Strange, isn't it? We've spent years cheering on British drivers in F1, following their seasons with interest to the point of distraction, yet that pales into insignificance compared to this. This whole 'access all areas' with someone we've all become familiar with, who's relatable, has no airs or graces or special privileges, offers a whole new level of investment in the sport. With the added bonus of being introduced to the BritCar formula which in itself is very entertaining. I'm enjoying this immensely - beaming ear to ear; with life having been turned upside down lately, this is a real tonic. Long may this continue...

@@21dazzer It's funny - I'm actually American, so I haven't had many F1 guys to root for in my time. We tend to adopt anyone who moved there from indycar - so Michael Andretti of course, Jacques Villeneuve, JPM, and my personal hero, Alex Zanardi. But it's interesting what you said, that even with guys like Lewis and Jensen and now young guys like Lando or Russell to root for, Jimmer's journey, for those who follow him, is still bigger for you.
But come on, how can you help but root for a guy who pumps his fist at a successful practice stint! That's what any sports fan wants - someone who's both talented AND humble enough to be happy to be there. And then the fact that his teammate is an absolute delight of a human being? You'd have to be cold indeed to not care.
Now I just need to find a way to stream the races live here in the states...

I mean c'mon he's just nicest guy and what a journey, how couldn't you root for him. And we get to see it so up-close! Smash 'em Jimmy!

I used to race in the UK&I Skip Barber series (“Monday Night Skippys”) on iRacing. I was lucky enough to win the championship a few times and was invited to a private track day at Rockingham Raceway. Some of the ex-racing drivers made smarmy comments when I answered I don’t have real world racing experience, just sim racing, “huh, you can’t press the reset button here son!”... “If you stick it in the wall, it’ll hurt for real”...and all of that. At the end of the day I was lapping just as fast as they were.
People don’t realise that sim racing is directly relevant to the real world. It’s the ONLY “game” where the skill you learn is directly transferable to the real world. When you say you’ve driven in a sim, they automatically think “button bashing video game”...most have no idea!

Just loving watching you progress, the confidence, it's amazing to see. Also to take in the detailed instructions from Gordie, and go out onto the track and keep progressing with every lap, that's incredible, would have been so easy to bin it,but you pulled it off with real quality driving. All the best for the 12th, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you 🏁🍾👍

I'm absolutely loving these real life content as much as enjoyed your coke 600 stream. And every now and then a slightly less serious video like simrig roasting is also entertaining after a hard day at work. So just keep it the way it is at the moment Jimmer !

Managed to get Assetto Corsa because you mentioned the Praga R1 is in it. Not an R1T or R1R, but it's close enough. Honestly, I think it's now my favorite race car. It's not LMP1 or F1 levels of top speed and acceleration, but it goes into the corners so beautifully that I can just fling it into a turn. Much love, Jim. Wish I could be right there with you on the track.
