Paul Gilbert is just not talked about enough in the guitar community. That blows my mind. Paul should be on the most influential guitarist list. One of the best of all time.
He´s more interesting than Malmsteen, Vai, Satriani, etc by FAR. He´s a very good player, he can play damm fast, but he´s also a very inteligent and gifted musician.
What I admire it’s his confidence in playing some shredding phrases with so little gain and sustain. This is a minefield where every little imprecision shows up as this is the case. Never heard a sloppier performance by him. But he seems to not give a shit and that’s what it makes him a true legend!
He doesn't have time to sit and practice 8 hours a day like in the 90s. I don't have time to listen to mindless shredding like back then either. It is a win win. Focus on MUSIC, not technique.
Don’t think Paul’s got softer think he’s just maturing and ultimately playing what he wants! When he was younger it’s actually scary how good he was and now it’s just a pleasure to see the guy still doing his thing. ❤
Time goes very fast, so fast that I'm already old))) I grew up just on the music of such as Paul, Yngwie, Joe, Steve, Greg, Frank, Alan, and others. Many thanks to these great musicians for the right direction in musical life !!!)❤️
😋😎🤠👾💯💥👋same im 52 now grew up with beatles all folk grps then in 1990s was fusion music spyro gyra blues then 1995 got into vai yngwie that affected me to hear more i listen to evh n gilbert kinda late lo like 8yrs haha great expanse of music acquired i have for the concept as well ,stil cant speed like gilbert but can do sweeps , stay true to rock cheers bro
ive heard he's suffering from hearing loss and has to wear hearing aid now. i think thats the reason he dropped some mojo in his tone. just speculating
I can't believe I've been liking this stupid person with no historical awareness for the past 30 years. Do you know the history of the East at that time? Playing the Japanese war criminal flag symbol on the guitar. What would you do if something like that happened in your home country, the United States?
Grandioso espectacular y maravilloso la ejecución de la Guitarra por el Maestro Paul Gilbert, espero un gran disco superior y mas inspirado para este 2023
Yes I agree, I picked up on this too… it sounds weak and doesn’t hit me emotionally. I know he wants to reinvent himself with a more soulful tone but the laidback style doesn’t create the impact I like. It sounds to fuzzy, wishywashy and padded. Hey he’s one of the best but I do love the old PG sound.
Wow saya baru saja menemukan chanel sebagus ini, im from indonesian dan saya mencari chanel live musik yang bukan berdurasi hanya sesaat namun saya mencari yang berdurasi panjang.. saya menikmatinya..😁👍
Just the fact that he took Paul Stanley's signature axe, turned it upside down and made it his own, is enough kudo's for me. Oh yeah, he can play okay too.😁
Mr. Paul Gilbert sometimes becomes like Jeff Beck‼️ Just such a fun to see Paul play the guitar free and joyful‼️ Well,I love this Technical Difficulties in clearer tone version‼️ O.K. Paul is still of Mr.Big‼️ I feel comfortable‼️ Well,Paul is also a super guitar player even as a slide guitar player‼️ High five with Emi‼️‼️😲😀🙌🙋🙆💃

watching Paul play is always a complete mind fu*k visually. his hands are freakishly huge. Making guitar necks look like 3/4 child size.. Im always awe struck watching his fret hand in amazement. ...as a side note referring to Paul talking about his students not knowing how to strum. As I was learning guitar I didnt have money for lessons but when I was finally good enough to be in a decent band it was as a 2nd guitarist in my cousins band. they were and still are incredible musicians. all state in high school, Berkley calliber. I learned that what you dont play is just as important as what you do play. As the "2nd guitarist I did alot of strumming. that job is sometimes more interesting and complicated then the solo work in a song...
Only PG can do these stuff....what a collaboration of scarified and the forbidden song....i have always admired him...adored him when I was three i.e early 90s not knowing the guy is a maestro of musical language....his music speaks......the one and only PG. \m/…!

To show up in a foreign country and hook up with locals to play your very complex RacerX music is bloody impressive (I imagine there was very little rehearsal for this gig)

Yes of course,to komen for u👍🏻@@derfreischutz4380
I think it’s because his compositions enter the realm where only true guitar lovers can appreciate what he’s doing with the instrument. 😊
The Best guitar of the world
I just can't get enough of Paul Gilbert. One of my all-time guitar heroes!
I know he is great, but he is dummkopf in Germany, you can see the rising sun flag on the guitar. Paul did you know what that meant?
Glad he is done with the blues and doing the thing he was born for

I wish I was that sloppy

He's mainly focused on doing his vocal slide impression thing recently, stands to reason that his scale picking chops would fall to the wayside
nice detail, most dont notice that bit.
yeah but sloppy > perfect
if you want robots go program a keyboard. these are humans and stuff.
Paul You are a Gifted Genius my Friend. Your Music Inspires me in so many Different Ways. GOD Bless You🎸🎸🎸

Agree 100%.
Favorit guitaris 🔥🔥🔥🤟🏻

PG is awesome. Aged like wine, getting better as he becomes older.
Cheers!!!
PG is still one of my all-time favorite guitarist.
I believe in thing called love riff leads to Scarified intro. So smooth. very impressive.
Man his tone sounds so good in this. Notes sound more articulate, and guitar feels less masked.
What’s impressive is he dropped the level of gain and his ear muff, PG is awesome, a true evolution of a musician, nice man and rich soul.

Paul is a treasure and the band is so tight.

This guy lives across the river from me. True.
Wow…what a guitarist😮😮😮! He played the forbidden song!!❤
I'm glad to see Paul Gilbert is fine !!
元気なポールを見れて嬉しいです!!
Man, Paul Gilbert rocks!
*He is so great ! Is like a kid, charged with much energy !* 😃
Dans la trempe du top 10 des meilleurs guitaristes au monde 😊😊👍👍
Very good, excellent technique👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷 Canavieiras Ba
Truly a guitar god😛
The bassist though!! wow! PG is my all time lead guitarist!
Wow 🎉❤
Id be in awe too much.... Mike played with him learned... Wow wow... Mind blown
Fantastic!!!!,
Paul Brandon Gilbert is an American hard rock and heavy metal guitarist. He is the co-founder of the band Mr. Big, and was also a member of Racer X
Bravo Marco
God I love this guy!
pauls about the best i ever seen..great stream
I know he is great, but he is dummkopf in Germany, you can see the rising sun flag on the guitar. Paul did you know what that meant?
Tons of gain or not, Paul is a true musician
I love how clean this is
Paul is such a amazing guitarist thank you for shari g
Awesome but I do miss Paul's older sound with more distortion. He uses very little gain now and it's a bit fizzier sounding.
Hearing problems
yea, he sounds sloppy here, which confused me.

@@SqueakyAnkle Phil Collins has them too. As well as Huey Lewis and Peter Brown(disco end 70s,now 70)
I think paul trying to reachs crunchy and dry sound
amazing..!!!
Spectacular!

I like the new sound Paul has. Mistakes are welcomed by me… everything is just too perfect now days.

Toca de maravilla. Espectacular
King of The Guitar
Metal with less gain, vintage paul!
Paul Gilbert is a terrifying guitarist. It amazing live show.
Awesome 👌 👏 👍 great
A little reverb or delay wouldn't hurt... Love Paul.
ultra agree 🤝
PG choose not to hide behind those pedals, showing his ultra precision. 😂
The best guitar player👍👍👍👍
Gilberts arrangements are so damn kool
Stairway is Heaven is Still Iconic‼️
✨🎸✨
Clear sound style with many trap🤘🤘🤘

Bravissimo 😉
10:09 is incredibly technically difficult!!
I like this a lot!!!!
Wow amazing 👍👍👍
Master!
I've never seen a bassist shred like that before
Sensacional!!...
Wonderful :)
the band did great
I'm assuming they are 2 session professionals who maybe got one rehearsal with Paul on the same day as the show.

fantastico, Paul numero 1..amazing
The Darkness!
Believe in a Thing Called Love
ダークネス弾くなんてなんか意外です!
Paul is always great. As for this video, the bass is a bit loud. Don't you think?
Loved before he played Scarified, he began with "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by the Darkness
so I heard it right! Is he fan???? I love the Darkness!!! brilliant music
Most snare drums never sound so fantastic in smaller spaces like in this case. That drum sits so fucking perfect.
Yeah, it's pretty damn good in the mix indeed!
菊水(Kikusui)‼️👍✨
ポールが元気そうで嬉しいかぎり!😊✨

Paul plays unusually impure in the rythm section
Less distortion...much clearer sound...yeah..🤘

Пол Гилберт, 23тыс просмотров и 671 лайк??? Что???
Interesting that he makes the slide playing sound as exciting a the “sheddier” stuff…! Nice…
Ohhh paulo gilberto oooohhh😂😂😂
he is using very less gain on racer x songs which can be challenging.👌🏽👌🏽
Less gain, respect
菊水(kikusui):One of the very famous Japanese SAKE. Made in Niigata prefecture, and I like it.
Pg is goat but lets give some huge respect to the Bass player very good
03:34 LZ
skill can't lie to age
Oh I wish Ibanez collaborate with KIKUSUI sake company and mass reproduce that fireman guitar 🤤
