Thanks for this video. I have black gloss skins on my 2018 Ram but after 4 years they've fatigued and rattle really bad. One finally came off somewhere. I was thinking about getting new wheels but I think I'll order 4 more skins. Much more cost effective. Thanks for laugh on the stumble too. Glad you're ok.
Nice recovery on falling into the wheel 😂 I’m the same when I just wake up.... can’t put on my underwear without almost falling over a breaking a hip on some days lol. These wheel skins are cool. I have the gloss black. 👍🏽
I have a ram 1500 that comes with these chrome plastic covers. I did not know they were plastic covers. My truck is a 2017, I just found this out in December 2020. I’ve watched a couple other videos on how to get them off and back on because I have a manual tire machine, I thought I was going to have to go to a place with a machine that does not touch the rims and pay them to install new tires but, If I can remove the plastic covers, I won’t damage them by using my manual tire machine tire iron/shoe which skims around the edge of the rim just where the tire meets the wheel. I will be able to mount tires myself like I have done for decades without damaging my plastic covers. The factory Covers are held on by clips that you access from the back of the wheel and each spoke has double sided tape holding the cover on also
I have them too, the previous owner put them on because it is really easy and cheap to get always a clean and nice look without spend much money. I find the idea smart and cool
@@RickMammana Great, I'm ordering mine next week. Thanks for sharing your video. I never knew they have wheel skins to go over the originals. I thought I would have to buy wheels and rims.
Dude when you leaned over and fell a little I laughed a little because I just did that when looking to replace my black wheel skins on my 2015 Ram 1500. I bought the same ones you did but in black and watched several videos and your was the first that mentioned the lugs holding the wheel skin on so tip of the cap to you. Thank you!
I have hammer on hub caps and they always fall off eventually while the cars driving, bolt-on ones would be the solution, these ones remind me of the cragar ss wheel
Use 3m double sided auto tape. They use that to keep on car molding, spoilers (yes, spoilers), and more. I use it on my solar lights on my house because I'm not drilling through my siding. 50% bond in an hour or so, and 100% bond in 24 hours (so they say). Is 3m, and good strong shit. Held my solar light for 3 years until I had to replace the light, and I had a hell of a time getting it off.
My wheels are the factory 17 inch alloys. But mine don’t have the indentations on the spokes leading to the lug nuts. Can’t find any that don’t have those indentations.
the wheels look small for that truck since they do not fill the wheel wells, i guess the hub cap companies are still out there and they look pretty snazzy. sad part is the center caps are more than the covers, do they sqeek over bumps, corners etc?
Have you had any problems with these coming off going down the road? I’ve been reading mixed reviews on them. One guy suggested using 3m double sided tape.
+Dodge 318 Cummins Yeah it took me a while to find just the right one. I made a video of me shopping for it. Here it is, ruclips.net/video/YJd9BmR8bWU/видео.html
The chrome color ones come off easy, they clip over the lug nuts. You can take the nuts off or pull the wheel cover off. I had black ones and they broke trying to remove them. They clip over each of the big wheel spokes.
I bought a black set for my Dodge Ram & just put them on. They were a little harder to put than I thought they'd be. I had to hit them pretty hard to get them to snap in place. I hope they stay on! I haven't driven my truck yet to find out
@@michaelpoole6710 They'll stay on but the black ones are hard to get off. I had them on for a few years till I put the chrome ones back on. They look good. :)
@@mst4984 You'll have to ask the seller. I had to order the correct ones for my truck and wheel combination, there are many different ones. I hope you find some that fit.
Rick Mammana Mine have 2 snaps around each individual part of the rim Star(5). When I try to snap one off and move to the next, the previous one snaps itself back on. Kinda hard to explain. Lol. I guess I’ll just have to leave them on permanently. Thanks for the advice.
The key is to not knock yourself out while installing these lmao!!
Nothing like a huge goose egg on the forehead to start the day!
Looks great and whoever came up with the idea was smart.
Thanks for posting.
I'm gonna be just as drunk when I put my new skins on my Ram 1500
Like a kid at a candy store!

👍😎👍 I had black ones for a while but they broke apart when i took them off. I can only find one place to buy them. Thanks for watching!

Nice.... never knew these were available! Getting some for my Cadillac SRX... to pretty up my wheels :)
Cool! It is a really inexpensive way to dress it up! They're really nice!
This is awesome!!
Me too...just found out about them today
Lol. I thought my truck had cheap plastic wheels. It has these. They do look good. You look like Sammy Hagar
+Shawn Taylor Thanks! :) The Red Rocker!

How easy are they to remove?
Just bought for my 2021 Toyota 4Runner can’t wait.
Just installed they ain’t moving at all as some have said. Look amazing! You should’ve heard the snap when they went on.
That's a great design! Now the car manufacturers will start using them and still charge $1000 for the upgrade option!
+Tommy Walker Yeah! My friend has the factory chrome wheels and they are ABS plastic glued on to the rims! So they are doing it already.
+Rick Mammana Wow that's sad! It's all about the $$$$$!
Yup
Wait, wait, wait, .. Did this guy just fall into the damn WHEEL.?! 😂 LORD help US. 😳😄
Hahahahahaha!!!!!!! 😄😂
Will Skins are great because there's no ugly wheel behind a plastic hubcap it looks like a real rim
💀
Very cool my man. Looks great!
Thanks! I like em so far! :)
That looks so good on a dodge ram
The ones that fit my truck cost $209. I was hoping they would only be $70 like yours but hey, that's better than $2500 wheels I was about to buy.
Yeah the price went up since I made this video. Still worth it though. They still look good.
@@RickMammana Great, I'm ordering mine next week. Thanks for sharing your video. I never knew they have wheel skins to go over the originals. I thought I would have to buy wheels and rims.
Just got mine today from eBay.
Thanks for the video, didn't know about popping the central emblem out to install them.
Great! I hope they fit good like mine. :)
Yup! Looks like a factory chrome wheel! Cheap and solid solution.

That truck deserves better than hubcaps.
Nice save on that fall at the beginning lol

The way you fell at 0:33 hahahahaha
Cool, I love it
They are cool, save a ton of money
Beautiful
nice for about a year then pitting sets in and even with all the u tube videos on how to clean them, they never look stock new again.
Wish the made them for a 2019 Toyota Tundra!
Nice!!!... do they ever fall off from time to time when you hit bumps?

It would of been better if he hit his head on the wheel after face planting and bleed all over the wheel skins while installing them!!!

There is a link in the video description below the video. They have different styles there. Or maybe you checked that already.

No they never came off. They are still on.
I lost one. Apparently Dodge put silicone underneath them from the factory to help secure them. Eventually it wears off.
Nice hub caps
what do you do for a living rick? if you dont mind me asking, ive noticed you keep different hours.
+tony_m Hi, I don't mind. I am a mechanic in a manufacturing factory. I do keep weird hours. I never know what time or day it is. That's OK though!
🤣🤣🤣you get up fast
Wow makes your truck look like a fully loaded larimine with those nice chrome wheels. How much was the truck? $25,000 very nice.
+Dodge 318 Cummins Hi, Yeah I really like how they look. The truck cost a little less than that.

Just ordered a set of these for my Dodge Nitro
great! They still look amazing!
Where did u ordered them from
What website can I get some chrome 18inch wheel skins for my 2011 Ford F.150 4X4 ??
You'll have to search around the link that is in the video description below the video.
How hard are these to remove without damaging them? I know they have to come off when you get new tires or have your tires rotated?

They don't like road salt.
These been around for 6 yrs! Just hearing about them
👍👍
I got a 2011 ford fusion Sel but I bought the snap on..my rims are shaped different it doesn't have a place to place the bolts.would they work??
If they're made for that car they should work. If not I would ask the place that sold them. 👍
@@RickMammana my wheels are R17..they are alloy rims..can I get wheel skins r not?

I think I would put some silicone caulk on each spoke?... BTW they are called Clads'
Nope. Clads are permanent. Nice try though.
Is there a 17” wheel skin for 2009 trd Tacoma ? Seems like I can buy for any vehicle except that one
I don't think so, I was looking for others too and they only seem to have a limited selection.
do you have to loosen the lug nuts???? very curious
+Wesley Charlot No they just pop on right over them.
Rofl my man drunk
Now all you need is a real truck
That big ass truck isn't a real truck to you?
@@Iknowyoumadnow not if it's a Dodge!

Yeah! 😁
Where do you purchase them ?
I got them from a site called hubcap haven. I should have put that there. :)
I have some on my 13 Ram and can’t get the stupid things off now. Lol
They come off like a regular hubcap. Just try not to break them. I think I pried up the edges with a brass putty knife. Good luck with em.

where did you buy those?
Ok, nevermind.… I rewatched your video and paused it when you held up the box. Looks like they're from Imposter wheel skins. Thx for video.
Are they easy to remove.
+Shawn Taylor Yeah they come off just like hubcaps.
Are these plastic?
Brandon Richmond Yeah! ABS.
You think if I get the black ones if they get scratched will they scratch the black off?
Brandon Richmond I don't know. Maybe email them and ask if it's molded black all the way through. Or don't scratch them. :)
I like original better...
Those are not steel wheels. Lol
Where did you buy those wheel skins Rick?
+Dan Deering I don't remember the site right now sorry. Maybe search for wheel skins. If I find it I'll let you know.
Ok, thanks Rick
How well have they help up? Any of them fallen off?
+Roylar Howell They still look like new. Didn't fall off ..:)
Thx Rick. Where did you order yours from?
+Roylar Howell There should be a link in the video description of where they sell them.
Do these affect the wheel balance at all?
Now it looks like mesican truck (Wet back)
Lol
