  • Spent the night in a not so quiet industrial area and was pounded with 94mm of rain, making this day perfect for waterfall hunting.
The day started off in Ku-ring-gai National Park to look at the Upper Gledshill Falls followed by a short trip down to Duckholes picnic area and a walk/rock climbing session to the Lower falls.
A quick trip past McCarr's Creek Reserve and then on to Irrawong Waterfall in North Narrabeen. I wanted to follow the walking track to the top of these falls, but the bridge was washed away. Not wanting to risk jumping the creek while carrying all my electronic gear, I drove to the other end of the track in Ingleside Park, Ingleside.
After visiting the top of the falls, I started following the creek up the mountain and found several more falls, the ones on the branch to the left were huge.
Keep an ear open for some of my vanlifer tips, recommendations and general experiences throughout the video.
    About me:
My name's Jason. I worked as Mechanical Engineer until mid 2023 when I was made redundant. Never one to miss an opportunity to have more fun in my life, I decided to move out of my house and started living full time in my self converted Ford Transit campervan. I pass my days mountain biking, bush walking and generally exploring the beautiful natural attractions that Australia has to offer.

Absolutely beautiful scenery. Sure appreciate the effort you make to get beautiful shots in such terrible weather conditions.

It always amazes me to learn what hidden gems are about even right in the middle of the suburbs in Sydney. And it's good to see you adhering to regulations and laws (ie. not staying/camping when signs says not allowed etc), and not be part of the problem. Respect. ✊

Thanks mate. I do my best to follow the rules, but most of all I just try not to annoy anyone 😁

You do a wonderful job talking us through your journeys Jason. Well done! We might see you on the road some day. We're from Qld and every spare moment we get we travel through the east coast of NSW, free camping too. We reckon it was the best thing we ever did, get a van and start travelling this beautiful country.
If you're one of those people who's be thinking about getting a van, I cannot recommend it enough. Do it!
    Safe travels.

Spectaular waterfalls. I was Wow- ing and whoa-ing 😁 Amazing isn't it that it's so close to suburbia and really, the city. I never knew those waterfalls existed and I lived Narrabeen, Collaroy, Newport, Avalon for about 8 years! Kicking myself I never joined the bushwalking group back in the early 80s haha. So I'll live this through you and your videos.
Thank you for your videos, you do have a knack for it.

Just incredible, aren't they! I wonder how many people living in that area have no idea what's there. Not easy to get to though.
And thanks for the encouragement. Knowing people enjoy the videos makes it worthwhile 😊

@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces Where I live, I've mentioned the big lake 15 minutes drive from here. Always shocks me people who have lived here (relocated) for 15 years or more, don't know it's there. Much like your waterfalls I guess. Yes, keep doing the videos, it's wonderful for us guys and also a good way for you to look back on.

That sounds cool! I was up there a few weeks ago in the heavy rain too. They're always their best when it pouring down.
