To be fair you really aren’t forced to buy the car so it’s an option. Now I do agree that it would be nice for the Y to bring this as a standard feature instead of having to buy an aftermarket part.
If Tesla or other car companies install shades like this, the price and time for making the car will go up. If people want it, they should buy and install it themselves.
@@newdrew2744it's probably reasonable for the manufacturer to offer the option of the shade. IMO, I think many would go for it. (T)esla just needs to see the demand. Not unlike the custom wraps that T has adopted to offer at the dealer. They saw the demand in the aftermarket, and the coin it can bring in. If these gain traction, T will jump in, B/C they can do it at the assembly point for pennies on the dollar compared to the aftermarket segment.
The glass does a good job at blocking heat and has maximum exposure for a near-convertible experience. You'll notice a lot of glass area is permanently covered with this add-on to fit all the mechanical parts.
The only EV I’ve seen equipped with one of these is the IONIQ 5 limited trim. I don’t know why they aren’t in Tesla’s because my head was cooking during the summer time lol 😂
Never understood the Tesla glass roof covers. I live in Vegas where it gets 120°and I don’t think it gets any hotter inside the car than any other car.
I don’t understand why some of the moon roof or full length sunroof cars have no shades in them. Try driving in texas during the hot summer days, the tented window doesn’t help.
live in SE Texas where it was over 100 everyday this summer and I've never felt any heat or a need for a sunshade. I could however see this as being a requirement say in NM, Colorado and any other high altitude states or possibly in desert states like nevada or arizona
People that don’t know, these cars get BLISTERING hot when left in the sun for a couple of hours in the heat… esp with black interior… this should be a requirement
I think it should come standard, but tend to agree that it’s not really need it. I live in Miami and it gets smoking hot down here. I simply turn the air on 10 min before leaving and it’s not a nonissue when I get to the car.
@@whattheschmidt well my pale skin can't handle the sun thats why I ride around in tinted cars and never use my sunroof. I got a corvette with a glass roof and I replaced it with a normal roof after getting cooked in traffic.
@ltwargssf I'm probably paler than you lol. I tinted my windows on all my vehicles in my lifetime. The reason it doesn't matter to me is I just turn the climate on from my phone 2-3 min before getting in the car.
@@whattheschmidt Can you turn off the sun from your phone? It's a nice gimmick but it doesn't solve the issue with getting sun beams cooking your head. Ac is just a band aid but some like it that way which is why they make convertibles for maximum sun rays.
@ltwargssf the roof blocks most of the UV, I can't find the exact % but it sounds like possibly 98%. If it didn't, my bald spot would be very burned in the summer...
This is perfect. If anybody say this is extra, they are stupid. It’s literally what all Tesla should have. At least give me a option to have it open or close the sun be beaming down on your head.
That's great that tesla did this. Now they need to make EVs that can fully charge from 0 to 100 percent in 7 minutes or less and offers a range of atleast 500 miles. When they come out with this, Now we're talkin! That's when I'll buy one.
What in the world is the point of this? If it’s hot just run the AC through the app before getting inside. The glass roof is heavily tinted so your head doesn’t feel hot being near it. This product solves a problem that doesn’t exist to begin with LMAO
My model 3 was baking my skull in Texas. I am taller than average so my head is closer to the sun roof. Tinting the sun roof made it tolerable. I also tinted the windshield which helped cut the heat down.
All cars that have a glass panel on the roof need to include something like this. They shouldn’t just force you to be stuck with a giant glass roof
To be fair you really aren’t forced to buy the car so it’s an option.
Now I do agree that it would be nice for the Y to bring this as a standard feature instead of having to buy an aftermarket part.
I heard that the glass roof reacts to uv light and darkens itself, so it's not "so basic"

Honestly all tesla models should have this
Agreed, at least as a reasonably priced dealer installed option, for those that aren't DIY fans.
Nah
@@a4tay so u would want to have the sun shine right above you’re head?
@@Ellinore6I have Model Y and have taken road trips on a hot day in late summer. No problems with sun or heat.
@@a4tay Well you are good with heat then
Looks pretty good. They’ve actually been able to make it look like it belongs there and not just a poor afterthought.
I remember when all cars had shades as standard with any sunroofs.
Elon Musk watching this like "call the hit man"
I can’t believe they don’t have this standard. Cars have had sunshades with their tinted sunroofs ever since glass in the roof became an option
How does it affect side airbags? The headliner flexes out the way as they trigger
That’s actually pretty sweet👌 it matches the factory headliner perfectly

Sweet 😋 this should have been factory b y tesla like Moon roof shade cover tesla should consider that for future upgrades
This is absolutely needed in Texas
Nice
I NEED THIS
Great !!!!
Can you please provide link or at least name and trademarks ?
Description section is empty
Thanks
I know this is 2 months old but I have to point out that the fourth word said in this video is "Hansshow" where's he's saying the name of the brand
@@m4ciejmoskala Thank you very much for your help 😃👍👏
Ugh i wish this existed for the model 3
Need this for sure, hate having to manually take my roof cover on and off.
Prides on being efficient and yet, Tesla forgot they built a greenhouse on wheels.
Nice job
I like this shade just wish the bezel was more narrow to retain the giant glass effect. But overall I like and would do this mod
What kind of hit to head room are you taking? Looks nice and OEM
Link to buy?
Actually cool. I would get that and not tint the top glass.
Hi @TeslaFlex
Does it work with the 16 Volt system too?
I’m interested in this item.what is the website?
This might be a dump question but can you remove the tint from the glass roof.
Are sun shades on full glass roofs not standard? Our subaru ascent has a built in one....
Tag Elon in it I’m sure they’ll make a revision for this as a trim option.
Can you add an automatic frunk to the model y?
Where can I get one.
Chevy bolt EUV has this from the factory
The reason the burn 🤣
Does it have protection from huge ice rain stones
Talk to a tint pro. Ceramics Baby!! I use it on the front windshield too. Black car, very comfortable, less AC use even in 120°
And when it lighting out so you don’t get struck
Tesla should be taking notes on this.
They are a great company but they can do better in some parts
The people that says is so extra are just jealous! Enjoy your car brother!
I wish my model 3 had this , I really don’t like the glass roof
How did the buttons get installed?
Nvm found out it's part of the sun shade assembly lol
This might be included in the Juniper Update 👀👀
I got rid of my Tesla. But if I didn't I would have installed this. It got way to damn hot in the Y.
Well glass roof need insulation or it will become a magnifying glass

🎉🙌
How much
Honestly the roof is so tinted that most of the heat comes from the windshield and windows.

Even in Colorado it wasn't that bad when I had a Tesla and I had it during the 2 hottest years in Denver record so far.
People that don’t know, these cars get BLISTERING hot when left in the sun for a couple of hours in the heat… esp with black interior… this should be a requirement
Even when it is 30 degrees plus and the sun is really strong, I just precondition the car and you don’t notice it at all. Pointless in my opinion.
I think it should come standard, but tend to agree that it’s not really need it. I live in Miami and it gets smoking hot down here. I simply turn the air on 10 min before leaving and it’s not a nonissue when I get to the car.
Well if you want to conserve battery use - this might just cool down your car a little quicker and use less battery when you turn on precondition
@@gsingh2it uses practically 0% battery to precon the car for 2 mins
link to sunshade?
Search for “Hansshow Sunshade” and it will come up. Can’t put link because yt will delete comment
This why all them Tesla’s be burning down
Should be on all Tesla's
That will void my warranty !
I live in the uk and so me and my model 3 should be fine it’s always cold..
Same I just cleaned my car today and I bet you it's going to rain tonight 😂😭
I know right
Lmao back to my bmw
You make it look simple to install so I assume you would only charge me about $50 for this simple installation .
I’d never do this to my teslas .. ever
But thats I have mine and you have yours 😂
All that work instead of just getting tinted glass panel
Looks messy,i dont want to ruin the simplicity of tesla.
This should have been STANDARD from the factory. And actually they should have a sunroof as optional. I know efficiency blah blah whatever 🙄🙄
Screw glass roofs, I don't want to get cooked by the sun
Zeo issues here with my Y. But the hottest it gets in Michigan is about 90F.
