4.5seconds. That's really impressive for a car that weight.

Old top is Crap.
Rolls Royce are pretty bespoke, there is not much they cannot do for the right price. I'm surprised they can not get a car painted Vanta Black.
Let's face it BMW and Mercedes Benz have been using Vanta Black on their indicators for years.
The Vanta Black guy said it can be done, for north of six figures, so... give them a million quid and you can have a VB RR.
And then you have to keep it clean, somehow...
Also, nice burn on the BMW and Merc drivers, subtle - I like it :)
@@DethLok If you can afford a bespoke Rolls Royce you can afford a million dollars for the paint. I on the other hand don't think I will be painting my 1991 Honda Prelude with Vanta Black any time soon.

I don't mind a full black car or something, or have black detailing for styling purposes, but often times i think it's kind of a shame to lose the shiny emblems over the black ones, in my opinion of course.
Whenever i see an Audi or Mercedes with the black logos, to me it just looks less pretty and less cool, even though they're supposed to be cool, but i guess at 38 i am part of the old generation, stats mattered to me when i was a teen/early 20s.
I've always preferred style over function (Countach is my favorite design), but i am not specifically on board with the black editions craze.

I remember reading a couple of years back, there was another black developed which absorbs more light than Vanta does.

Vantablack is fascinating. The first guy ended up copyrighting it so no one else could use it. Annoyingly I've forgotten the name, Stemple, I think, created his own version and there's a policy that it's for everyone except that guy lol.
I've had some for a couple of years. It's cool to play with at least.

I'm not a fan of that purple coloring that the windshields reflecting. They should tint down the windshield a bit with black tint.
