A pretty cool few days racing mate. Great banter and a bit of cool racing to boot. Got to say the way you interacted with your fans that turn up was quite humbling. Loved their reactions with the way you spoke to them and a even better reaction when I gave the a GT Radial goodie bag 😎
It's a great track with loads of history. I'm fortunate to live 20mins away and earlier this year finally got the chance to rag around the place in an M4 on a track day. It was amazing!!
I've said it before, as have many others, but Jimmy would make an excellent race announcer. I'd love to hear him commentating on an F2 race or something.
That move at Druids was definitely risky, you're depending on the guy seeing you coming and if he doesn't... well, that happens. Could have been nasty.
Doesn't this describe like every overtake ever. I kinda have to agree that the speed difference needs to be bigger so the overtake feels inevitable rather than a barge through
13:38 Honestly Jimmy, here where you explain your first experience with the Fun Cup car, i see you as a proper race car driver. The way you look is like you been racing for years. Hopefully you will be able to race for many years ahead!
i echo this sentiment. i pray you get signed to a major GT team and make a run at Le Mans, Spa or Bathurst for plenty of seasons! you are the man, Jimmy. truly an inspiration!
Imo the move with the contact would have been perfectly fine into any hard braking zone but into druids I definitely think it was optimistic with the overlap, thats just my two cents anyway. Awesome video and insight into racing Jimmy! Looking mighty quick now too
Rule of thumb to help clear up the fringe situations: Make sure the other guy see's you otherwise expect he doesnt. Finishing the race is always better than being technically correct with a crumpled racecar. If youre struggling to get a move done, leave a bit of room and drive into it through the apex and out to help get a run. With the right timing youre on their bumper at the exit and pull out just after. Be careful with the pinching of your exits. Showing a nose on the inside looking for a pass on the exit phase just hurts your run down the next straight. Use all the track and work on that timing, its tricky. Nice vid and nice drive
I love the structure and style of these videos Jimmy! Gives me butterfly’s watching every second; feels like I’m AT the race track, hanging out in the garage. :)
11:20 it's Martin Gibson in that car. He's currently sitting p2 in the British truck racing championship (very close to p1) . He's used to small contact like that!
My first comment on this channel was hate. I was playing f1 2019 on controller and was looking videos about it when I found Jimmy's videos. Never saw sim racing like this before. I thought what kind of nerd wears racing clothes and sits at home playing on a fake wheel. 2 years later I got my own rim playing mainly acc and trying to become a sim racer like Jim. Thats life ;) amazing drive Jim crazy how far you have come
The contact around 11mins in was probably 60/40 you to blame. I think its incredibly difficult to judge, but it looks like even down the inside with the space you had, the rear end got loose and you were correcting left to keep it on track which sent you into the side of the other car (which was closing up, but didn't completely cut you off). Great racing though. I wouldn't have the nerve to do this! And great of you to show incidents and invite views to learn from :)
