    I love how EVERY single video I see of Paul playing he looks like he is having the best time he's ever had in his life.
    This man is motivation to play embodied. So rad.

    The medley is pretty much all eras of Paul's career in order!
    Racer X:
    0:52 Street Lethal
    2:14 Into The Night
    2:51 Blowing Up The Radio
    4:50 Scarified
    Mr. Big:
    7:37 Take A Walk
    8:21 Anything For You
    9:04 Daddy, Brother, Lover...
    10:26 Green-Tinted Sixties Mind
    11:39 Nothing But Love
    12:49 A Little Too Loose
    Solo stuff:
    13:12 Champagne (from Paul's "King Of Clubs" album - thanks qdaveq for reminding me of this!)
    13:25 Seven Impossible Days (I think Paul wrote this for his solo album but it somehow ended up on Mr. Big's the best of)
    13:41 Down To Mexico
    14:50 Gilberto Concerto
    14:55 Individually Twisted
    15:57 Girls Watching (Blues Power album!)
    More Racer X:
    16:17 Snakebyte
    16:58 Fire Of Rock
    More solo stuff:
    18:44 Bliss (!!!)
    21:17 I Like Rock
    Even more Racer X (seriously, Jeff should've been there at this point :D )
    21:47 Superheroes
    22:23 Viking Kong
    Even more solo stuff:
    23:38 Boku No Atama
    24:18 Spaceship One
    And many, many more (Get Out Of My Yard, 3 e's for Edward, Hurry Up, Some United States stuff, SFBADR, Eudaimonia Overture, Fuzz Universe, Vibrato etc.).
    What an "opening" to a show!

    I used to see Racer X all the time in LA when I was a teenager. Paul still has the most unbelievable picking hand of any player I've ever seen, and a totally unique tone and feel that's (at least to me) as instantly recognizable as Yngwie, that other guy who plays incredibly quick, yet naturally. :P

    • @gfrozin
      @gfrozin 7 лет назад

      That's probably a custom made PGM, I don't see it on Ibanez's catalog. I know Ibanez made some Mikro guitars with a PGM look so Paul could take them on his travels. I don't think they're for sale, though.

    • @NowakP
      @NowakP 7 лет назад

      It's a new model, I think Paul was showing it off early this year/late last year. It might make it into production (it's basically a PGM 80P but H-H)

    • @NowakP
      @NowakP 7 лет назад +4

      More specifically it's the PolyTuner clip on. One of the most accurate (if not THE most accurate) clip-on tuners on the market right now. It allows you to tune your guitar by banging on all the strings at once (lower accuracy) or with a strobe tuner (high accuracy).
      I have two of these bad boys myself, they are that awesome.

      They’re both great but I think Gilbert is the most dynamic player I’ve ever seen. He doesn’t just play the same speed stuff over and over. He can, but he mixes it up and plays every style imaginable perfectly. Nothing taken away from Vai. I don’t think among these top guys anyone is more talented or better because they’re all gifted and can play any of one another’s songs. I just like Gilbert’s variety and creativity better than anyone else out there.

      ***** Throughout the years, so far I only saw him used whammy bar like 4 times. He's not into it cause it doesn't fit his way of playing and the whammy bar just gets in the way while he's playing. Even the treble switch and knobs makes him uncomfortable. He said it on the video of "PGM-Fireman" in the making. He still rocks with or without it. He's Paul. :D

    Good technical skills but a clear lack of feelings. His classical moves are Great but perhaps due to my sound ! s better mixing.. why not play more of these classical moves and forget all these boring power chords. I wonder why.

    • @JohnMegaton2062
      @JohnMegaton2062 Год назад

      He has range to play everything not just the same thing repeatedly. I get bored hearing speed nonstop. It wears the ear out like eating ice cream nonstop. It’s good for a while, even a big portion, but I don’t want to eat it for two hours nonstop. His variety is what I like best over the other greats.
