@@DoradoFeverCompletely agree! I'm hoping ED adds even more support vehicles and objects. Starting my day off with a new BD video is a great way to start. Saw your use of this a bit in your last red flag video and thought it was very cool. Will love to install this for myself as well
Common now show us Avi / E&E / Weapons guys some love. We were the ones at the bottle a lot of the time. Not sure how many flights launched with just CC but we were always doing launch assist. Odd that you would remember doing EPU last at Luke. Unless they had changed it after 2006 when I was last there the EPU and Sec checks were the first ones done so they could spin up the INS. Referencing your comment about changing the order up later on in the video you definitely don't want to flip the order and have the INS aligning while doing either the EPU check or the Sec check. You did miss one bit and have a few out of order for the EPU check. You want to check for the EPU Gen and EPU PMG lights after you've spun it up so it is actually doing something. Checking those with the aircraft at idle and EPU off or norm it isn't running thus doesn't do any good. Also the step you completely missed was checking the FLCS power branch lights to verify they were on/EPU PMG is supplying electrical power to FLCS. Not surprising though as you didn't mess with FLCS any any level of depth. People like me did. So just a technicality here but they aren't called elevons but horizontal stabilizers. Elevons are the word for a combined aileron and elevator. The 16 has flaperons for combined flaps and aileron moves. The back is almost 100% for changing pitch although they do go slightly asymmetric for roll. Obviously the asset pack wasn't designed for a project like this in mind hence the no CC away from the aircraft holding the EPU flag up and wrong position for the CC on the FLCS checks as he is sitting so far forward on the left he cannot see what is happening on the right side of the aircraft. Very nice touch in adding in the engine whine for the CC voice. Small bits aside this was a solid run at a legit start up.
Yeah we called em "Stabs" or "Horizontal Stabs". Elevons were on the XL. Misspoke. Yep, missed the FLCS during EPU. Also forgot to check the Fuel Quantity selector test. Forgot quite a few things. Been 15 years since I was on the line and I don't have access to the real checklist anymore. Yeah, the asset pack is just a static guy. He has some animations in there for saluting, but no marshalling or anything like that. I wish there was a way to do that with this pack. I just set them up for initial launch positions. B man fire bottle and CC on knees watching JFS doors. They won't move, so I put them where they would start. When I was at Luke, we had Cc's do A and B man on launches. When I got up to the 18th, we had weapons and specs do b man a lot. Not all the time. Sometimes we were by ourselves. But it sure makes it easier when you have a Bman.
@@BogeyDope Yeah about 1/2 of my career was at Luke and I did many a launch assist. Long enough ago that it was pre shade cover days on the line. I don't recall any base where Avi/E&E/Weapons didn't do the bottle. I don't know the numbers of CC on dayshift if they could cover a portion or if we as the collective not CCs did 'em all so cannot say there. If you do some searching on the interwebs a shocking amount of data is out there for official documentation on the F-16.
Another f16 crewchief here, they standardized across the airforce for the most part, they usually do sec prior to the epu then the rest is still the same, ps never heard anyone say yaw for the rudder trim lol
Ive always said "yaw" from day one. Maybe I'm weird. Instructor in hot training said "rudder left. Rudder right.", then I went on the line and said yaw anyway.
great video, thanks for that, wonder if it works with BMS, as I do not fly DCS, ex-crew chief myself, 12 years on Tornado with RSAF with BAE {saudi`s use USAF system}
Yeah "close enough". I need a checklist. The ones I see on the forums don't have the EPU, and some have it, but not the Fuel selector test, or something else is missing.
Just a quick question - Once you download the Virtual Crew Chief V/A, does that mean saying the phrases will get the responses regardless of what module you are currently flying ? Is there a way to make it F-16C specific and disabling at other times within V/A ( other than not saying the trigger commands of course 🙂) ?
Unfortunately, I do not have the technical expertise to do what the VAICOM Developers did where they are able to directly receive DCS live data to determine things like that and automate it. I reached out to them about doing some sort of integration into VAICOM to give that experience, but never got a response. So, this is simply a audible response to voice commands. It is unable to tell what module you are flying. This is designed to be an F-16 Crew Chief only.
@@BogeyDope 👍Me neither. Thanks for the clarification on that. Just having a better read at the Voice Attack manual and it mentions something about profiles and swopping profiles over 'on the fly' so possibly it's in there already ? I need to have a better read. Thanks for getting back.

Outstanding. That's awesome.
Now I just need to learn the full startup 😂
now we need the same for all other aicrafts!
Excellent work BD!! So cool.
Great video! Thanks.
Awesome content. Thank you so much brother ❤
Always wondered what workin a launch was like on the fighter side. Seems a lot more fun... less snacks from aircrew though.
"chow" meaning smashing 4 expired poptarts and a Rip-IT before the IFE calls over the radio.
This is DOPE BOGEY!!! Thank you!😁
Definitely needs a version for the hornet!
@@BogeyDope I'll try it next time I launch 🤙
great video, thanks for that, wonder if it works with BMS, as I do not fly DCS, ex-crew chief myself, 12 years on Tornado with RSAF with BAE {saudi`s use USAF system}
It's just a audio response to a verbal command. It will work with anything with an F-16. MSFS, BMS, etc.
We saw them alot at Ramstein
Pretty good, close enough for sure. 🤙
Yeah "close enough". I need a checklist. The ones I see on the forums don't have the EPU, and some have it, but not the Fuel selector test, or something else is missing.
@@BogeyDope thats the fun part, there is a checklist but no two pilots do it the same way
True.@@Carbon_715
This makes me sad, I miss my jet now. I was a tanker CC on the KC-135 @McConnell. Well mostly @ Al Udeid lol😂 but I miss them sooo much.
OOOOOOOOOOOOO I'll take it!!!!!!
Viper Crew Chief here too.
This is absolutely fantastic! How did you record the radio effect when you're describing things in the video?
I use voicemod and a custom profile I created.
