I drove a Rolls Royce as a bellman in college. I can say it was one of the most awe-inspiring experiences I’ve had behind the wheel… not because I found myself in one, but because of the way it functioned. While doing that job, I drove almost every supercar you can imagine and nothing else compares. The thing that strikes you first is how it goes into gear. Actually, it doesn’t. I wasn’t sure I was in drive because there was no click or lurch as the transmission engaged. It just… was in gear. As you hit the gas, it doesn’t jerk or anything… it just glides. And it’s so true that you do not feel any bumps or potholes. You feel like you are floating. I was so in awe of the engineering and how they were able to accomplish this in the suspension on such a heavy car. The video discusses sensory deprivation and I can completely understand this. I’m not sure I would ever own one because I like the experience of driving and in certain circumstances it’s crucial to feel the road. It’s certainly an experience I’ll never forget.
They need to hire you just so you could that story just like that word for word everywhere you go cz I swear for a second if I closed my eyes it felt like I was a passenger just gliding along
My hotel used to own a 1974 Rolls. We did quite well for ourselves $$ shuffling around guest.

I was offered a 1967 Rolls-Royce about 20 years ago. The engine needed a lot of work but the interior was in amazing shape, all handmade red leather seats and real burled walnut dashboard. But the thing I remember the most was turning on the ignition and feeling the car’s hydraulic system engage, like an airplane about to take off.
It would have cost many times more to repair it than the asking price, so I said no. But now I sort of regret it. It could have been the ultimate weekend hobby project.
it sucks because you could honestly throw any good smooth running engine in that with the right tools and then boom you have a flawless little rolls royce
@@Septagrim well, unfortunately, Rolls-Royce is made in such a way that you couldn’t put just any engine in there. It really is built like an airplane more than like a car. So all of these conversion projects that people are doing, where they put an electric engine into an old car, are probably not going to work with a Rolls-Royce. Which is too bad, because, as you say, it would be amazing!

I saw on another RUclips video a guy who bought a Rolls Royce Phantom and broke down in the middle of nowhere. He called some local tow company to take him to a garage. The people in the garage diagnosed the issue but didn't have the part and called Rolls Royce. Rolls Royce sent a chopper with a couple technicians and a new part to replace it free of charge. Now that's first class service.

These aren’t super cars man, they’re luxury cars. They’re only fast in a straight line but handle like boats on curves because they’re so heavy. GT3 RS, AMG black, Aventadors, and MCClaren 720’s are supercars. And then you have Hypercars which aren’t as fast as supercars on an actual track, but hit the fastest speeds, like Bugatti Chiron’s/ Veyron, Jesko, Agera RS, Speedtail.
Supercars just look squished. They look tacky and make awful noises. If you want no luxury and bad noises, but fast speed, buy a supercar. If you want to relax, have prestige, be instantly recognised, buy a rolls royce.

I spent a week working on the Rolls Royce production line for "work experience" when I was at school in the early 90s. They are definitely built like no other car on Earth, but they did let me attach the brake cables to a couple of cars so probably avoid buying any built in that period! Every single car comes with it's own spec sheet as they are all individually specced - but one day I remember we had 8 or so identical cars come down the line, turned out it was a bulk order from some sheikh in Dubai.
There’s a parallel between the automotive and financial worlds. Millionaires tend to flaunt their wealth, while billionaires do not. Nearly every manufacturer today prides itself on having the biggest and best screens in a car. But if you look at truly top tier marks like Rolls-Royce, and Bugatti, they have little to no technology in the cabin. Technology is completely subservient to the character of the car. They don’t even have glass roofs. They’re rather standard cars with the emphasis on quality coach building. That’s what luxury is; timelessness.

I used to valet at a luxury hotel in Los Angeles and the times we got Rolls-Royce was always amazing. The cars were truly luxurious to drive.

Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year.
Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire.

Diamond dust that they used is very cheap. Bigger the diamond, costlier it is. Small particles are relatively inexpensive.
It's incredible as much time as they span in the exterior you would think the safety features would be above and beyond all other vehicles.

I have a friend in his 80's who does terrain like ink drawings with hundreds of fine ink lines just a line away from each other. His only problem, he does it at a cafe.
One mistake and he is at a debt of $300k

That has to be the coolest, but most stressful job, probably why only he can do it. He probably went from some paint shop to that job and thinks he pulled the wool over the eyes of management. I'm blown away by the craftsmanship, of course, it's second to none. I also imagine how many people can afford one that isn't a prince, that pulled their wealth out of the ground. It certainly isn't someone that worked their ass off, and earned their money an hour at a time. 1000 diamonds only sounds expensive. I doubt they crushed vvs but rather diamonds that could not be used for jewelry so they are cheap to buy in bulks.
Try to change your perspective. Someone paid an enormous sum of money to have shiny rocks crushed into sand and stuck on a bit of metal. Less impressive from that point of view.
@@CausticLemons7 Not really, diamonds are cheap and those so small, or so deficient have no value other than abrasives. Producing a metallic or pearl paint is actually far more impressive. This is just bullshit by a company that has always revelled in myths. I know I have two of their cars.

I used to work in a seat belt factory in Carlisle ( Kangols/Breed UK). Every few months they would do work for RR, I assembled the seat belts, the parts came in as a kit in a mahogany box stamped with the RR logo, all the machines had to be cleaned down first, and even the stamps for putting the build date inside parts were bespoke to them. If that doesn't sound luxurious enough, the last set I worked on were sent to Nepal after us, to have God knows what done to them! Trust me, they do not skimp on a single detail.
To own both the Phantom & Wraith would be incredible. To own a mansion and drive way that compliments them, would be a dream come true.

RR's are cheapest after maybe 15-20 years, then they start going up in price again. But when you buy a Rolls Royce, it will generally outlive you and per year, it's pretty cheap.
As for the pinstriping, it reminds me that Picasso's entry piece, submitted to get into art college, was a circle, perfect, drawn freehand.
I like how almost everyone in the comment understands that the prices are justifiable, these vehicles are such class its higher than any other brand. Sure sometimes the prices seem a little high but it's always undeniable quality.
