So sad - those townhouses were very much usable. It would be nice if they salvaged as much as they can from each of them. Nice fireplaces, wood railings, doors, and kitchen cabinets. I've lived in two townhouses and believe me they weren't half as nice as those were. Our disposable society at work. Great video Noah, thanks a little different.
I saw these being built. They’re located east off Bayview Avenue, one street south of Broadway Avenue. They are much nicer from the outside than inside. They back onto a gas bar, which isn’t the best, and Bayview is very busy (as you can hear in the back yards), so it is an odd location for “luxury townhouses”. In fact, these are semi-detached homes, not townhouses. The older, single-family houses across the street have recently been demolished to make way for a condo, and the very popular Sunnybrook Plaza is long gone. This entire section of Leaside is being “densified” because the Bayview station for the new Crosstown subway line is a block away. Were these homes updated, and still inhabited, I imagine they could fetch somewhere between $2.5 -3M in our depressed market. They are much more marketable right now than condos, for which there’s no interest.
Hey Noah, I liked the idea of the townhouse tour. In fact that first townhouse was pretty nice and it did have an oven, by the way you even opened it. Check your footage. If that really was 2700 ft.² I would say that’s more than a starter home. I’d be happy to live there after fixing it up.
lol ya we were like yelling at him, dude you opened it… and also 2 bathtubs… but it’s all good if we were with him we would bug him just he same. We love your videos Noah.
The corner unit did have an oven, you even opened it as I noticed how dirty it was. It was right when you walked into the kitchen, same oven as this one. The corner unit wasnt well looked after that is why you get the impression this one is more exspensive.
We can Imagine the quality of the (development) that is going to replace it - Post 2020 Architecture is not a term that is used to describe new apartment builds anymore.
Development Is What Is Known As Progress.... Progress In This Regards Blows Considering These Townhouses Are So Nice... And Older Homes Are A Gateway To The Past And A Bit Of History In Modern Times.... Where I Live, Things Are Always Getting Torn Down, For Supposedly Something Newer.... Newer Isn't Always Better....
Really hope the people took the developers for everything they had. Too nice. My favorite is the 2nd one. Nice staircases and kitchens. Been fun Noah, enjoyed the tour. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
New Sub here! Just started watching and that first townhouse is very nice. Just needed a little updating. And the oven you looked at. It was a wall oven. And the stove was electric. Shame they are tearing them down.
This makes me incredibly angry!! Tearing down something to replace it with the same thing is ridiculous!! There is NOTHING wrong with this place. Couldnt go past 5 minute mark!
The socialist/communists running the show up there want for everyone in stack and pack shoeboxes on top one of another in "state of the art" modern facilities with all of the latest updated surveillance technology.. the overlords will spend a fortune on all that spyware but skimp on the building and its materials.
Hello Mr. Noah 😀👋! You are remarkable in your videoing, my friend ❤, you know what we want to see, you are PHENOMENAL! I liked the last townhouse the best. Thank you for sharing! Your friend, Didi, 🌹🤗🤗😀👋
There’s even apartments here that people were told they needed to leave because they were renovating the whole building. People were told to vacate in some of the new apartment buildings, because they weren’t earthquake safe.
I was laughing when you were looking at the telephone thought it was a gag. No, It's a real phone and it was met mostly for people with bad eyesight. Most townhouses that were built in the '90s. Just used regular and cheap building materials just to sell the homes. The layout to the second home looks nicer than the first in my opinion. The space in the kitchen is huge. I like when you say oh this microwave looks ancient😂😂 but as the saying goes, why fix it if it's not broken? Yeah it is interesting to see the mail slot on the garage door. Never seen one like that before. At least not in Canada😂😂 most of the townhouses were owned by someone but they could do what they choose with them if they wanted to rent them. That hallway closet that's at the top of the stairs to the bedrooms seems a little weird where it is. Those are nice size rooms for kids rooms The mirror wouldn't be that bad to clean cuz you don't clean the whole entire thing😂😂 I think the reason why most people don't see skylights anymore is cuz they leak too much cost more in the long run to keep putting in new ones. I do have to agree with you when it comes to the mirrors in the kitchen. Yes, it would be hard to clean with the grease and all that. Yuck. Again you make me laugh. The covered thing outside is called the pergola😂😂 The people that work at the post office are paid to deliver mail. They don't care where it goes as long as it gets to where they're supposed to. So if the place is empty that's not their problem. I do not like the third house at all. They don't have that big closet at the top of the stairs like the other one did. That's for sure You're just saying that the house might have been last lived in in 2023 but it's now 2024 but why are we watching it in 2025? The fourth house I like the color of the wood. It's darker than the others. The others are all blonde wood. I think the little desk thing or whatever is to put your keys on and stuff in your phone but I could be long near the bathroom on the first floor. Wow! Look at the backsplash in the kitchen on the fourth house. In the middle of the stove there is a vent on the stove itself. I find there's too much going on in that kitchen, the fireplace and then you got another display on the other wall. That's just too much. Those crutches are old just by the rubber handle and under arm thing. Yeah that red bedroom is bold. Yuck! This house though seems to be a lot cleaner than the others for sure. Thank you very much for your exploration. That was neat. You know what my choice is😂😂 anywho, thanks again
personally I could not have a backyard that small or even sit out there, too noisy for me. Nothing wrong with these places. Why do they have to tear stuff down when there is nothing wrong with them 😡
These are definitly not starter homes, these are luxury townhomes, these would have been at least $225k in the '90 's, likely more. I bought a brand new 980 sq ft condo just outside Toronto bought in '99, it was $180 for 980 sq ft, one bedroom, and I wasnt in toronto proper. So this was minimum $250k maybe more. High end finishes hardwood floor, granite counter tops, built in appliances, large sinker tubs.yup, these were luxury towns at the time...still are for that matter. Most Canadians are not living in something this grand.
Tear down something nice and well built to put up more gawdy, shoddy built junk. For the climate screamers out there I ask, how "green" is this or how environmentally friendly is this to create more waste than necessary.. there was a lot of energy put into making all of those materials and constructing those buildings not too long ago for it all to wind up in a landfill.
So let me get this straight. Tearing down perfectly good townhouses to solve a housing crisis to put up….more townhouses. Sure. I don’t doubt housing is at a premium there but developers are going to play that card all day long. They see $$ signs. At some point they will have these pricey “affordable” housing complexes that no one can afford. They’ll have so much money invested that at some point they’ll need to recoup that money. And they have a monopoly-what a shame. Those are nice townhouses! Nice find. And that kitchen does have an oven-I love my range. No cooktop for me!😂

It's sad they sit empty when there are people that could really use them in the interim.

It is sickening to comprehend.
Right I was thinking the same thing

100%. These townhouses just need some upgrading. That’s all. No need to tear them down.

I definitely would have lived here but I would have needed a stove , I use mine all of the time.. Lovely layouts and designs for these townhomes.
I’m not a fan of townhomes. Like a upgraded apartment. Great explore Noah!!! You have a perfect voice for narration 😊😊😊
The oven in the first townhouse was in the wall.
I just wish that these developers would re-cycle what they can from the torn down houses/mansions

Noah I love that kitchen.
I love that house Noah.
Best kitchen, last house. Best layout, first house. Best basement, third house. Best bedrooms, first house.
That sword 🗡️ had a signature on it
There’s even apartments here that people were told they needed to leave because they were renovating the whole building.
People were told to vacate in some of the new apartment buildings, because they weren’t earthquake safe.
That would be a blessing if they could even save the wooden floors!!!
No oven you looked in the oven ! Lmao !

Hmmmm… a good starter home? Only if you’re a very, very wealthy young person.
Beautiful town houses
How are you entering these houses? Is this legal?
How long were they shandy itt
Hate the bathroom by the dining table. I would send ppl upstairs or downstairs.
Awesome 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾❤
Nothing wrong with these townhomes. Toronto is so expensive. I would be upset f I was forced to move.

They definitely look like the were made in 1998🔥
Nice townhouses
Destroying a perfectly good modern neighborhood to build condos typical City of Toronto.
Oh come on go in the attic you got a ladder
The 4th is the best. Man the third had some trashy folks. I liked this video.
Changed best bedrooms, last house.

Who owns these condos? Would you send us a contact no?
