The vocal was already sounding great I think you should a video with a vocal that was recorded in untreated condition like a home studio cuz I think 90% of people watching don’t have good sound treatment
FACTS!!! ALL YTUBERS ALWAYS DO VIDEOS WITH ALREADY POLISHED VOCALS SO WHEN PEOPLE WATCHING SEE THEM DO THE BARE MINIMUM TO VOCALS, THEY TRY TO COPY WHAT THEY DO AND THEIR VOCALS NEVER SOUND THE SAME AS THERES. THATS WHY MANY PEOPLE KEEP TELLING ME TO START A YT CHANNEL AND SHOW MY TECHNIQUES FROM SCRATCH. IM REALLY CONSIDERING IT BECAUSE MOST OF THESE YTUBERS WILL NEVER GIVE OUT THEIR SECRETS. THEY FOOL YALL AND LET YALL KNOW WHAT THEY WANT YALL TO KNOW
I've been a bedroom producer my whole life, and honestly you aint going to have good vocals if the recording is trash, I'm sorry but its the truth. If the room is reflecting on the mic, it's never going to sound like a studio record. The best you can do is dampen the source as much as possible, and then use automation to EQ lines/words differently.
@@SweetPProductionsso u wanna learn Mixing and mastering from someone who had shitty gear or none, and recording from a bad room? Calm down, idiot. This man gives u free mixing tutorial, where others have to study and pay a lot of money for that. If your vocals sucks, buy a better mic and treat your room to sound nice and you will definitely get those vocals. It's 2024 and home studios are possible way easier than back in the days! Stop crying for no reason
Man those vocals where already perfect.those plugins barely affected the sound.they need to show how they set up these preamps and all the outboard gear used ro get the sound
Streaky is by far one of the best in the business and for him to take the time out of his busy schedule to post videos of all his tricks of the trade that separate the amateurs from the pros thanks a lot streaky
You're the best teacher in sound production I ever had; it looks like all my training means nothing in the modern digital age. I am starting all over with the new tech, and Thank You for being such a great teacher.
I have been producing since 2007 and finally it landed on me. Mixing is a question of practice, practice and offcourse practice! I’m finally at a level that i’m confident. Taking in consideration that i mix and master in an untreathed room, i’m quite happy with my results. Knowing your gear is key and i also got rid of a lot plugins. If you overdo plugins on a channel hoping you can fix the crappy sound you overcooked you are doing it not right. I used to do this, but the key is being gentle on the channel. If one plugin ruins your sound the plugins after that are not going to fix the sound quality. I use a maximum of lets say 5 to 6 plugins on a channel and they all have a specific function. So after almost 20 years of mixing and mastering i feel i’m finally there….so never give up or quit. Keep your head up and you will become better over time

"In and out of Love..." damm this takes me all the time :D
Sir, have my subscription. Exactly what I have been looking for. First I only saw your shorts, and that was straight to the point. And after seeing the first longer video of yours, I must thank you. It's easy understandable, the editing is on point. One can hear what your talking about, not just dry talking and incoherent examples. It's so well put, and I will watch every video of yours! Thank you so much for freely sharing your gift! 🎉 much respect.
It's nice to see you smiling and in a good mood🤩 It's amazing how this draws you in for further viewing.👌I am happy to follow all your advice.😊 Continue to have a nice day Streaky.🤗
I remember when you started you were making videos that didn't demonstrate what you were talking about. You ahve come so far, and your videos are GREAT!!
This is a very very subtle way of mixing it. It almost sounds the same. Which is obviously the right way in this case, cause the vocal was cleaned and edited already. Or at least it sounds like it was. I don't think Streaky wants to hide secrets it's more like showing you the proper steps of vocal processing instead of showing you how to fix a vocal because that is a very specific and individual process which depends on the respective problems of each recording.
I’ve been following you forever and really love Logic Pro and never use the bus 🚌 because I never understood it well enough besides side chaining…. Until this video!!! You explained it in a way that finally clicked! ❤
Nicely done Streaky, it definitely brought out a stand out vocal compared to what it was. I’ll definitely be employing your vocal technique on my next project.👍
I'd slap a gate on before all that to mitigate all that breathing etc. Another nice tip is to slightly pan the distorted parts off center (very little) - Does a lot to keep stuff interesting
Sound like a processed vocal to how it’s coming through sounding silky like there is no harshness to it like it was already de-essed.. sounded more muffled when you added the body to it too.. also the fact that you did a parallel process on a dry vocal before unmixed as you said is new to me because lots of time the vocal don’t have that much power and volume first before going into a parallel compression which it would of to eirther be turn up or processed first to hit the compressor unless you gonna turn that compressor threshold all the way to the floor with a ration of 10 or more 😂
Hey Streaky! I’m curious, do you hold on to those discontinued plugins from years past? Some stuff isn’t discontinued but they wait years for updates and other stuff just hasn’t been updated in years but I’m always wondering how many of those older, likely all 32bit plugins people hold on to- do you you ever use them, do you have a favorite and what do you think the oldest one your holding on to is!? Ahh, vintage software. Maybe one day people will seek it out like vintage hardware!?
I think that boost at 1.2k added to her already nasally vocal tone, I would go higher like 2k - 2.2K. The nasal range for female vocals is between 750-1300 Hz.
Hi Streaky, great content as always! could i ask what's the Wide display monitor you're using in the background that fits Logic pro neatly ? Thank you!
The original vocal tracks sound like they already got some treatment on them. They are either layered tracks that you bumped down to one mono track or you got some auto tune on them and if it is a single track you can hear some natural room reverberation that you wouldn't want there, or would you? I'm not the expert. But it does sound it is kinda phasing so I'm assuming you are double tracking it.
I have an SSL Big Six and a Fusion in my home studio. Do I need the SSL Bus + to master or can I get by with the compressors on the Big Six for awhile? Thank you for all you do for singer-songwriters.
Can someone please break down his routing, is he taking his vocal channel and routing it to four separate buses? Is he basically using the buses to send effects?

We need a video on how to record vocals at this level. The source already sounded great.
Really!??? Overprocessed and overtuned, robotic. Thats not hard. Getting a good vocalist is what you need.

Those vocals are really brightened up greatly.
I'm so glad you haven't abandoned The Song. That poor guy has experienced enough instability in his life.
I always watch a couple of your videos for inspiration before getting back to a project I’m working on. Thank you!!

That vocal sounds sooooo good and crisp. Thanks for the pro tip Streaky!
I love the "ducked delay and reverb"!
GOOOD tutorial, made notes down already!
I remember when you started you were making videos that didn't demonstrate what you were talking about. You ahve come so far, and your videos are GREAT!!
When I heard the song at first I was like "oh no, not this song again!!" 😂
So true... my facial expression changed instantly 😂😂😂
Humour and technique !!!
Thx for sharing these.
Laughed a lot after the first track, best joke for regular audience 😂
Heard the raw vocal and it already sounds excellent... Wonder what microphone they use...
reverb sidechain is good way. thanks for reminding me again. I like this song a lot, In and out of love is still one of the best.

Golden comment 👏🏾
The rough vocals are already processed as far as I could listen...and thanks for the cool intro)
Okay!, I need to know that "im fallin, in and out of love" song now.
okay the compression and saturation really hides the weird artefacts and makes it sound a lot better .. I like the reverb
I’ve been following you forever and really love Logic Pro and never use the bus 🚌 because I never understood it well enough besides side chaining…. Until this video!!! You explained it in a way that finally clicked! ❤
Do my course it will help you a lot from the sound of it
Great Idea for m/s side chaining, I love that👌🏻
Nicely done Streaky, it definitely brought out a stand out vocal compared to what it was. I’ll definitely be employing your vocal technique on my next project.👍
Could you do a video on processing a full dry vocal using Xvox
Thank you Streaky, you have helped me heaps bro. Cheers
I'd slap a gate on before all that to mitigate all that breathing etc. Another nice tip is to slightly pan the distorted parts off center (very little) - Does a lot to keep stuff interesting
Ultimate audio guru hands down.
Never expected to like the transformer more than the warm tube !
another great tutorial, nice one Streaky much appreciated
Streaky is THE MAN! Thanks for sharing you tips and tricks bro
damn man thank you, my mix is so clean and heavy now
It seems like the Trackspacer is a must have! Need to get it!
Soothe 2 is better
These videos are incredible. Can you do one on indie vocals like MGMT or Tame Impala?
Thx for sharing. Question.
What make are those speakers you have in the background. Thx
I love your simplicity ❤
Can use a simple compressor instead of Trackspacer triggered via sidechain from original vocal
What’s your opinion about utilizing utility gain to adjust levels rather than volume on the channel
Right. These vocals are already immaculate 🤦🏽♂️
That last tip, shelf the highs down again because the vocal became too bright, really added the value for me!

LOL couldn't believe it when you started playing that "in and out of love" track for the 100th time!!! Thank goodness it was just for a laugh!
Is the full song out anywhere? PLEASE
Great vocal chain. I feel still needs a tiny bit of de-essing?
amazing!! Love the instruction Streaky!
I’m a regular and the intro cracked me up haha. Thanks for the awesome tutorial!
hahaha, that was a fantastic troll job ...i was fallin' for sure! ....love the booing track behind the trolling

The nasal range for female vocals is between 750-1300 Hz.
Would like to see the process on a raw vocal recording instead of 91Vocals Sample Pack preprocessed/compressed vocal.
Hahaha. yes, I’ve heard the other song a lot of times now, lol, made me chuckle, hehe. Right, back to the video!
Can I send you some of my raw vocal tracks? Would love to see how you apply these tricks on my vocals for rock songs
What was the recording chain for her vocals please?
thank you my teacher
Streaky thanks for this mate as its going to be very helpful !
Hi Streaky, great content as always!

Thanks ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I've heard you just process it through the Avalon!!
great vid will defo suss some of your courses
I said I’m FALLIN in and OUT of LOVE
How would I do this in ableton? Essentially use all the Compression, Saturation, and Reverb/Delay on send inserts?

Great video. One thing to mention though is that 90% of home studio will not have a raw vocal already sounding this good. Garbage in garbage out
True
I'm falling......very famous word in this channel❤
Vocal is tuned to within an inch of its life... eaaaahhhh, grates on my ears.
No disrespect intended. Thanks for the tips though mate, they're universal and much appreciated!
Still... lol!
But with a poor microphone and an untreated room, it's hard to get good sound; it's so easy to mix high-quality record vocals.
That was a funny beginning, I actually rolled my eyes, LOL! That makes me a regular, lol!
I have an SSL Big Six and a Fusion in my home studio. Do I need the SSL Bus + to master or can I get by with the compressors on the Big Six for awhile? Thank you for all you do for singer-songwriters.
That cheeky smile at 0:27
Do you prefer the digital compressor model in Logic more than the others?
streaky! I noticed you didn't use the make up gain in the parallel compression? is there a reason?
Intro got me GOOD! 😂😂
noticed you have sidechain off. is it not needed on?
Can someone please break down his routing, is he taking his vocal channel and routing it to four separate buses? Is he basically using the buses to send effects?
Wooow that's beautiful
So the reverb is not added to delay since they are on separate busses? Wouldn't that sound odd?
Aye Streaky! Love your work bro. Question. Was that lead vocal sent to you with an effect already on it? Sounds like a tight chorus or flanger on it.
Yeah
@@Streaky_com Got you. You worked around nicely. Did you mix music from stems?
what about that Modulation that are in the Vox???
That first song hahaha... thanks for the laugh :D this is so good, Streaky!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
What is the effect on the vocal that makes it sound they sung the song through a fan? Almost like a doubling/chorus effect.
Oh shit streaky got the stalker glasses!
😂😂
Which Vocal pack is that Streaky?
I was like damn he still mixing that
Why don’t you use the mix knob on the compressor instead of a parallel bus?
Is there a reason why you used the Pro Q3 in linear phase mode?
Streaky coo,l your gifted pls think of mixing afro beat genre you will get more followers.God is always good
Superb as always.
Brilliant video!!
IN AND OUT OF LOOOOVE 🤣💯
STREAKY THE GOAT
Hey streaky, I'm curious and may I ask why did you not LP/HP the valhalla reverb on the plugin itself and rather put a Pro Q3 at the end?
More control
The song though ❤
SO NICE BRO
So I’m wondering if a lot of this is only applicable for pop, or would this also apply for other styles like rock?
No just give it a try
I was like, again? You looked so happy too 🤣 I’m laughing so hard 😭
Where can we hear the finished song?
